Rav Chaim Kaniefsky says it is impossible to sell their portion in the sefer Shailos Rav pg.88 ,the questioner brings the famous story of the Gra who gave up his shcar mitzvah to have an esrog.see also Divrei Eliyahu pg 101 .Rav Chaim says its impossible and we don’t learn halacha from stories.

It should be noted that Rav Yehuda Henkin(grandson of the great posek Rav Henkin) quotes his grandfather in the sefer Bnei Banim chelek 2 page 211:38 that wearing loose pants does not present any issue and is consider tzanuah.Whether this is accepted by other poskim is debatable just like many other issues.

Is it permissible to learn the halachos of women as is the case in the Magen Avraham OC 263:12(Prisha/Drisha quotes his mother or wife for halacha of candle lighting)?

There are two reasons, one you mentioned. The second reason is brought by the Sharei Tshuvua 460:2 which says that we are afraid of someone mistaking matzah meal for flour(based on an actual story ).According to this second reason time is not a factor.

Its brought in the Kabbalistic work Sefer Habris 1 mamaar 17.The reason brought is one might see scary things and it might have influence on the baby.Nothing to do with impure or not.Nowadays, when people see animals more frequently many say one should not to be worried.

Yitay:If you don’t think it is meduyak from the gemarah that these areas have be covered because of ervah, you do agree that they have to cover these areas based off hirur for the man and the issue of bchukosaeim lo..,(Rav Moshe).I still believe the gemarah was saying the halachos of saying krias in front of ervah and these areas certainly were covered and have to be covered.

Mesheches Megillah on daf 16a Tosfos (see the Hagoas HaBach 5)says he heard that the 10,000 kikarim of kesef haman offered equals the amount of all the chatzai shekalim of the 600,000 Jews of the midbar. Now how to figure it out.How much is a one kikar? One kikar = 60 maneh.60*10,000 = 600,000.One Maneh = 25 shekalim.so 600,000*25 = 15,000,000 ,How many Half Shekalim were there? 15,000,000*2= 30,000,000. The age of giving machatzis Hashekel is from the age of 20 to 70(years of a lifetime).600,000 people times 50 years = 30,000,000. The half shekalim which were given years before had the power to knock off the same amount of the evil haman years later.

The Mishna Brurah writes that we fast on the 13 because that’s when the Jews went to war and before Jews go to war they fast just like Moshe Rabbeinu. He then explains that the fast is called Taanis Esther because Hashem sees and listens to people who are in distress.See the Aruch Hashulchan for another understanding. Also the Shulchan Aruch brings down some people fast 3 days split up like bhab. The Kaf Hachaim brings a diff reason why we fast see it inside very interesting reason.

chafetzchaim613: I don’t understand why it bothers you so much. You can call anyone Rabbi or not ,its up to you. One can tell if someone is a true talmid chacham or not.If someone receives Yoreh yoreh or yadin yadin then it means they know that topic well does it mean they can pasken, maybe,if they have shimush or not.Without a doubt there are plenty of people who don’t have smicha who far surpass people with smicha, but that doesn’t make someone with yoreh yoreh an am haaretz. In two years one could learn a lot of Yoreh Deah and know it well.Should that person be called Rabbi that’s up to each individual to decide.

It so happens to be that some of these 23 year olds know yoreh deah very well and some older people who dont.Everyone is diff and if one learns the halachos inside theywill know it well.to pasken one needs shimush anyways so that rwally counts where he did it.

Daniel Rosen: I do not understand what you are saying.See The Rambam who says we go by Chazaka ,and a Kohen with a chazaka is a kohen .See the Aruch Hashulchan who says that a chazaka makes a kohen certainly. The site brings Rav Emden but the Chasam Sofer argues on that I believe. The Sdei chemed says that a kohen today is a kohen. See the Rama in Yoreh Deah who also says chazaka.

The final point is that Rav Moshe you are sourcing is in a case of of people who cant be trusted and the chazka is lost, but in no way does it mean a regular kasher kohanic family is not m,yuchus.

I learnt the Igros Moshe a while ago.It is Igros Moshe EH 1:114,he says that todays bathrooms are a safek bais hakissai and one cannot wash in a bathroom for a meal, one could wash his hands in the bathroom for davening as long as they are dried outside. It is certainly more preferable to wash outside.

Also see Rivevos Ephraim(talmid of Rav Moshe ) 6:3:1.

Ok found two sources which say to have a stripe or some blue for a zecher see the Leket Yosher talmidim of the terumas Hadeshen :

Miritchka: it is interesting to note that people who wash their hands three times after the bathroom sometimes wash their hands in the bathroom. This is a problem if you hold that the bathroom contains ruach raa then you have to wash three times outside of the bathroom because if not then it defeats the whole purpose of getting rid of the ruach raa.To daven, the hands have to be washed outside of the bathroom or at least dried outside the bathroom.

oomis:that is the shiita of the Rashba who says that a person is a briya chadasha and one should wash like a kohen does. The Rosh holds because one could have touched an uncovered part of his body while sleeping, and then there is the issue of Ruach Raa(which a bracha was not instituted for). A good nafka mina would be if one would wear mittens to sleep does one make a bracha, this has been discussed already.

Superme:It depends if we hold that our bathrooms have ruach raa or not. Rav Moshe discusses this.
