WIY –
The only filth was the man who produced it. Seriously, cleanest movie ever.
SacrilegeMemberWIY – He never confirmed it to me but I have my strong suspicions, I broke up with him on those suspicions and he thought it was a good idea to go our seperate ways. Within 2 months he was engaged.
SacrilegeMemberChosson – I skipped the fatal flaw and went straight to overly personal 😉
WIY-
“Wow, so you want to have like a million kids? I hope you mention that on dates.”
Million sounds good 😉
Actually, I’ve learned to share less… my big mouth sometimes scares people 😀
mybat-
“a baby every 10 months????? Let us know how that works out! ;)”
I hope to someday, soon! till then, I can just pretend I will manage 😉
SacrilegeMember“didja marry the handsome dork?”
No 🙁 but the girl he started dating at about 4.5 months into it is about to (or did, last I heard they were engaged)
SacrilegeMemberExcuse me sir, you have toilet paper attached to your shoe.
SacrilegeMemberThe Pianist, is a very Kosher Holocaust movie (of course we can debate what a piece of garbage Roman Polanski is, but thats for another time) there was no sensuality in the movie.
I found it a little drawn out, but as far as “Kosher”, completely.
SacrilegeMemberNo thanks, I’m full.
SacrilegeMemberChosson, that truly was inspired.
However, being that your SN is Chosson I’d guess you are a Chosson or recently married. What I had in mind is that you’d share the Hopes & Dreams you have in your PERSONAL life, regarding kids, parnasa, where you want to live….
This is where you get to craft your fairy tale life.
I’ll be the guinea pig.
I want to get married. I want to be one of those ladies where people say “Huh? didnt she just have a baby like 10 months ago?!” every 10 months. I want to be a Foster Home. I want to live in LA. I want to be a Family Court Judge.
SacrilegeMemberWhy do I have to be the first to share?
SacrilegeMemberThats a little hypocritical, dont you think?
Truth is I thought he was fantastic looking, everyone else thought he was a dork 😉
Guess beauty really is in the eyes of the beholder…
SacrilegeMemberLOL.
Ok, my bad I think I misrepresented my idea.
If you could control over your life, what would it look like?
SacrilegeMemberHopes & Dreams.
Not rubbing lamps.
SacrilegeMemberI was dazzled by his good looks 😀
…. so was the other girl.
SacrilegeMemberIt was really moving. Very emotional!
SacrilegeMemberbein hasdorim – don’t worry about his financial situation ($$$$). Besides, we never did anything expensive.
SacrilegeMemberChosson – Give me a sec, I’ll think of some other fatal flaw I should over-come, then I’ll tell some overly personal details of my life, and we can all discuss it. Sound good? 😉
SacrilegeMemberHomeowner – No Google needed I am quite familiar with the story.
The Winklevoss twins wanted to created a dating sight for Ivy League students (ConnectU) they say Zuckerburg stole their idea. How a dating sight comes to facebook, IDK. They sued Zuckerberg and the settled for 65M. They are now suing him again.
Eduardo Sevarin & Dustin Moskowitz wrote the program with Zuckerman and they later brought on Chris Hughes. Zuckerberg owns the biggest share at around 34% Sevarin and Moskowitz both hold a 5% share.
SacrilegeMemberI dated a guy for 6 months. Maybe around month 4 and 1/2? LOL. (I’m serious BTW)
SacrilegeMemberChosson – being that the problem was about Teens that’s why I addressed Teens.
I get that you are referring to me having questions 🙂 Yes, I guess it would be better to ask someone… I don’t know that I’m ready.
SacrilegeMemberI think I am to blame for the yerida (oops)
SacrilegeMemberWIY –
My brothers get the CD’s 🙂
SacrilegeMemberDo you know what this thread reminds me of?
Neighborhood Day in boys camps.
SacrilegeMemberAs long as he doesnt punch a door I think your ok.
October 13, 2010 4:20 pm at 4:20 pm in reply to: What are popular up and coming neighborhoods for young couples? #700335SacrilegeMemberI heard a lot of young couples moving to Bayswater, Manhattan Beach and Far Rockaway.
SacrilegeMemberWIY –
Chosson does bring up a good point. At home my family only has super duper filtered (to the point of insanity) internet. I also think that you underestimate Teens and what they are interested in (I highly doubt kids are reading these posts).
That being said. I really dont think there was anything inappropriate about this thread (yes, maybe I’m a little biased). These are all relevant issues that should be discussed. No one ever became a better person by ignoring the issues. Torah Judaism is about questioning and if a Teen has a question based on something that comes up in one of the threads, let them go ask a parent, a Rav or a Machaneches.
SacrilegeMember“Neither did Marc Zuckerberg”
Could that possibly be because he created Facebook while IN Harvard making BILLIONS of dollars? Yea, there is a good chance that if I made billions while in college I would’ve dropped out to.
SacrilegeMember“cleveland has telz”
Those days are long over.
SacrilegeMemberFirst of all I thought AGED cheese is what you had to wait 6 hours for. Secondly, I thought once it’s cooked its fine…
Please set me straight if I am wrong.
SacrilegeMemberBeinhasdorim – I’m not chassidish, and I was spelling it completely based on phonetics.
EDITED
SacrilegeMember1987 – Good point!
Since its my thread you can refer to it as Yeshivish Modern World.
SacrilegeMemberJustsmiles –
“unless you are loaded it is pretty much impossible”
….because every homeowner in NY is loaded.
SacrilegeMemberThe Margherita Pizza (!) from Bennys on M.
SacrilegeMemberPhonics* LOL.
SacrilegeMemberbein hasdorim – Mods didnt spell it I did.
Hooked on Phonoics worked for me 🙂
SacrilegeMemberbein_hasdorim – maybe you were the guy I dated who left his wallet @ home… 😉
SacrilegeMemberMoq – Epi-Pen is for allergic reactions…
Kapusta – “Its ok to drive a Camry and not a Lexus. Find me that in NY.”
Maybe we run in different circles, but most of the people I know have no problem with Camrys.
SacrilegeMemberWIY –
I just downloaded about 2.5 hours worth of shiurim on to my Ipod to listen to on the way home from work.
Thanks for the suggestion!
SacrilegeMemberMonsey has ridiculous property taxes.
SacrilegeMembermybat – “But believe it or not I do go shopping for my fruits and veggies to a real market.”
They have amazing Farmers Markets in NYC as well. Union Square, City Hall, Bowling Green…
SacrilegeMemberLakewood isnt crammed?!
Last choice place.
SacrilegeMemberMoq – I completely agree. I dont want my Government telling me what to do, what to eat, who to love, where to live, who to give money to…
Less is more when it comes to Government.
SacrilegeMembersqueak – This is completely off topic and I was just bringing up an example, but I’ll share my moral/religious/political dilemma in regards to Gay Marriage.
Marriage is defined as one man and one woman. Who defined marriage as that? G-d. Now that unravels the entire political argument. In this country we have separation of Church and State, you cant create a Law based on a religious view, or preference on religious view over the other. Therefor, Gays should be allowed to have equal rights, being that the entities that have a problem with Gay marriage are the religious ones! What other grounds could you argue same sex marriage?
I really didnt want to get into this.
SacrilegeMemberapy – I practically go barefoot 😉
SacrilegeMembermybat – :O only the biggest market in probably the world!
SacrilegeMemberMoq – I took Piano lessons when I was a kid… until my family begged me to stop. Then, I dated a guy who played guitar and drums professionally (before he became Frum)… needless to say it is better for all parties involved if I never pick up another instrument 😉
WIY – Thanks for the suggestions! I actually listen to Jewish music as well. I’m not one of those people who hate Jewish music and thinks the only music that is worth anything is English music.
Not a fan of Israeli music, kind of reminds me of music in a nightclub with a singer on Speed (no offence if you like it). Maybe I’ll download some shiurim, its embarrassing the last time I listened to one…
Bein Hasdorim – I dont think it sounds extreme, I’m completely aware of it. I’ve been blessed and cursed with an amazing visual memory so once I see something I rarely forget it, so the excuse of I’ll forget it next week isn’t a good one for me.
I am also acutely aware of how my personal convictions have changed.
STORY: I was in college and a case came up where a Gay man wanted to leave his inheritance to his partner (this case was a long time ago). I USED to be intensely against the right for Gays to marry/adopt children/have rights… and I voiced that in the class, long story short I failed that class and got the Dean involved (I didnt get an A, but at least I didnt fail)
Here we are a little over 3 years later and I am ALL for equal rights for Gays. Can the credit be solely attributed to movies? IDK, but I’m sure it helped.
Disclaimer: I know Mishkav Zachor is against the Torah, therefor if a question ever showed up at the polls I wouldnt vote.
SacrilegeMemberThe height issue actually comes up a lot for me.
A guy writes/tells people he is 5’8/5’9 some so brazen to say 5’10 and then it comes back to me that they aren’t interested, why? because he is actually 5’6/5’7.
Personally, I think its just better to be completely truthful from the get go and you’ll save yourself as well as the other person A LOT of time.
SacrilegeMemberI guess that just goes to show everyone has their own sense of security. People in E”Y will tell you they feel they are in the safest place in the world….
Where is the Jewish community in Mexico, Mexico City?
Always wanted to go to the La Merced Market…
SacrilegeMembermybat – Fear of kidnappings…
SacrilegeMemberHonestly, I’m trying to keep myself busy after work so that I dont have time for my usual repertoire of shows.
I need to come up with an idea for the English music….
October 12, 2010 5:05 pm at 5:05 pm in reply to: Why do some wives (newlyweds) act like Mashgichim to their husbands? #701879SacrilegeMember“Because we are taught this in school”
I went to a ridiculously greasy BY and although they pushed Kollel like crazy they did constantly reiterate,
“You aren’t your husband’s Mashgiach you are his wife.”
