“on the topic of dating is it protocol to order a beer”
Once when asked by a date what I wanted to drink, I replied “a beer”. I thought he was going to pass out…. 😀

Just pathetic people bored enough to read to my miscellaneous rantings 😉

I am the same way!
I have an older brother but the handyman genes skipped right over him. While my father can take a car apart and put it back together, my brother cant bang in a nail. Luckily, I got some of the handywoman genes 🙂

Are they going to sell PSLs to the Siyum?

That dream went out the window minute I joined.

“cut fresh powder”
LOL! I’m pretty sure thats what you do before you snort cocaine. The term is actually, shredding powder 😀

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but the one time I did go skiing was NOT pretty. I started at the top of the mountain and instead of doing those fancy zig-zagging patterns in order to keep pace I went woosh straight to the bottom at about 50 miles an hour flying over all the humps, having dropped my ski poles somewhere on the mountain… Snow Mobiling anyone?

“Or maybe I’m wrong and this place is full of schizophrenics…”
Aside from the regular character you normally see: Wolf, Popa, Blinky…
I’m guessing all the other new ones, or the ones you rarely see are either one or two people with many personalities or one of the regulars with an alter-ego.

Only because ticket prices are ridiculous. Otherwise, as the girl, no complaints 🙂

“I could see the CR being a problem, if you spend all your free time here.”
I’d say its probably a full time job to keep up multiple personalities.
SacrilegeMemberSeriously, I mean I’m questioning how much of a life I have for commenting so much in the CR.
But to have multiple screen names….

“I really wasnt expecting that from you.”
Why not, you think have me all figured out already? 😉
My Grandfather is 78 (ad meah v’easrim) I cant say too much about his life because that will for sure give me away….
We always had a special bond, I am his only granddaughter that is named after his mother. Most of the year he lives in E”Y, but comes to America for simchos and sometimes for a stam visit.
SacrilegeMemberA23
Cant really blame them then… 😉

Maybe they heard that you like herring and yogurt…

You sure? I think the Bugatti owns the bragging rights now with the price tag just under 2 Mill.

SacrilegeMemberI dont do exact measurements but I’ll try to guesstimate for you.
1 C Mayo.
1/2 C. Sugar
1 Garlic Cube
Squirt Mustard (maybe 2 Tblsp?)
2 oz. Water
2 oz. Vinegar
Salt & Pepper to taste.

I was never really an Aston Martin gal (maybe its the British engineering 😉 Although if I HAD to settle for one I’d go with the Vantage.
Besides, why waste a beauty like that in BK when you can let her free on the open roads?
If you are already spending a small fortune, you might as well go with Bugatti Veyron. Along with the ultimate luxury car you get the bragging rights for owning the worlds most expensive car.

My uncle is a caterer. The reason they serve Be’er Mayim or Mayim Chayim (they are two different companies) is because thats the only thing the Mashgiach allows.

If you are good in math/statistics maybe look into becoming an Actuary. While you cant apply a full BTL towards the degree, if you get a BA in accounting or mathamatics you may be able to apply some Yeshiva credits if you get the degree through Touro.
SacrilegeMemberlawgirl
“Whoever said OT/PT/Speech is harder than law school has clearly never been to law school. This not meant to minimize the difficulty of OT/PT, but I’ve watched my therapist friends and I’ve been through law school. There is no way and no comparison in the difficulty of the schooling of the different careers.”
If you’ll go back and read my comment you will see the parentheses:
“(and in my opinion it is much tougher)”
I didnt say it has been proven that an OT/PT degree is harder, all I did was state my opinion. I am terrible at science. When I hear my close friend talk about what she learned I am amazed, I dont think I would have ever been to do what she does, that is why I chose law. I find it interesting and it challenges me in all the right ways.
Dont flippantly disregard someone else’s accomplishments because of a differing of opinion.

For every 2 hours billed there is an hour of unbillable tasks to be done.
Besides, the big firms expect you to bring in new clients, have working lunches etc. all of which arent counted towards billable hours.
SacrilegeMemberYAY! Because I once asked my Rebbi this EXACT question and he said emphatically that you arent allowed to do it. Something about thats how the Goyim pray…
If someone else asked and has a different answer i’d love to hear it.
SacrilegeMemberPopa
LOL! What made you think I am an International
Law Student? (Although that would be pretty cool)
SacrilegeMemberMoq
The Partners didnt graduate yesterday. A lot of lawyers were fired in the down turn as well, I’m going to guess the Wall Street Financiers who were fired werent the 20+ year veterans.
The logic was that in order to become Partner you have to put in 80 hour work weeks (for arguments sake) On Wall Street you work 9-5 and make pretty much the same salary.
Granted, once you make Partner life is good, until then…not so much.
SacrilegeMemberWIY
The consensus is that they would work on Wall Street.

If I was intentionally trying to be deceptive I wouldnt have told those who were confused that I am not in fact an attorney. I am not ashamed that I havent taken the Bar yet and I make no excuses for it, so why would I need to mislead anyone?
I am not sure why I should apologize that you werent able to differentiate my status in the words I chose, my intention was never to mislead anyone, and I dont know why this personally offends you.
“Carefully going over language is ONLY a strong point, especially in law.”
That was my point.
SacrilegeMemberSeems like something happened to my previous post…
What it should have said is:
Ironically, the Partners at the firm where I work all agree that given the chance to do it all over, they wouldnt become lawyers, and I qoute, “Its a waste of time and money”

SacrilegeMemberIf you are thinking of going because you like law and find it interesting, then go. If you want to go for the money I would advise against it. The law field got hit pretty hard in the economic down-turn and many graduates find themselves out of work.
the firm where I work all agree that given the chance to do it all over, they wouldnt become lawyers, and I qoute, “Its a waste of time and money”
SacrilegeMemberHomeowner
This is what you had a problem with.
“However, not all lawyers want to make partner in a top tier firm. I work in a small to mid-size firm and my main focus is Tax Certiorari. . .”
Any attorney (and many a lay man) worth their weight in salt would have no problem recognizing from the above sentance that I am not an attorney. There is no combination of the words “I” and “attorney” or “lawyer” and no mention of the word “practice”, I dont know about you, but I have never heard of a lawyer say that they “work”.
You say that you have been practicing law before I was born, and for this I respect you. We all have our weak points, maybe carefully going over language is yours…
Kindness… Is that what they are calling it these days?

Thanks for the support 😉
Maybe the response is exactly what this thread is about, men being intimidated by woman who can stand up to them on an intellectual level… between me and you that isnt what real Men are made of.
SacrilegeMemberHomeowner
Sounds like this is more about a woman being nearly on pace with you than you misunderstanding what I wrote 😉
SacrilegeMemberHaving had dated guys younger than me 20/21 yr olds, I can say there is a big difference. Dont underestimate life experience. With every year one lives new opportunities/challanges/situations present its self all which mold and mature a person.
Generally I am an advocate of boys getting married young, but some boys arent ready and are just too immature.

I am not admitted with the Bar Association.

Techinically I am not an Esq. since I never took the Bar. Thats my single biggest problem the “what if” what if I move out of NY and then I would have wasted all that time studying for the NY Bar… I think I am what you call a JD equivilent.
And I am the last person any one would call “over-educated”
Squeak (only you now 😉
If it was a single family or even a 2-3 family home I dont think any firm would have taken on the case. It’s too much work and probably not much of a payout.

I didnt go into law to open up my own firm. Fine, I want to become a Judge… but thats just because I like the robe 😉
In all seriousness, yes, gross generalization. The methods used by OT (especially) to get through to their patients takes tremendous amounts of creativity, persistence and caring. And as with any science there are always new breakthroughs and new discoveries so its an ongoing learning process.
