Hey Goq! Thanks! 😉
PBA- I’d love to know!
Did I mention I got married?
SacrilegeMemberFirst time in a L-O-N-G time, PBA.
SacrilegeMemberI grate the potatoes and onions (roughly 4 to 1) and then put in a colander with a generous amount of salt to extract all the water from the potatoes. Let sit for about 45 minutes and then squeeze out the potatoes. Add pepper and 2 eggs. Fry.
SacrilegeMemberRabbi Zucker has a Yeshiva for post Bais Medrash age boys. His Yeshiva is an option for boys who want learning with the college option. This year he is opening up a High School in Flatbush.
SacrilegeMemberRabbi Zucker is opening a High School for the 2012/13 school year for this exact reason. Apply there.
April 23, 2012 5:18 pm at 5:18 pm in reply to: Interesting yet enticing shidduch resumes, with questions….. #869946SacrilegeMemberThere is a very famous story w a Gadol (I apologize, I dont remember which one) who was walking with a talmid. The Rav asked him, What Yeshiva are you in? to which he responded, Ohr Somayach… but I’m not a Baal Teshuva! The Rav replied, why not?
The story is a cute anecdote, with many mussar lessons. But the point in reference to you is that Ohr Somayach has many tracks, and there are many non-BTs that go there.
What I dont understand is why you are on an internet message board, when you can be calling his references and asking these questions to them.
SacrilegeMemberThere is a diet called the Ketogenic Diet for Seizures. It is mostly effective in young children and it should ONLY be done under the auspices of a Doctor an Dietitian. Many people have found this successful as an anti-convulsant therapy, but it is very tedious and must be followed to the T.
SacrilegeMemberThere are Doctors (MDs) who will suggest a non-medicinal route with seizures, it doesnt make them alternative doctors.
SacrilegeMemberThe Foundry is absolutely magical. I looked in to it when I was working on event planning. For the ‘typical’ Jewish wedding it would probably be too small. The interior holds about 100-125 people seated and the exterior holds (if I remember correctly) about 150.
For a smaller wedding I cant think of a better venue.
SacrilegeMemberThe Foundry. LOVE!
SacrilegeMemberHow ’bout this?
– walked in with shaven zero head, krazeldike payos, pants ABOVE his belly *or
– Definitly Clinically and Certifiably Assbergers/Autistic ?
SacrilegeMember‘t
Really, BP isnt in the the mountains of Kandahar…. last I checked.
Hookah? Bochurim that are sitting and learning are smoking hookah! Yes, its only flavor packets. Yes, its inappropriate. Yes, I would never do it.
But really, this is not the worst I’ve heard. (Not saying I necessarily believe the story either.)
SacrilegeMemberRednails
Sounds like you could benefit from a little thing I like to call… RESEARCH!
June 7, 2011 3:37 pm at 3:37 pm in reply to: Why do politicians and others think they'll get away with dirt? #775779SacrilegeMember“The media is much less interested in Joe Shmo’s indisgressions. But, if a person is well-known, wealthy, orthodox, etc and headlines about the person will sell papers”
Um, duh? Probably half of America (if not more) is engaged in the very same behaviors as Anthony Wiener, the ONLY thing that makes him interesting is the fact that he is a public figure, why we expect more from them, idk.
If Wiener would have just said: ‘Yes, that is me, but that is my private life so it is my business. I have not committed any crimes.’ it wouldve all gone away, instead he chose to be a politician about it and thats where he shot himself in the leg.
SacrilegeMemberThere is no love lost between Anthony Weiner and myself, but Clinton’s indiscretions where far worse and he didnt go anywhere.
SacrilegeMemberIt is. I would love to get a patterned wall paper such as
with the rest of the walls pale grey. Then you can introduce whatever color accents you like, either hot pink, green, blue etc..
SacrilegeMemberSender
Great choice, definitely approve!
SacrilegeMember“And the guy who wouldn’t bet…”
Is he the one that got married first?.
SacrilegeMemberParty animal!
Tequila w salt and lime, please.
SacrilegeMemberIt depends on your taste and what look you are trying too achieve.
When you make a one part of the room the focal point it makes the rest of the room seem bigger, for example if you paint 3 walls one color and the fourth another or wallpaper the remaining wall that will be your focal point (I happen to love this look).
Good luck and have fun!
SacrilegeMemberdunno
Oy, dont sabotage your chances.
SacrilegeMember(Dont hate me k?)
First nite.
The beet soup doesnt really go w the rest of the menu (switch it out for a gazpacho?), and I dont think you needed the added starch/carb of the mash. Otherwise that nite sounds amazing!
Day 1
I wouldnt change anything. I usually stick to a specific cuisine when I cook, but not everyone is as neurotic as me 🙂
Nite 2
Def the tzimmes would go, but you said you needed to use it.
Day 2
Does the Eggplant Italiano have tomato sauce? I was thinking that if it did then it would be a lot of tomato sauce w the Ratatouille on the same plate.
I think the main thing is that you mix modern and ‘old world’ foods in the same menu and thats whats throwing me. Either way, great menu!
SacrilegeMemberSender
Wow, very gourmet!
To me some of the dishes dont go together but individually they sound great, enjoy!
SacrilegeMemberFirstly, I make it a point not to talk about dating ON dates. I think its counterproductive.
Secondly, guys definitely talk about their dates much more than girls. My best friends who know every time I put a piece of food in my mouth can not know I’m dating a guy until its over…
SacrilegeMemberI think people become cynics due to (bad/trying) life experiences not one person getting favored over the other.
“I am pretty sure the cynicism from seeing this leads children to distance themselves from yiddishkeit.”
Hypocrites are a bigger problem than people who play favorites.
SacrilegeMembermir guy
I can see that being either really cute or completely annoying, I guess it depends on how good your delivery is.
One guy I went out w told me a some ‘funny’ story about how he pranked a shop keeper in Israel… I though he was a jerk. I said no.
(Not only because of the story, he was an all around jerk.)
Be careful about the stories you tell…
SacrilegeMember“that was my point”
In person vs not in person seems more on topic than discussing the place of residence. IDK, thats just me.
“I would hope its with the clear goal of eventualy making it a real world relationship.”
Yes, hopefully that is the case. And many people dont want to waste their time unless they already feel something is there, after talking over a period of time.
SacrilegeMember“it doesnt differentiate whether it is Shabbos or not, or whether the parties are in E’Y or not”
This is because they usually stay on topic, yes?
SacrilegeMemberAs a preface I’m going to say that I have no problem talking to men whether IRL or in the CR…
But for the many ‘Frum’ posters in here who I generally disagree w on matters of Hashkafa, in Pirkei Avos when it says ‘Al Tarbeh Sicha Im HaIsha’ (or something to that effect) it doesnt differentiate if you are actually seeing the or not. Believe it or not, people do actually fall in love without ever seeing the person they are speaking to.
Online dating, its a multi-mlillion dollar industry.
SacrilegeMember“Care to elaborate?”
You asked for it…
Basically you are saying that the only level on which you can connect with a female is physical . Intellectual level? Na. Wit? Who needs it. Hashkafa? Not important.
Congratulations you have the mating requirements of a dog.
(PBA I’m not interested in hearing yet again that men are configured differently. I for one choose to believe I am not going to marry a donkey.)
SacrilegeMember“it’s okay because not only don’t you see the person, but you don’t even know what they look like”
Um, ok.
SacrilegeMemberMy answer is: I Dont Know.
On the one hand I am lazy and I get very comfortable at the stage that I am on, on the other hand I am someone who seeks the truth and cant tolerate injustice/indiscretion/lies.
I am thankful to Hash-m everyday that I was born Frum and I try not to take advantage of that, and I hope never to get too comfortable so that Yiddishkeit has no meaning anymore.
I am always awed at Baalei Teshuva and their stories, I can only hope to reach their level, what they do and what theyve been through without seeking any applause or fanfare.

SacrilegeMember“they just take the mushy stuff from when you cook ground turkey, and add potato starch to make it a little more jellish, and some other junk, and roll it on out.”
Let me know where you had the sweetbreads that can be described as such so I can steer clear of that establishment.
(p.s. *applause* 80, can wiki)
SacrilegeMemberI like how all of a sudden the men are so frum…
SacrilegeMemberThere are many different parts of the animals body that can be called ‘sweetbreads’, some people call rocky mountain oysters ‘sweetbreads’.
When you go to a restaurant and order sweetbreads, or go to a Simcha and are served sweetbreads you are getting the Thymus Gland.
SacrilegeMemberSweetbreads are the Thymus Gland.
SacrilegeMemberIf someone finds out they are wearing Shatnez they need to take off the garment then and there.
Best that someone not point it out to someone else in public.
A man should NEVER point it out to a woman (and vice versa).
SacrilegeMemberGavra
Actually my comment wouldve made more sense had they let the whole thing through. Oh well.
SacrilegeMemberGavra
Wow, great job getting everyone to try to think of a womans body and try to figure out what could have been wrong. I think THAT is a lack of tznius, clearly you are purposely keeping the image in your mind.
So get over it and keep in mind that unless you want to move to a male only continent you will on occasion come across woman who unwittingly (or purposely) wont be dressed tzniusly.

SacrilegeMemberA good attorney advises his client on all eventualities. If the client is going to have to pay the Title Closer $150-$350 (depending on the Closer) at the closing its the attorneys responsibility to make his clients aware, your personal political views on the matter notwithstanding.
That is gross sweeping accusation which in my personal experience I find to be not true.
SacrilegeMemberIf you are feeling grateful you can buy him/her a bottle of wine or a small gift, I’m sure they will appreciate it and there is no protocol when it comes to hakoras hatov.
SacrilegeMemberIf they think their kids are going to have anything to do w them once they get older…
Kids crave stability and acceptance. If someone wants to be an individual once they can make that decision THEN let the parents support it no matter how outrageous. But this isnt for the children its for the parents, they are being selfish, they are probably hippies, probably high and probably looking for their 5 minutes of fame.
SacrilegeMemberI always wanted to try it, but I think I’m a little wary about all the raw meat and cross contamination.
SacrilegeMemberCongrats!
Your lawyer will give you a bill as will the broker. The title closer gets a ‘gratuity’ which is factored in to closing costs. Some people give a little extra to their lawyer if they were very happy with their work, but it is definitely not expected or common place.
SacrilegeMember“Shabu Shabu”
What a fun date!
SacrilegeMemberClearly with all the ‘proper protocol’ something isn’t working.
The main thing is that your daughter is thinking of her friends and she should have siyatta dishmaya, protocol or not.
SacrilegeMemberBSD
LOL!
SacrilegeMemberMy name in the OP! *squeal*

I didnt realize that you didnt understand that I wear open toe and sling backs… just gotta have ’em trusty uh, hose as you call them underneath.
