I dont make a whole scene out of going back to the cashier and announcing to him that I “got” it. (Besides, he could care less, and already forgot about me.) Maybe If I was a guy.. What I do is hold my thing out in plain view and stroll out slowly and confidently. If I was stealing I would grab it and run..

When I first got my license I was afraid.. I said a perek of tehillim everytime I got into the car. It helps alot. I also only drove with ppl who were supportive and helped calm me down-as in not with my parents. (AAAAAAAAA, BRAAAAKE!!! Ma, I AM braking!!) Take it very slow and dont force yourself to get over it. As ur confidence builds, the fear just slips away. You want to build that confidence by getting excellent in one area, and then trying out the next thing (highways, new routes…) Good luck! Im already driving like a new yorker! (OK, not really but almost..)

I dont understand how a female is capable of doing such a thing to herself. No matter how normalized the minhag becomes… how could a healthy person not be traumatized to see herself in such a state? To watch as your locks of hair fall to the ground..?? Im horrified just thinking about it!

Do u have a problem with ppl with long gorgeous hair? The issue is that its hard for a woman to stop once she starts beautifying herself. Its not the wigs fault.

Its completely apropriate and a very good book to read- it is full of Hashkafa and it can teach you alot. It is a book that talks about ppl with addictions. I dont know why she would not want you to read it- does she have a problem with the first one too? Is BiPolar also innapropriate to read about? These type of problems exist in our communities in numbers that would blow ur mind and I would guess the book was written so ppl like her could start understanding that and dealing with reality. It really bothers me when ppl bury ther heads in the sand and want others to do the same claiming its for ther own “benefit”

    Interesting.

I woldntv thought background was spelled this way.

I never set actuall pics of ppl on my br. It gets me sick of them. Its usually pics of water or nature. I change it very often. My ringtone is different 4 all my contacts so I always know whos calling me- and its usually a tune that reminds me of the person.

Iv been shown tznius is a “bill of goods” and it helped me understand how I can cover my elbows and still not be tznius. If not for the other middos that r associated with it, I would never get it. (which is why it is complicated and girls struggle to understand) But I do not think everything in the world was associated with it- atleast not in my schooling.. BUT think I hear what ur saying about it being “watered down”…

I dont know what the commerce clause is… But anyway when girls talk and talk about tznius, and evaluate clothing… it includes all kinds of middos associated with tznius. not exactly strictly the definition of tznius.. I think u hafta b a girl to chap..

Jeans were invented for farmers and by no stretch of the imagination would be considered nice.

Jean skirts were not invented by farmers. Lets get with the program, its year 2011. We have more options. And also The “color” denim isnt actuall denim mterial..

“I have no idea if there is something wrong with wearing a jeans skirt, but I know it has nothing to do with tznius.”

I disagree. I think its a sensitivity in a girl- attitude, aidelkeit, tznius.. its all related. Tznius isnt black and white- theres a much deeper side to it that touches every aspect of a girls life.

Nowadays denim does not need to be casuall. It can be very dressy and aidel. I wear skirts that solid and dark- (they look like navy) and I absolutely think they are 100% ok.

However faded/pocketed.. skirts that is a jewish girl’s version of jeans (not the dressy kind) does not give a very yeshivish/tznius/jewish (cant think of the right word..)impression- even when it is the right “fit” halachicly.

If ur looking for cardbord boxes-apple boxes r the best. They have handles and lids so u dont have to tape anything up and they cum with those green cardbord thingys inside that u can use to stack dishes (dont use newspaper- inky)
