Now that the kids have kids of their own we don’t eat lunch as the shul gives us the opportunity to stuff our faces with all the ashkanzi style foods + a supply of Glenlivet and McCallen. This time of the year I sleep though mincha as well

Now Rabbi Moderator you must not let this post go through as it may opine contrary to torah values. But…young girls having internet access is very dangerous as it might lead to shiduchim

Just an observation. A black hat is a uniform that underlines the hashkafah of the individual. The wider the brim, the more frum regardless of reality. It comes in very handy when ones children are in shiduchim as the absence of the hat can cancel out all the wonderful midos of a family.

According to Reb Motel Weinberg A”H, the mashgiach in the lower bais medresh in Mesivta Chaim Berlin, Gehena(m) is 60 times hotter than the sun in Brighton Beach on a Sunday afternoon. And this was over 50 years ago. Oy vey ! could you imagine what it is today?

Have you ever wondered why there are so many “right wing ” blogs and websites? Have you ever logged onto a MO website or blog? There aren’t any because we don’t really care!

The assumption that the child does not want to live an orthodox lifestyle. What is a left wing modern orthodox parent to do when a child puts on a black hat, tzitzes and and a velvet yarmulka and will not drink the milk in the home.

WEVD was a commercial radio statijon and Art was paid commissions on his accounts like “Cafe Baba” and “Saratoga Geiser Water”. The other guy was on a college listner supported frequency which seemingly was just a fun thing. That was than and this is now and this is that and I am me you are he and we are all together groovy

Thank you I remember WEVD . In the later years the morning drive time was hosted by Bill AMAZIN Mazer who turned from sports to very conservative talk way before there was Savage or Hannity. WEVD was in stereo like most FM stations 97.9

Just happened to look at a website of Chabad in Fairbanks Alaska and candlelighting this week is 12:17am. How do you suppose Tisha B’Av goes up north! By the time they make havdalah I would be in lala land

It’s all relative. Here in the 5 Towns “good shabbos or Shabbat shalom” is expressed reflexively, whereas in other communities it can result in ex communication.

Why are people so concerned about the level of his piety? Is this really the business of anybody? Maybe he only fasts half a daya on Tannis Esther perhaps he doesn’t wash before eating pizza!

He seems to be a mentch who is also a member of the tribe. There is an anecdote in reference to Senator Joe while Senate was in session late Friday afternoon. His colleagues were wating to leave for Shabbat so that they my vote without him for whatever reason there was. To everyones suprise he excused himself and walked into a side room where about 12 Chabadniks davened mincha and kalbalat shabbaat. And than the vote proceeded. I am not sure whether Kiddush was recited or he used wine or challah..what’s the difference!

Take some good advice from an adult PWS- A person who stutters. From the get go tell her that you stutter. This will lift pressure of trying to conceal it which is impossible. There is an excellent PODCAST called STUTTER TALK. There is much to learned from the experience of others. Try this out with your friends first and get used to laying your cards on the table.
