I wonder where it’s brought out that it’s diagonal. Especially since pretty much all the archaeology shows the menorahs curved. Did all of bnei yisroel throughout those times err that the menorah had curved branches? Or were they really just drawing out different menorahs and not the main one? Its interesting to know where the source for the branches of the menorah is from.

So does the illustration come to teach us something after all? For example the branches being straight and not curved?

But what about regarding the branches. Was that for illustration purpose or to show that the branches were straight and not curved as his son stated?

I heard that he wrote a note that it was for visual purpose only. Also in the sketch aren’t the branches all on different levels? If we learn out that the menorah was straight branches from the sketch do we also learn that the branches aren’t supposed to be even height? Or do we pick what’s for visual purpose and whats for learning purpose?

Every year there are menorahs being vandalized. It obviously attracts the wrong type of attention. Yes it’s nice to see a menorah and be reminded of the holiday, but sometimes I cringe when I see them out everywhere wondering what type of attention it’s drawing, like in your face we will put this menorah because we are Jews showing our might.

I don’t think I would mind just settling for the non Jewish decorations since we aren’t in a Jewish land, true that some people both Jews and non Jews may get inspired by menorah, but on the other hand I feel it also stirs up hatred. As it is most people think Hanukah is just a way of countering Xmas for Jews to feel better about not having a “major” holiday. Does putting up menorahs prove otherwise? Maybe idk.

At this point in time we are always making headlines and I don’t understand why many feel the need for that. Also I don’t understand why many Jews feel such a need to fight and show they are anti vax, (even if justified) but now media and people label Jews as antivaxxers and spreading disease. Aren’t we as Jews supposed to keep our opinions in the community and to ourselves? Remember the overzealous biryonim of beitar? Do we not learn from our own history?

Always-“RW, why are you participating in a discussion at all? You pretty much imply first that your antibody levels are high, and then you seem to admit that you didn’t bother measuring them. So you seem to suggest that people behave carelessly under assumption that they are safe. This is exactly the upcoming danger.”

-I didnt imply anything so im not sure where you get that from. In general people have strong high antibodies even 18 months later, and yes they checked. Being careless is wearing a mask which has been proven not to work unless maybe its an N95 which almost noone wears, while taking a never ending amount of vaccines. They programmed you to care about others so much that you dont even take into account what damage you might be doing to yourself.

Whatever the levels are they are typically as much or higher than those vaccinated and are lasting much longer. Anyway as long as there are antibodies the body has a memory to fight against viruses.

Because they are saying it will eventually totally dry up. Aside for the sinkholes that it’s causing and also getting farther and farther from the hotels and tourist zones. It’s not just a tourist attraction it’s one of the world wonders or at least wonders of Israel.

Also isn’t there a prophecy in nach regarding the dead sea being cured or something like that? Whatever that means maybe that life can survive in it since now nothing does.

Gain of function means taking a virus that is not harmful to humans and changing it to be harmful to humans. Can I make it any clearer or do you need the Fauci version of it?

in reply to: Unvaccinated Lockdowns #2031153

It’s interesting also why anyone would trust or follow someone (Fauci) who supported and funded a lab with gain of function for this virus altering it from only being harmful to animals to affecting humans as well. Aside for the other cruel experiments with the beagle dogs which everyone is forgetting so fast. If you just look into this man’s history you will see they he is an evil individual along with Bill Gates. He even openly lied regarding masks being ineffective and then changed it to them being effective and even admitted months after that he lied to keep hospital stock from falling short. And nobody has an issue with this?!

in reply to: Unvaccinated Lockdowns #2031137

Alwaysask, actually Fauci said there is an increase in hospitalized vaccinated individuals but of course blames that on them not getting their booster. Which one the 4th, 5th?
Also they are admitting there is an increase in breakthrough cases.

A vaccine to save lives? It wasn’t effective against delta variant and not expected to be effective against any other variants. Also what about those who died, or got major effects from the vaccine such as heart issues, paralysis and other. I didn’t say they are majority but definitely a significant amount. Besides why should even 1 person die or be majorly affected by a vaccine meant to save their life? Ever heard of other vaccines that cause death or paralysis, I would think that kind of defeats the purpose wouldn’t you agree? So when the virus was the issue they said 1 life lost is too many. But if they die from the vaccine (coincidence of course) , so it’s fine since it’s for the greater good? Interesting.

Aside for the fact that this vaccine is risky due to the lack of testing and trials which take around 7 years, or per the CDC 10-15 years which they conveniently removed from their website(which should already raise a flag), I would agree that a person who is at risk or elderly and has a bad chance if they catch the virus, probably can benefit from the vaccine assuming that doesn’t kill them a few hours or days later(which of course the media will say has nothing to do with the vaccine, we can assume these are all coincidences).

But for you to say the vaccine is what is keeping us alive, you are playing along with the media which deliberately ignore the fact that the majority are those who survived the virus rather than not and also ignoring the fact that those who survived have antibodies which are lasting 20 months so far( nope not just 3 months lol) and have proven to be superior and effective against all variants. If they weren’t then you would have seen all those people get sick again, not just the 1 or 2 rare cases.

Again if you want to take the vax go ahead but to force it and call the unvaxxed enemies leads us down a really bad path.

“The smart amongst us knew from the start that things didnt add up”

-yes yserbius, the whole thing about Fauci saying masks are useless and you shouldnt wear them unless you are sick(which makes no sense if its useless), then going from that to masks save lives and everyone must wear one, then we went to 2 masks are better than one, antibodies are useless, vaccines will take at least 2 years but suddenly we have 4 vaccines in less than a year, vaccines are unsafe for children, vaccines are safe for children, stand 6 feet away, we found out that virus spreads even more than 6 feet away so there is no difference, the virus is not airborne, the virus is airborne, 2 vaccines are better than one, 3 vaccines are better than 2, 3 vaccines should be standard therefore the 4th vaccine is now a booster shot, and so on. Many rules which have no scientific backing.

How do i sound like Qanon when using new world order? I dont follow them at all and I dont trust them. Second of all Nazis used the term New Order during WW2 and mandated that everyone accept it. New world order is nothing new. How many times have we heard them try to instill into our minds terms such as “New Normal” or “Adjusting to a new life” etc.
We have learned that so many “conspiracies” ended up being reality. A mandated vaccine was a “conspiracy”, COVID passports were a “conspiracy”. Are they still?

Yes I used the word sheep because thats exactly the way it is people acting like sheep being led to slaughter. Due to these mindless individuals we all have to suffer. Makes a lot of sense that you cant enter a restaurant without a vaccine but its totally fine to take a subway in close proximity to thousands of others without proof of vaccine. No, there is no science to any of this.

So yes, those of us smart enough saw this coming but were and unfortunately still labeled as conspiracy theorists.

Also, ya smartphone cameras have come a long way since and even at that time the smartphone cameras were probably better. But the pics on this Canon are definitely sufficient. The point and shoot cameras are pretty much obsolete nowadays unfortunately, I like using things that are dedicated to one specific function but its difficult to justify buying one when you have a better camera included in your phone.

“Regarding picking up a penny from the ground, one of my teachers once mentioned that by picking it up you show Hashem that you value money, so he may send you more. (Hopefully the real stuff.)”

-I heard something of the sort too, is there something to it? Sort of like not throwing away the food crumbs to show you value food?

“But I think it’s cheaper to make a bill than coin. For a coin you need metal-paper is cheaper. Not sure. I think so.”

The point is that in the long run coins stay usable practically forever. But to replace the dollar bill with a coin is senseless since coins weigh a lot and the whole reason they went from coins to bills was because it is easier to carry. So what they proposed is going backwards kind of like the NYC plastic bag ban, going back to paper

Actually pennies are the highest selling coin in terms of mistakes and collectibility. Some have sold for hundreds of thousands more than any other coin. And there are many types of collectible pennies which makes it quite valuable.

Also I’m sure taking away a certain coin would have some impact on the economy somehow for good or bad?

While they are at it they should put the 2 dollar bill into circulation I think that makes even more sense than taking away the penny.

So that sounds like us crying wolf or using the victim card like other such “groups” do. I think that’s not empowering and just shows us as weak and nagging for empathy. I feel that when we ignore these haters and keep strong, others see that as a strength like wow they are so hated and suffer but they keep going and succeding in life without making excuses.

Also I think that when we ignore all these lowlife attention seekers, we don’t give them the spotlight they seek and it will actually discourage them from doing more. We feel that we have to make every occurrence known so that it will stop it, but in fact it’s the opposite effect it encourages others to do the same since they see it works to get to us. Maybe that’s why there is an increase in anti Jewish actions or maybe it just seems that way since any moron yelling something out of their car window gets a special article on 10 different Jewish websites which leeches into other general news sites as well.

Ujm”Is your point that we must respect, love and be happy with Reform and Conservative Yidden?”

It’s a valid point. True they are on what we would consider the wrong path and mindset, but if they truly are Jews since there are so many who falsely claim to be Jewish and join since they accept all types, then I guess we still should respect them as Yidden because that’s what they are. I mean does achdus only apply to orthodox or to those Jews who we consider to be on the right path as we see it?

In a way I feel that the reform and conservative have more achdus than we have in the frum communities where we are so judgmental, taught to be judgemental and stick our nose into others business, and look down upon anyone who we think isn’t on our level. Usually conservative”Rabbis” are very enthusiastic to meet other Yidden. But again I obviously all sides aren’t perfect.

Achdus mainly is what we are missing. And not just the temporary achdus when things are wrong. Thats good too but we need real achdus from the heart which is long lasting. Its funny how so many different sections of Yiddishkeit that we have which mostly just started due to us being apart and scattered(and unsure the exact way of doing things), turned into minhagim that separate us even further by arrogance, pride, and sense of superiority over others minhagim or hashkafos.

I wonder if when the Yidden around the world created/adopted these minhagim if they had intended for them to stay for generations on end or they just intended for them to be temporary until the Yidden reunite and determine what the original minhagim were. It seems they stuck around and now that we are united we bicker over “the right way” of doing things, or “the right nusach to daven” and on and on. This is what separates us unfortunately and Yidden just cant seem to get past the type of Yarmulka one wears, or the type of hat, or nusach tefilla one davens, or yom tov minhagim and so on, and its a real shame that we are not united completely with a full heart. We are even separated by neighborhoods which I understand is comfortable for everyone to be with their own, but it would have been greater for us to diversely live together indifferent.

bored teen-“Yes, Eric Adams has been investigated for corruption in every office he’s held BUT he’s a former police officer so I feel like he’ll be tougher on crime. (He said he doesn’t support defunding the police)”

He doesnt need to defund anyone when he suspends half the force. Also being a police officer doesnt mean he will be tough on crime, he knows the system on both sides well. Sliwa volunteered his whole life fighting crime in the streets without weapons or pay so I think that shos how much he cares about battling crime.

The only concerning thing about Sliwa were his rants against Jews but yes he did apologize several times both publicly and on videos in Jewish neighborhoods where he came to celebrate Simchas Beis with Yidden in Brooklyn and even danced(you can find them on youtube). Adams wont get near that environment.

Also Curtis is known for his enthusiasm and went overboard in his rant, but he admitted to making a mistake and regretting and it takes a big man to admit mistakes especially publicly. He seemed sincere and hopefully it doesnt happen again. He specifically told the bochurim in Williamsburg that he respects the Yeshivas and will not touch them he is humbled by those who learn there. Do you think Eric Adams loves the Jews so much simply because he is sneaky enough to keep his mouth shut?

“Two clowns, only one (Adams) perhaps slightly less dysfunctional than the other. Its mind-numbing that with 20 million residents, these are the abysmal choices given NY voters.”

Gadol, I understand that you are very Liberal Democrat, but do you care to explain why you still think Adams is the better option when he clearly stated that he will “follow the laws” and continue with the mandates, fire all the former “Heros of NYC” if they dont comply with the vaccine mandates, and even mandate school children to get vaccinated or be suspended from school which btw, even DeBlasio opposed?

Sliwa is saying he is against congestion pricing, (which you might not be happy with because I’m sure you would be delighted with yet another toll in this city), remove unused bike lanes to ease traffic, remove speed cameras which are conveniently placed in zones such as highway ramps or downhill roads and are a complete scam, will not mandate school vaccines he wants kids in schools, NYPD, FDNY, EMT, Nurses and Doctors will not be suspended, close down kill shelters and so on.

Do you really think someone endorsed by DeBlasio who wrecked the city along with Cuomo will be the better choice when he happily admitted that he will continue those policies and even capitalize on them?

I mean seriously these Democrats would rather vote in a Dictator than vote Republican simply due to the fact that they are a Republican candidate. Use your own brain and make your own decisions, why just let the media decide what they want you to think? Even Republicans would vote for a Democrat if the candidate was right as there were many Republicans who would have voted for Tulsi Gabbard if she made it to the Presidential Election (even against Trump). It should be the better candidate with better policies not just Rep. or Dem.

“Curtis is a loud mouth publicity seeker who would do anything for attention and not going to win in any event”

Common seychel, attention or not he was there for Jewish Communities and New Yorkers in times of high crime especially last year with the BLM movement he physically fought and even had to get stitches and endured a broken jaw. I would say he can get things done. The only issue I have with him is that on a few occasion on the radio and elsewhere he ranted pretty nastily on Jewish communities, yeshivas being supported, and money received not being distributed correctly and so on. Whether he thinks he has a point or not he should not have pointed these things out publicly he should have met with leaders behind closed doors, especially when he considers himself to be a friend of the Jews. Being a friend doesnt permit you to go bashing them on the other hand and hiding behind the excuse of being there at other times. He did apologize and even apologized again by Simchas Beis Hashoeva in videos you can see on youtube where he visited Boro Park/WIlliamsburg and Crown Heights, danced with everyone and apologized several times claiming he made a mistake and that he will not touch the Yeshivas which he respects. If thats a genuine apology I guess we can forgive as long as these rants dont surface again.

For anyone who has seen the debated, Adams looks like a robotic ventriloquist puppet and the fact that he tries to play off Curtis as a clown and ignore him, is simply due to the fact that he has nothing to say and nothing to prove Curtis wrong on the facts that have been shot at him. He couldnt even answer simple things such as where he lives and keeps smiling reminiscent of Hillary vs Trump which is a tactic used by the left to try and show their opponent isnt even worth their time. If you look at youtube comments on every video 99% say they are voting for Curtis Sliwa and even individuals claiming to be Democrat. Of course the media shows that he is losing in polls to discourage voters for Curtis, but just seeing those comments on youtube make it seem that there is no way Adams can win because people are seeing through his lies and scripted political BS. He even played the “my son was stopped by police and traumatized because he is black” card. Oh please we have heard that countless number of times from other failed politicians.

If anyone thinks Adams will help this city come back they are mistaken. He clearly said that he supports mandates and firing of officials and employees and will continue the mandates and forced vaccinations for children. Curtis said he will get rid of this nonsense and be tough on crime, help the homeless, close kill shelters, fire De Blasios team, get rid of unused bike lanes to lower traffic, get rid of speed cameras, and stop congestion pricing or at least lower it to a minimum once it starts. Dont forget the best NYC Mayors were Republican runners.

Well they are in constant war and funding a constant war costs a lot of money. You do realize that when America sends money Israel is obligated to buy aircraft and weapons from America only so in a way they get their money back. Aside for the intelligence they receive from Israel as well as keeping the middle east in check so that America doesn’t have to get involved

The question is would Israel be able to survive independent of others?

Adams is not a centrist he is a Liberal Left winger who puts up a front as if hes a centrist in order to appeal to all. The debate showed he had nothing to say when confronted other than acting as if he is too above everyone to answer. And of course the media manipulated his idiocy into claiming he was too much of an adult to reply to Sliwa. What a twisted world and since the people nowadays have no brain and base their decisions on what the media tell them to, we will likely see this Eric Adams in office to continue and possibly worsen De Blasios wreckage of the city. We all saw how empty Adams was and his policies of “following the rules” will bring destruction to all. Even De Blasio doesnt support vaccinating children.
