real-briskerMemberIf the parents let their son to be in such a rebbes shuir then whats the problem gnoy?
real-briskerMemberaries – Even if you use a cc with a limit which is within your budget, I still think its better to use a debit card beacuse it uses up the actual money, rather a cc just makes a chov, and you still can also use the money in the bank.
real-briskerMemberlabubby – your not being specific enough, the whole yeshivisha world speaks yeshivish!
real-briskerMemberWhat do you mean by yeshivish? Greasy, Farfrumet, Lomdush, Serious Learners?
real-briskerMembergeshmokster – You definetly didn’t sound like that in your OP.
real-briskerMemberbein hasdorim – Are you a mechanech? Are you a menahel, or rosh hayeshiva, or a mashgiach? Who are you to decide whats right or wrong on the yeshivas part?
real-briskerMemberIf your son is registered to the yeshiva, then he must abide to all the yeshivos rules and takonos. Thus being, if the yeshiva obligates thier bouchrim to attend thier 1st half program, being a talmid of the yeshiva he must go, if the yeshiva says its optional, than I guess its optional. I don’t think its up to the parents to decide the takonos of the yeshiva.
real-briskerMemberHealth – No I dont, but I do visit occasionaly and this is what I picked up, besides for the plenty of people that I know of that are not living this spoiled way.
real-briskerMemberTommorow seder was not canceled!

real-briskerMemberHow about after every thread is about to go off the most recent list, there should be a final answer to the OP question, like the most popular answer or suggestion should be put in right after the OP question.
real-briskerMemberYou definetly dont sound so simple!
real-briskerMembersmartcookie – Owning a cc doesn’t tempt to spend what you dont have?
real-briskerMemberHealth – Sorry to disagree with you, but lets take lakewood for example. The avg. kollel yungerman has an apt. for around $800 a month, A buick century, or a chevy impala, or some of the sort, and they are usually bought used and a good 10 yrs old. Well obviously no one these days no one is going to be driving a station wagon – cause they aint sell em any longer! But no, I dont think the avg lakewood couple is spoiled. I dont know where you are getting your sources from.
real-briskerMemberlands end, ll bean
real-briskerMemberLakewood Dude – Yes, I saw it he did an amazing job! What other videos did he act on?
real-briskerMemberWHO YOU FOOLING? Why are you asking if its good for shidduchim? Do you hold its right or wrong all together? If you hold its not something thats wrong then gizunta hiet why would it ruin your shiddchim. If you hold its wrong (and assuming that doesn’t bother you, just the shidduchim aspect is what bothers you) then WHY would you want to fool the person that you would go out with? What a sick world!
real-briskerMembergiving haircuts is a good money making
real-briskerMemberThere is 2 new supermarkets opening, the one in the car dealer ship I heard is going tto be a kollel supermarket (KRM). And the other one in pathmark I think is going to have shaychis with all fresh.
real-briskerMemberderech hamelech – usually a boucher means somonoe thats not married.
real-briskerMemberTutor, bind seforim, sell food, danishes, chulent Thursday nights, run a dry cleaning program.
real-briskerMemberHealth – There is two ways of looking at it, I dont think getting a car, apt, furniture is called being spoiled! These are basic things that are needed in order to live his own life. Where else should he get this from if he doesnt have a penny to his name? No I wouldnt call it being spoiled. However if he gets a fancy car, a house (not an apt.) Fancy furniture, yes that is spoiled. I dont think most parents do option b, rather the more unspoiled option a.
real-briskerMembertmb – thanks for the haskama (glad to see you agreeing with someone for a change)
real-briskerMembertmb – any reason why?
real-briskerMemberEveryone gets a shidduch to what they are.
real-briskerMemberWhy should friday night be different than any other night? There is a chiyuv of talmud torah every night. If it is that you are busy every night, and friday night is your only free night to learn, I think you should be nidcha one night of the following week, and set it aside to learn.
real-briskerMemberHealth – What do you mean by spoiling? How exactly do you spoil them?
real-briskerMembereclipse – i thought the winner asks the next question
real-briskerMemberThere
real-briskerMemberLakewood dude – Which video the one that they go back in time?
real-briskerMembereclipse I got 2 votes!
real-briskerMemberhashem hu helokim (after nielah on yom kipur)
real-briskerMemberHealth – Do you mean to say that parents arent being mechanech thier children properly? They are forgetting to teach them a very important key?
real-briskerMemberDerechHamelech – Very true, there are so many shparchs, and vertlach that are said in yiddish that cannot do justice when said in any other language.
real-briskerMemberposter – wow how did you have so much money at such a young age?
real-briskerMemberhealth -Self control is a basic staple to life, there is no one to blame but the eater.
real-briskerMemberRules are meant to be broken
real-briskerMemberitchesrulik- I dont think making it harder to figure out a tiech af a word is amaylus.
real-briskerMemberWhats it any different than spending $800 on a bugaboo stroller?
real-briskerMemberStop blaming people! Have some self control and don’t eat so much!
December 23, 2010 2:46 am at 2:46 am in reply to: How much money to shadchan for being set up 1x, 2x … #721211real-briskerMemberWhatever they charge
real-briskerMemberpba – i guess in israel they should learn from english artscroll!
real-briskerMemberitchesrulik – why is there more amaylus with the hebrew?
real-briskerMemberWolf – of course I would do someone a favor if no schar was granted, however my point is – If you have an option of 2 mitzvos, and one is a greater schar than the other, why not do the one that will recive more schar?
real-briskerMemberLakweood Dude – Whats wrong with $18, why you negating it as a cheap jew.
real-briskerMembermidwestern- Its more then tiech they throw i havana too.
real-briskerMemberBP Totty – Your son is saying a morahdike yisod in gantz yidishkiet. I actually heard my Rosh Yeshiva say something along these lines – A bouchr was whistleing, so he called the bouchr over and said to him “Einer vus fiefed iz nisht a goy, uber a goy fifed” Meaning – “one who whistles is not a goy, but a goy whistles” I think your son is implying the same with the tzitzis out!
