February 6, 2011 5:03 am at 5:03 am in reply to: How Many Seconds After Havdalah Did YOU Check In? #879041real-briskerMemberhummingbird – Firstly, test the fax machine out on a different phone line, if you dont have try by a neighbor or someone just to make sure its not the fax machine. If the fax works then there is probaly a problem with the phone lines, why wouldnt you call your company that you get servicee from?
real-briskerMembermewhere – I know its muttar, but I still think that its different than eating the udder, where by eating the udder you are merely enjoying the flavor, but by eating milk and meat together its more than just the flavor, “Its milk and meat”
real-briskerMemberno, the op said either the editor or a writer.
real-briskerMemberusualy the opposite of yishivish
real-briskerMembereclipse – Your paying?
real-briskerMemberaries – I actually know a shul in monsey – Rav Schlessinger shul that costed well over 7 million dollars, and the rov was totaly behind it, he brought down from seforim, thay a shul is supposed to be the nicest building in the city. Also he said that its a bizayon if the the Baal Habatim that daven there, if their houses would be nicer then shul.
real-briskerMemberY.W. Editor – Are you 100% sure?
real-briskerMemberDaniel – I agree with u about thomy
real-briskerMemberI found that the mharsha in chidushei agados in chulin 109b, is bothered by with what I was assuming, he explains that one might have thought that all these things that have somthing similar why are they muttar, lichora if hashem wanted it to be assur, for example he gives like blood the genorah in maakos says is miyus, so then why would a liver be muttar? and the same should apply with milk and meat, and on this he goes on to explain that there is no reason why things are assur, rather only because it is mitzvas hamlech, annd thet we are commanded so. But I still doubt that one will find any rov eating a fake cheese burger. Just note that that she was told to eat the utter which has no connection to milk and meat but the taste, I am curious if fake chesse was around in those days if she would be told to et a chesse burger.
real-briskerMemberThank you for bringing up this gemorah in chulin, I will iyh learn up this sugya over shabbos, with what the rishonim have to explain on it.
real-briskerMemberwolf – I assured that a few posts earlier to onegoal.
real-briskerMembermikehall – I am serious about my posts, I dont post anything that I dont preach.
real-briskerMemberWolf – We have halachos that say certain things are assur, goyim don’t have these issurium and are allowed to eat milk and meat, so yes by us wanting to eat milk and eat together is exactly acting like the goyim.
real-briskerMemberone goal – Correct
real-briskerMembercookie – Isn’t one of things you look out for while dating is that you both share the same hashkafas?
real-briskerMemberKosher chinnese, pizza, sushi, choclate… there is nothing inevitably wrong with, it just doesn’t have a hechsher, Fake Milk and Meat is trying to copy something that is assur.
real-briskerMembermikehall – I realised you started this thread cause of my post!
real-briskerMemberY.W. Editor – how would you know?
real-briskerMemberWolf – There is a reason Hashem said its assur, we dont know why, but maybe that reason could apply here as well, so although technically its not assur, It might not be the right thing!
real-briskerMemberImagine you were to get engaged to someone you frequently disagree with – what would be?
real-briskerMemberyossi – good point, If it was getting serious you wouldn’t mention before you get engaged?
real-briskerMemberWolf – I did not mean it literally, I meant that if the torah assured Milk and Meat than why does one have to find a loophole to eat it together?
real-briskerMemberDaas – Oh! C’mon I didn’t chap! Thanks (I was wondering when you told me :-))
real-briskerMemberMuh Rabu Masecha Hashem!
real-briskerMemberWolf – What did you think I mean with milk and meat?
real-briskerMemberyummy cupcake – At least there are a few people here with good haskofos!
real-briskerMemberDerech Hamelech – You beat me to it again!
real-briskerMemberDerech – Well said
real-briskerMemberI was wondering the same thing.
real-briskerMemberThe torah says not to cook milk and meat together, does one need to find a way out of this?
real-briskerMemberSjs – Sure it brings to an income, he can become a Rov, Rebbi, Rosh Hayeshiva, Dayin, Shoel Umayshiv, Mashgiach (for hashgacha)… The list goes on…
real-briskerMemberI dont think being in kollel is any different than being in college (in this respect)
real-briskerMemberThe most despicable thing I ever heard of. Why do we have to act like goyim, eat like goyim???
February 3, 2011 7:54 pm at 7:54 pm in reply to: Everyone is "amazing"- how can you tell who really has great Midos? #736589real-briskerMemberIf they dont just say “amazing”, If they really express their thoughts about it, then you know its true.
real-briskerMemberMayo is one of the best things on earth!
real-briskerMemberI wouldnt mind a drink!
real-briskerMemberIf they *DESREVE THEM LEAGALY* then yes, and there is nothing to be embaressed of, its just like you are not embaressed to benefit from all other goverment services. Otherwise if you do not qualify for them legaly its probaly assur.

real-briskerMemberThe Goq – I’m with you on that
real-briskerMemberDaas – No I am not his boss, but I guess he took the wrong job then.
real-briskerMemberMidwest – You must agree that the *MAIN* tafkid of a yid on this world is torah. Thus being yeshiva bouchrim are fullfilling this, no doubt on that. However you are definetly right that other should not be looked down upon for this reason.
real-briskerMemberThe Goq – Sorry that you feel that way 🙁
real-briskerMember1day – What do you think?
real-briskerMemberWolf – But the clock doesnt tick quicker the older you get!
real-briskerMemberMoney is nice and appreciated, BUT a gift will always be remembered.
real-briskerMemberkavod – I would not disrespect a Yeshiva bochur that smokes, more then I would disrespect a Baal Habus that smokes.
real-briskerMemberDaas and Always – The Goq’s Job is to take the phone calls in his yeshiva. Now if someone is upset at whoever it is – even though they are not upset at The Goq, they are yelling at him because he is the one hired to answer the phone, and he is the one that is hired to accept complaints. Now whoever is that person that answers the phone they will yell at. Nothing personal to him, no reason for anyone to feel abused or hurt. (I definetly would not fell hurt or abused)
real-briskerMemberalways here – Thank you for showing everyone your true colors
real-briskerMembernolashonhora – You do have a choice, You stated that you want to spend Yom Tov home with the kids, Don’t forget that your In Laws also want to spend yom tov with their kids, and grandchildren!
