The best and most chumradika eitza would be to just grow a beard! But if you are not holding ther than either you should shave over the sink, not over the mirror! Or you can get a trimmer that has a suction vacume in the back, (they usually dont work as well)

Simple answer – Regarding the shidduch obviously your daughter is not marrying the shver, so it doesnt make a diffrnce to your daughter what his learning status is. Regarding your husband its poshut that he should stay in kollel the question has regarding himself, not somone else!

mosherose – you misseed the boat! what wolf was saying was is that he doesnt hold of himself as the biggest talmid chochom in the world, which is a huge mailah, you can see his anivus and humility. You on the other hand are saying that one has to hold of himself as the biggest godal hador, and there is pushit no room to improve, nebach! Do you hold of yourself as greater than Reb chaim Kanivevsky ?

A ben torah is exactly what the words say -“A son of the torah” which means he is “ein shtick toeah aroom un aroom” It doesnt have to be learning X hours a day, (in lomdus we say “its not the kammos its the eichus”) all it is, is living a life the way the torah want you to.

Does that mean that those people that dont put away seforim is because they dont have a spare minute in the day? Halivie! Every second is Mamish tied up? I dont think there is anyone that can’t find 1 minute out of his liesure time to take off to put away seforim. (no one says it must be taken off of your learning time)

shlomozalmen – Bimechilas Kavodchach, Im sorry put the stiepler seems to be arguing with you, he calls it achzuries, and one who does so is a RUSHA. Besides to put a sefer away takes maybe a minute, to search for a sefer can take many many more minutes.

The happiest people in the world are, the ones that learn serious, there is nothing else that gives somone a bigger sipuk hanefesh other than torah. (i’m talking from experince) nothing else makes you feel more accomplished.

I’m not such a fan of buying in bulk although it does come out cheaper, beacuse the metzias is it just gets used up quicker. Thats the facts! Did you ever realize when you are a the begining of a toothpaste for example, When the tube is full you use beravchus… All of the sudden when its at the end, you squeeze out of it mamish until its totaly empty. Same thing with everything big. So even though they might be cheaper in the long run its equal (maybe even more expensive) But I am defintly a fan of costcos gas its about .25 cents cheaper than the regular pump price! You do not have to be a member to buy gas from them.

fief un – It is obvious that the teacher is reffering to people that just “Do The Daf” and yes you are right she is also reffering to the people that “Do Kollel” that you described that are in kollel and shmuzing texting during seder etc. This is not what a serious person is about, Its pushet that there is nothing wrong with daf yomi – A Person could spend first and second seder on daf yomi, This is ot what the teacher was talking about, There is no such thing that if somone leanrs daf yomi he must be a am haretz! As you stated in your question real, serious learning daf yomi is not a stirah to serious learning.

There is nothing wrong with daf yomi, What the teacher was reffering to was the people thst “Do the Daf” – which is going to the nightly daf shuir and have the snack and coffe, and are texting and who knows what, and thats it they do the rest of the day, all they are doing it is abi tzum yotzea zien!

sbh – yes it was reffering to tzitis which in other words are known as tallis katan. On your comment to bptotty – It (usually as far as im concerened) isnt the father that goes under the talis by the chupa it is the son or daughter, so i think he still qouted what he uses his talis for correcty.

I actulaly heard a shmuz from a adom godal – that it is the gresta kavod for tzitis to wear them while playing any sports etc. that get you sweated up!

HLM – Why is it not nice wiping your glasses in a talis? Is the talis getting dirty from it? You are just merely wiping it clean! Its not like you ae blowing your nose in the talis! I dont see why for any reason it should be assur, its not at all a bizayon. And besides the Minchas Chinuch states there is no commandment to wear tzitis, the only commandment is a garment which is 4 cornered should have tzitis on it. The beged/garment is just a tufal to the iker mitzvah.

Jewish people, not just children should not step foot into a public library. There is so much shmutzideka garbage there that should not be exposed to them or any yiddisha neshama. There should not be needed a way to stop them from inappropiate matireal. They should just not be going there – its just like you dont need to stop them from going into a church etc.
