Neveh Yerushalayim has programs for girls who want to come for a short time (but im not sure if they have anything for Beis Yaakov girls.

Go to a decent seminary go to some of the thousands of English Speaking kollel families living in Eretz Yisroel for Shabbos (many from modern backgrounds whose parents initially would not agree to offer any support) and find out how they are doing it and how long the average does it for. Does the wife have a degree? how did she get it? Did parents come around? etc Hashem certainly doesnt lack funds to be able to take care of the thousands of kollel families I’m pretty sure one more young couple wont break his bank. There is nothing greater for your marriage and for your future progeny than spending the first few years of your marriage in a kollel setting. Husband learning and you and him being mosser nefesh for Torah. Good Luck

there is afamous story of the saneigar shel Yisroel Hatzadik Rav Levi Yitzchok MiBarditchev.

In Russia there was a law that the growth of Tabbaco plant was illegal. One erev Pesach Rav Levi Yizchok asked his shamash to see if he could round up any tobacco from the local Jews. It turned out that many Jews had found ingenious ways to camouflage their growing of tobacco and the shamash came back with a plentiful supply of tobacco.

Then Rav Levi Yitchok asked his shamash to try to find some beer from the local Jews. He searched high and low and was not able to find even the smallest amount. He returned and told Rav Levi Yitchok that he could not find any beer, to which the Barditchever repiled, “Mi Keamcha Yisroel”

So to answer your question and to try to be a saneigar for Klal Yisroel especially at a time when we have enough Kitrug Yes if tabacco was found to be assur Behanaah (which would cause the smoking of it to be assur Jews would stop smoking (or would very quickly find a acceptable alternative.

blios of bugs would be batul and therefore smoking them would not be a problem and they would only be assur beachila at most and therefore not a problem to burn and breathe the smoke

A beautiful and politically savvy speech the kind that could only come from the likes of the Nachash Hakadmoni. Connive the enemy by chanifah. “Hashem only doesnt want you to eat from the tree because then you will be as great as him and hes afraid of that”. At leat we know he has some bible education.

i happen to have such a map. It is the size of two posters with pretty small font. It is included in a book of jewish history that maps out jewish history according to area and leaders of the time. (i dont recall the name of the book but it includes these maps. You could certainly get started on wikipedia. as well.

Rav Pinkus’ seforim are phenomenal. Specifically Shabbos Malkesah (which will give you a completely refreshing look at Shabbos) and many other seforim that have been rewritten from his shiurim.

the story goes like this. She used to say hello to everyone walking by. A certain Egyptian who she would say hello to liked her. He impregnated her and beat her husband with Moshe Rabbeinu watching and Moshe killed the Egyptian. Later her son blasphemed G-d in front of klal Yisroel. So it is possible that it is not assur. but the torah is certainly “suggesting” otherwise

Since one who partakes in the seuda of a pidyon haben is considered to have fasted 84 fasts. therefore we give out things that have strong flavor so that you could put them in another food and serve the food to many other to allow them to partake in the seuda as well.

Yichusdik- What “seems” to be so blatantly obvious to you apparently isn’t as obvious to the Gedolei Hador. Maybe they are not aware of that Rambam or that pasuk mefureshes in the Bamidbar. Perhaps you could enlighten them. Or perhaps forgetting all of the politics in which they meddle a lot less than the secular leaders, they are actually (based on Torah and Halachah) correct, and religious Jews do not belong serving. It might behoove you to try to understand where they are coming from, as opposed to trying to convince the world of your own personal opinion by using misconstrued mekoros. But you could be right, as it is a Meforesh Rambam

Shlishi- i love the R’ Chaim writes in his seforim bit. Which sefer has he written on this topic i would love to see it. as a matter of fact i am sending someone to him tomorrow to ask the mekor on all of these things.

There is no question eliyahu hanavi comes to the Seder (that was never up for discussion) we know he comes but we don’t open the door for him.

As for women drinking from havdalah I’ve never seen it. Just because i heard it doesn’t mean there is a mekor.

we open the door at the seder to show it is leil shimurim and that we are trust in hashem and not in our door

o See Shulchan Aruch Aruch Chaim Siman 480 Sif 2

Sounds like very reliable information. I knew one person…. I knew another person…. Seems to account for the thousands upon thousands of yechidim who are making Torasam Umnasam. I’m so surprised to hear this issue brought up I’ve never heard it discussed before and by a person who is proud modern orthodox. It must be that he understands how the yeshiva world works and he’s genuinely looking to make a change. We all appreciate your pure intentions But I’ll bet if you’ll search well in your own backyard you might just be able to find something you need to work on and not look to fix the problems of a world that you have no understanding of or connection to.

bp27- I discussed this issue wih my Rav and he agreed that there is an issue with giving kids too much freedom. However he explained that the dedication to torah life that the teachers in Israel have and the homes she will go to will far outweigh the drawbacks. That was one of the reservations that i myself had.

the vilna gaon gave up the comfort of his home in vilna where everything was hunky dory to travel to eretz yisroel, the ramban gave his life to enter the land, how many great holy members of our lofty history would have given their lives to touch the holy ground of eretz yisoel.

I think we should stop sending our children to the land where Hashem calls home and he rests in reality so we can spend our 21,000 on a seminary or course in the U.S. why try to fix the corrupt way we have of looking at Eretz Yisroel, rather we should just forget the whole thing. I imagine your daughter also went to summer camp and was also home sick. she got over it quickly and has never sat at home complaining to you about those terrible summers you made her go away as she suffered through the whole thing. perhaps instead of blaming the concept of going to seminary (everyones doing it) maybe check the values that you have instilled into your child. perhaps if she thought that going to israel was like winning the lottery (probably the way you grandparents who never made it there felt)she might have approached the whole situation with a very different attitude. rather she has a parent who wishes she hadn’t gone and scorns the entire concept.

the gemara in pesachim 113: says that who doesnt eat from a seudas mitzvah is considered in cheirem from shamayim. Tosfos expalains that it talking about a seudas bris since one who eats from a seudas bris is saved from the Dina Shel Gehenom (judgement of pergatory) the Rama in Hilchos milah says therefore one who doesnt eat from a seudah of a bris is considered in a “cheirem” from Shamayim ( which is one of the reasons why we don’t specifically invite people to a bris)According to Harav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach taking food from the bris and eating it elsewhere is still considered eating form the bris while his Mechutan Harav Yosef Shalom Eliashiv opines that once the food is taken from the place of the bris it is no longer considered as part of the bris meal.
