It was rather smart of Biden to wait until after the Republican National Convention but before the DNC to step down.

The Republicans spent their entire convention and 10s of millions hammering Biden, only for him to step down right before the DNC. Stepping down after the DNC would’ve spelled disaster for the party.

It really was masterfully strategic timing.

Ladies and Gentlebeings, I give you the Blunder Bird, a species that flaps its feathers in the face of danger… and usually face-plants into it.

Imagine a creature with a body rounder than a beach ball, legs shorter than a dwarf, and wings that would make a bumblebee blush. You now have a Blunder Bird. These birds are as graceful as a hippopotamus in a tutu, making their attempts at flight as successful as a three-legged dog in a sack race.

The Blunder Bird’s beak is larger than its brain, causing it to frequently poke itself in the eye, or drop the worm it worked so hard to catch. Its feathers are as sparse as a bald man’s hairline, making it look like it’s just finished a round of chemotherapy.

Despite these setbacks, the Blunder Bird remains as optimistic as a Vogon at a poetry contest. It continues to try and fly, even though it knows it’ll end up as a tasty treat for the local raptors. But its antics are so charming, even the most cynical of creatures can’t help but smile at its comical displays.

In conclusion, the Blunder Bird may be the evolutionary equivalent of a laughing stock, but its indomitable spirit and contagious joy make it a beloved creature in the animal kingdom… and in the hearts of those who appreciate the absurd.

    That is your opinion.

Rather than look to do away with Torah learning, which is completely the wrong hashkafa, perhaps we should look at our forefathers during this crisis for a solution (as Klal Yisroel has always done). If you do I think you’ll find polygamy to be the answer.

It’s sad how people are so convinced it was the gossiping that lead to suicide. Not the inability of facing the music.

It’s also sad how people are so keen to believe the accused, in face of an overwhelmingly number of accusers. Burying their heads in the sand, pretending these abuses don’t happen within our communities. Citing the need for irrevocable proof. The word of two witnesses was enough for beis din, yet now we tell ourselves 20+ people are in cahoots with eachother just to besmirch the name of an individual.

It’s this burying our heads in the sand is exactly what enables abusers to get away with what they’re doing.

I’ve yet to come across someone from a first world country with socialized medicine that would prefer the US system.

Care is never worse in these countries. There is always the option of private medical insurance(and seemingly for far cheaper than it would cost in the US). But with socialized medicine, it ensures everyone has at least basic medical coverage.

    What an intelligent comment…

    Because this apparently needs explaining:
With cars, the benefits are obvious and far outweigh their risks.

With guns though, their primary purpose is to be used to defend oneself from other people with guns. Hence why gun control may be the solution. You know, like most developed countries.

Sidney Powell’s filings are a joke.

They read terribly. The sentences appear to have been spliced together, erroneously divided with misplaced full stops or end with closing quotation marks that were never opened and are filled with debunked conspiracy theory hogwash.

Like the primary source for the complaint’s claims about Dominion’s supposed Venezuelan connection appears to be a Wall Street Journal article from 2006.

My question is how so many people on YWN are convinced there was election fraud without there being any concrete evidence proving so?

    Um, I don’t think you’re following.

The fact is, 2 cases alleging specifically to voter fraud were brought to court, both thrown out for lack of evidence.

And much like Trump you can close your eyes and block your ears in the face of fact, but that doesn’t change the reality.

Chatham County, Georgia, Judge James Bass dismissed a petition that certain ballots were recieved after the deadline.

The only case the GOP has some related to better access for election observers.

    But sure. I’m lying.

I can’t believe people on here actually believe the nonsense that Biden somehow cheated in the election.

It’s been to court twice thus far, and both cases were thrown out for lack of evidence. One of which, the ruling was a one liner. Guiliani’s cases this week will prove to be about as watertight.

And the Trump campaign know this too. The only reason they’re spreading these rumors is to have people to donate to their Election “Defense” Fund.

The reason for that can be found within the small print on the Trump campaigns website. Within the small print it states that 50% of these donations go towards paying down the election campaign’s debt.

This only “fraud” is the Trump campaign’s last ditched grift for money.

And unlike most of the debunked rumors many of you lot are parroting, what I’ve said can be verified easily enough on Trump campaign website.

    The “normal” cold isn’t COVID-19.

A cold can be caused by any of about 200 different viruses. These could be Rhinoviruses, human parainfluenza virus, adenovirus, respiratory syncytial virus amongst others.

And yes, some colds can be caused by about 6 types of coronvirus, none of these viruses to date were anything quite like COVID-19. Both genetically and how they make people sick.

To conflate the common cold with COVID-19 would be like saying all vegetables are carrots.

Because the rioters may be left leaning, doesn’t mean all left leaning are rioters (or support rioting)
    Joe Biden on May 31st:

“Protesting such brutality is right and necessary. It’s an utterly American response. But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not.”

    On June 2nd:
“There’s no place for violence, no place for looting or destroying property or burning churches or destroying businesses […] we need to distinguish between legitimate peaceful protest and opportunistic violent destruction”

    On August 30th:
“The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable .as a country we must condemn the incitement of hate and resentment that led to this deadly clash. It is not a peaceful protest when you go out spoiling for a fight.”

Yet the Republicans are so keen to say what you just did in order to besmirch the left. As Jason Miller, advisor to Trump so blatantly lied in the following statement:
“Joe Biden has sat idly by for months, refusing to condemn violence and chaos from his allies in Democrat-run cities.”

Why should people quarantine more than they have to? Why should testing not be done because they are sometimes not available. And most importantly, why exactly do you see testing

Because asking people to stay home for 14 days (along with the people they live with) every time they develop a cough, isn’t realistic and will not be followed. Asking people to quarantine until test results come in as negative is.

Why this is so difficult to understand and such a terrible thing is beyond me.

    Sure. That’s great thinking.
Why not just completely live in denial? Let COVID do its thing and whoever does dies?

The point of testing, as it apparently it isn’t obvious to you, is to ensure the individual (that either may have been exposed, or showing symptoms) to test and if positive continue to isolate in order to not spread the virus to others.

Statistics is not the primary purpose of testing.

    1. Who are the non political medical community? Scientists of other countries? Countries whose politicians aren’t petty enough to politicise a pandemic? Because many of them (especially the likes of South Korea and Vietnam who are handling this so much better) all encourage mask wearing.

    2. Much like Trump champions the use of Hydroxyclorquinie, a “non proven” treatment, why not encourage the use of masks which, by the science we do have, have a good chance of slowing the spread of the virus?

    3. You refer to better advice then masks. What exactly is this advice??
