    I don’t know halachially but I do know you can’t change people. People have to wanna change themselves, so if you take his ecig he’ll just buy a new one. You gotta show him how what he’s doing is bad and he’s gotta come to the conclusion to change.

    My rebbi when he was a bachur asked Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkle if he should go to the airport to greet his parents because there is prust, Reb Nosson told him to stop being a baby and go to the airport (with a smile and pinched his cheeks) moral of the story is don’t be to righteous. As well going home creates huge opportunities for growth, your gonna be challenged in areas that tour usually not challenged with (kibad av, learnings gonna be different) if someone succeeds bein hazmanom he’s showed himself exactly what he’s made of, something with isn’t really shown in the walls of a yeshiva.
