WIY- I hear you , I have the same problem- yes its a problem!
I never noticed I did it until one friend put me in my place. In essence what we are saying to the speaker is that we couldn’t care less about what they are saying. (its probably a bit of ADD)
If you are doing it the shidduch way than you would go through the shadchan which is a big part of making our life less complicated when things don’t work out. However if you dated a while and are/was emotionally invested I believe the right thing to do is speak to him directly (over the phone will probably be easier then face to face)
I was on the other side of your story. The guy called me to break it off and gave his reasons. I was terribly hurt but took it with grace and thanked Hashem for a while after (and still today) that it didn’t work out.
Comparing is a natural normal thing which can be good in helping you build a healthy relationship but can also be destructive. Because you dated this guy for a while you will definitely be doing a lot of comparing. If you give yourself time before you meet someone else the less likely the comparing will be destructive.

How is this antisemitism? About 100 kids were acting rowdy,and unruly in public on an aircraft were there is strict protocol. Do I think the action taken against this behavior is antisemitism? No! Do I think they need an education? Yes!

I once went to an Israeli family for shabbos, so you can imagine all the chumus, tehina and other Israeli foods we were fed. I was repulsed when I saw the hostess washing out all of our plastic ware. Forks, knives, plates, cups – you name it!
Rest assured, our plates felt quite slimy the next day. Ugh, washing plastic utensils are a big nono.
Most people buy plastic for convenience, the convenience is to throw them out. If your already washing them out why not use regular dishes?
I never thought the CR can make me so mad. I don’t deny that torah and religion is the truth and nothing but the truth. However, when someone goes off the derech , at that point in their life religion is NOTHING to them. To me whats important when seeing such people, is knowing at least they are in a HEALTHY place, “happy” with themselves and what their doing, feeling fulfilled. At this point in their life its not about religioun anymore!! Its sad but this is the harsh truth. It sickens me to think that people would rather see these yordim suffer with themselves and destroy there existence for the slight possibility that there will be a return. Obviously people go through fazes but when you hit 21 if your not heading back yet chances are its not happening anytime soon.

DaasYochid – I said turned off. The issur of creating a chillul Hashem is not only amongst non-Jews , its amongst your fellow brethren as well. The reason why I am saying this is because many times we have to do things that non-jews think are completely absurd and look down at us for(i.e.bris mila, davening in public) but in this case , it goes both ways and is obviously not halacha.If one wants to be machmir – let them do it in their own dalid amos.
No matter what reason he had, in my humble opinion this is a CHILUL HASHEM and no I am not worried what the goyim think. If I was on an airplane only with religious Jews I would still very much be turned off by this mans actions.
Can I ask you guys a question , um.. like why do people aggressively snap gum as if their chewing is inherently controlling a bomb from exploding?
