I have a digital Graco. It’s great. You can see on the screen if there is connection. Plus, when it detects sound, you hear it and your piece also vibrates. So if I put my baby to sleep, i can wear it on my skirt like a cell phone (a bit bigger) and even if its under my sweater and the baby is only whimpering I can feel teh vibration.

I bought it in Target for like $70.00.

$40.00, which was very basic, but did the trick, if I as downstairs and my baby was sleeping upstairs.

Basically, no offense to previous posters I dont think I would need a picture one for a sleeping baby, unless u use it for letting your baby play alone in the room.

Torah613Torah, thnk you very much. Please spread the word.

    Cheaper gifts:

aleph beis puzzles, nice judaica coloring book with crayons, A cute children’s CD such as Marvelous Middos Machine, Uncle Moishy…., plush shabbos set which includes a stuffed becher challah and candles.

    More expensive but appreciated:

Judaica: mini challah cover – my son uses it every shabbos and is so proud, a silver plated little becher, kids size tallis, Brachos book – this is adorable – there are pictures of diff foods and buttons to press and you hear the bracha played out loud.

Non Judaica the possibilties are endless, any type of toy, fire truck with lights, kids tool box, train set.

Hope this is helpful, no I do not own a toy store, but I made an upsherin about a year ago.

Do you have an inkling of how much money they save by having these new meters, think into it.

    1) meter maids dont need to collect from 10 meters on 1 block. Just take out the money from each meter. Times that by hundreds of blocks.

    2) No one can park on anyone elses left over meter time.

3)Chances are you put in more money than you actually park, there is a lot of overlapping being paid. The old meters could make only a limited amount per day, only as many hours as there are.

It sounds like this is petty money, “how much do u make from quarters”, but just think of ALL the blocks, even quarters add up!

Our taxes will probably go down now 😉

Amazon does a terrible dis-service to all businesses. They sell at a price that others cannot compete with and thereby put everyone else out of business! Its terrible!

I agree with you and I used to keep thinking of that when I read some of these teenage rants about their teachers.

anon1m0us, you can give advice, but I cringe when posters start bashing the OPs teachers and rebbeim after only hearing one side of the story. Many times with your “advice” and “good intentions” you end up riling up the teenager even more than she/he herself already is for a situation that is totally one ended.

I find costco too expensive as some have mentioned. You can never walk out of there with just a few items bec everything seems like such a bargain!

Paperific in BP also has great prices and is very convenient.

I live in Israel and save by knowing prices an getting items where they are chepa. I try to shop on sale but since we dont have a car I am limited to the three or four local supermarkets in walking distance.

I also dont buy in bulk unless there is an amazing special, I buy for the week what we need.

    1) GET A PROFESSIONAL! No offense, I am sure your wife is doing a great job, but if she misses one nit when she is combing, the whole problem starts again. My children have had lice, the rule is I try combing, if I still find after the third day, I go to a professional. It is expensive but it’s worth it.

    2) Precaution – I am sure you COMBED the rest of your children (checking is not enough this is too catchy), changed the linen, towels, bagged the brushes, washed and dryed her coat. Anything that came in contact with the hair(Nits do not die in water so washing machine is not enough)…..Yes, it is a big job, but this is how you get rid of it.

    3) you must call the school or playgroup and make sure that the whole class is checked PROFESSIONALLY.

Squeak is so right! Pple that have good voices, are more proud of their voices than the public needing their services. I would say your friends problem is more of a low self esteem issue. Let her engage in other hobbies where she can produce something tangible, such as knitting, painting, making a nice puzzle. I may be wrong. just voicing my opinion

Pasta is very cheap and filling and one pkg makes a lg quantity, not sure about how loaded with nutrients though.

Canned veggies are also very cheap and make great side dishes. Such as

    1) mix of corn and pickles with mayo and garlic.

    2) Saute canned green beans with an onion soy sauce and garlic

    3) Beans are full of protien, so adding canned beans to a soup make it flavorful and full of protien.

I probably fall into the lower middle class catigory. I have no problem with the ads. In fact I think the manufacturers pay towrds the ads, not the jewelry stores themselves.

WIY, please understand that e/o is trying to make a living,

    1) manufacturer for creating the wathc

    2) the store for selling the watch

    3) the magazine for advertising the watch

And you care to stop it?

You want to wear a 40,000 watch and drive a 2,000,000 car – go right ahead! I’ll continue wearing my ESQ.

There is a certain mag that I buy, mainly for he serial. These serials have to be interesting enough, suspensful, somewhat real life to capture the audience. There have been serials in the past that I started reading and then stopped following if they didnt interest me. So the magazines need to write about whatever it takes to pull an audience.

Morah Rach: I am in a similar situation where my in laws give each of their married couples a certain stipend each month and we do not get, I think their reason is because they think my job provides enough and we do not need their help. I got married with a good job B”H and so they never started with us. Couples before and subsequent ones get a stipend from them every month.

My motto is “They owe me nothing” SOmetimes its hard, and sometimes it gets sticky but I keep thinking they are nice pple and they dont owe me anything. Here and there they buy gifts for the children.

I used to think maybe they don’t have enough to give, but the children is the family that got married after us get this stipend. It is only my husband and I that dont get. B”H I still have a great relationship with them.

I heard something very beautiful from Reb Feldbrand.

Her house had no power for and extended period of time. SHe sat areound with her family in the dark and she told them that when the power will be returned, it will come all at once, the fridge the lights, the freezer everything will be restored at the same second. They knew the power company was working on it, so she said at any second we will out of the dark!

So too, must we wait for Moshiach! At any second he can and will come! And when Moshiach come the light will be restored to all! B’mheira B’yameinu Amen!

A man came to visit a Rav that was not well to do the mitzvah of bikur cholim. WHen he got to the Rav’s house he saw the rav sitting by the table learning. He was all better. The man sighed and said, “What a shame that you are better, I wanted to do the mitzvah of bikur cholim.”

When we do a mitzvah, we need to remember that it is for the other person, not ourselves. You should be THRILLED that there is enough NEW clothing for these suffering people, and they do not need to further lose their dignity by wearing used stuff. I can’t imagine where a slap in the face comes in.
