Whenever it comes to answering back or challenging authority, and sometimes there is a time for that, be careful not to do so in anger or rage. YOU are the example for your child! Ultimately, ur reaction this time will be your child’s reaction to you in a time of disagreement Or the way your child will lash out in camp when u r not there.
PosterMemberDo people think Brown is innocent?
I dont understand the riots.
Can someone please explain?
Should Wilson have waited until he was on the floor beaten before he takes action.
PosterMemberSam Klein I wouldn’t worry as much about the addiction to news sites as I would worry about working on a non filtered computer.
November 21, 2014 5:10 pm at 5:10 pm in reply to: #Dating a guy who works a behind the counter job #1044253PosterMemberI wanted to finish up some shabbos cooking at around 7 am and realized I was out of some staples.
I ran to my corner grocery and sure enough a Young worker was at the cashier. Since I have been following this thread, it made me realize that this guy woke up early, had to have been davened by 6:45 when the grocery opens up. That takes a lot of responsibility.
PosterMemberMy father sells cars, someone came over to him and said “Another car dealer owes me money so I will buy a car by him but i wanted to know if you can sit with me and compare all the advantages and disadvantages of a couple of different models so I will know what to choose when I buy it by this other guy”
My father, the tzaddik that he is, gave him an hour of his time as he asked this question and that.
Parnusah is from Hashem.
PosterMemberI think Miriam Israeli made it up
PosterMemberChaimy, I tried putting the traps across the full doorway and I had seen the mouse leave so we were sure this would be a sure catch. We stood watching to see what would happen we saw teh muse run in and somehow avoid the traps. I think since each trap has a white border where its not sticky the mouse went in between.
This saga kept us busy.
PosterMemberI dated a boy a bunch of times and had a very specific hesitation. Finally I decided I needed to speak to my rav that was out of town for 3 days.
I told the shadchan that I need 3 days until my rav is back in town.
The boy got hurt/upset that I was keeping him “on hold”. He said its not mentchlich to keep a shidduch mid-way on standstill.
When I told my hesitations to the rav he advised me to continue with the shidduch, but by this time the boy was no longer interested in me.
I was heartbroken and so was he as I heard later from his relative. That shidduch never happened. I took this whole saga very hard throughout my dating years. I thought this boy was for me. It wasn’t easy at that time.
“Gam Ze Ya’avor”
PosterMemberThe glue traps i have been successful in catching mice with have no bait at all. Only the totally flat ones have worked for me, so the mice run over it and get caught. I tried many diff baits, as I mentioned earlier, which the mice didn’t go for.
Also, I originally tried a glue trap that had raised sides for easy handling. No mouse would step up onto it. (didnt I mention I tried A LOT of diff things 😉 )
One thing I learnt is that mice are smart. They are keen in figuring out their environment. Their sharp sense of danger makes them avoid any questionable trap. They proceed with caution and then run.
Hashem gives them survival skills.
PosterMemberA filter is not a policeman. It is there to help you navigate the web without chancing upon “dangerous sites”
Anyone working for hours to break passwords and get around filters, will need a lot more than K9 or any of these other filters can accomplish.
PosterMemberI have had at least 8 baited traps, not one mouse went for it. I tried peanut butter, cheese, chocolate syrup and out of desperation I even paid 3 bucks for a special liquid bait made to lure mice onto traps made by a company that sells traps . No luck. The only mice I caught were on glue traps. Yes, it’s horrible.
Believe me I tried many other things. Nothing has worked. I would post pictures if I could of the different contraptions I bought in Shoprite.
Even before this human and inhumane discussion, I simply wanted to try everything.
They don’t enter cages and cavities. These mice somehow are able to smell danger.
I am not endorsing any cruel behaviors, but just saying what worked and what didn’t work for the mice in my apartment. And with all these catches, I am not positive that I am done.
PosterMemberwhat type of trap will a mouse go into that it can be transported and released elsewhere?
Do u think a mouse will walk itself into a cage?
PosterMemberFor all those that have Humane suggestions of getting it into a bag and let it loose or other sorts of humane traps, maybe you have never experienced these super fast creatures! They are so fast there is no way I could catch one in a bag!
Nor do they enter or prance into your set up humane traps. I have one set of two traps that have two little entry ways with only ability to get in and not out. (indicator of when a mouse is inside) Never had a mouse enter it.
They are fast and shrewd. So although it sounds ideal, “catch him in a garbage pail, put on the lid and let him free outdoors” unfortunately, not realistic. Even poison didn’t work. they simply didn’t touch it. These guys go for real stuff. We saw one running with a corn chip.
The ideal is to get the house mouse proofed so they cant come in altogether. Once they’re inside…just trying to do what works.
PosterMembermetrodriver, thanks for the good word. I was really (and still am) embarrassed.
So far since we caught those mice I havnt seen any. I am not keeping my hopes high yet. The exterminator’s price was reasonable and it includes a year guarantee.
PosterMemberRebYidd23, sometimes doing the right thing hurts.
The exterminator suggested a plan, including poison etc.
We have to do what it takes to keep pests out of our house.
I dont think that’s disputable.
PosterMembermetrodriver, thanks for the chizzuk!
We did have some catches BH, but I am not confident that we have all.
I am having an exterminator come down to give me a quote on mice proofing. I hear it is very expensive.
I am still so embarrassed of this neighbor. She will never want to step foot into here again!!!!
RebYidd23, I felt very bad for the little mice on the traps. My husband gave $5 to tzadakah in shul today in case any of those mice needed a tikkun. I told my husband maybe they were gilgul of someone that wasn’t makpid with eating kosher, once they ate the food in my apartment they filled their tafkid…
PosterMemberEmbarrassing!! I had a neighbor over to borrow something, and all of the sudden she started screaming! She saw a mouse! I cannot tell you how embarrassed I am!!!!! Feels good to vent!
PosterMemberi have so much bait out, and food on teh traps I dont think the mouse is eating from it at all in fact I think it is somehow aware of traps and avoiding it.
PosterMemberHow would a victor be different than a reg trap. these mice seem to be avoiding traps.
My questions is what can an exterminator do for the exisining mice?
PosterMemberBut Ivory this is not proofing. I know I have a mouse (maybe 2) in my apartment that I cannot seem to catch with traps and bait.
How will an exterminator catch it any better?
PosterMemberthese things are assur on shabbos i think due to boneh
PosterMemberwhat do you mean by humane?
PosterMemberI tried peanut butter on the trap. I went to the supermarket and bought a few diff types of traps.
About the cat, i don’t know if u were kidding , but, The mouse is so fast, seriously, I don’t see how i can let a cat loose to run around and catch it.
We have seen the mouse a few times, avoid a trap. Are these smart pests?
What would a professional pest control do?
PosterMemberare we so desperate to text on Shabbos. One day a week with a break from phones! A machaya!!
PosterMemberCaller has my vote.
U have to think big and out of the box. He is a business man at the same time. SO his thinking big has some backbone to it.
Also, I think he has enough of his own $$$ that he is not doing this for $$. That is a big thing!
PosterMemberI permed my son’s peyos. The result, a great curl.
Bad part, baiscally a perm is the stylist puts rollers in ur hair and then chemicals above it. The hair just above the roller (cuz she cant get the roller onto the scalp) gets frizzy and not part of the perm.
Also I found it oxidized my sons hair a little.
One more point, right after the perm, like for the first two weeks, the curls were boing boing until the perm settled a bit.
PosterMemberMurphysLaw, car accidents happen far more often. r u abandoning ur car?
PosterMemberThey are just doing their job!!
My husband does cold calling for his job. I would feel terrible if pple pranked him!!

PosterMemberIt’s mind boggling that over 200 pple can go missing in today’s day and age of technology. It is humbling to think that we don’t have “eyes” everywhere.

February 28, 2014 2:22 am at 2:22 am in reply to: What's your style when poor people come collecting at your door? #1006196PosterMemberI see you guys dont realize what Obamacare is all about.
The govt healthcare in Israel has many lousy doctors. Someone with a serious medical condition may need to see private doctors. There are even private hospitals. There are procedures that are not covered. Also, many times for serious sicknesses the cholim need to travel overseas for better doctors or care.
Many people that come saying their brother/father is sick, are collecting for the family since the breadwinner is unable to work.
PosterMemberI dont think themes are more expensive. In fact it helps me narrow down from thousands of food products what to give.
PosterMemberi am shocked, i didnt see a single snow plow yet. the streets in Boro Park are a mess and very dangerous!
Where is the mayor?????
PosterMemberWho found him? Did he know pple were searching for him?
PosterMemberNof Eliyahu became very popular for young American couples. I would imagine it is totally sold out.

PosterMemberLoving ur child comes naturally while loving a spouse has to be worked on and cultivated.
PosterMemberI also sent a letter, but it looks like they are enjoying this publicity.
PosterMemberI didnt want to do info before i read it only to hear – was mentioned already. From the description I heard about the boy it sounded like a good start. I should have done what SaysMe said, mention BEFORE, I dont know the boy that well, but from what i heard might be worth finding out about him.
I told the mother after she got insulted that i heard very nice things about the boy, though I dont know him personally.
November 26, 2013 8:59 pm at 8:59 pm in reply to: Yated article about barely making it financially #991818PosterMemberI also read it and found it very interesting. Wondering how majority of pple manage.
PosterMemberNo I dont think so. I am not speaking about one specific incident. My question is more general. When spouses do not have the same hashkafic values.
PosterMemberno one got one from their children’s school or cheder? It is so cool!!

A/o that has any reason to say that a kosher phone is silly, nerdy etc. must be trying to ease their guilt that they are not on the level to give it up.
My husband and I had Kosher phones when we lived in EY. Now that we are here we are back to texting. I miss the peace of a kosher phone and I wish we had the courage to say no to texting. I admire you and hope to get to that level someday.
PosterMemberI think it has to do with stress. I see it on hard working young men. I dont think it has to do with yeshiva guys.
PosterMemberB”H I have a little children, sometimes I wonder if running after them, picking up from teh floor, sweeping, up and down stairs, baiscally all my daily chores, is that not enough exercise? I hate the gym.
