It was very nice of the people who don’t plan to eat there to go in and explain why, so that the owners can change it if they want those people’s business. Otherwise the guy might lose tons of money.
UCONN is a good Law School but not IVY League, growing up in New Haven I had no desire to go to Yale and the only other Law School in Connecticut was University of Bridgeport which was not a great school.
You could have stayed in New England though and gone to Harvard. Or do New Haven people hate Harvard too much even if they don’t like Yale?

First, it makes them all think I’m like their boss.
Second, some of them go and negotiate more money, and that changes the baseline for how the company thinks of compensation, and then I ask for more.

Yes, in shuls where it is ever given to children, it should never be given to anyone over bar mitzva. If there is no child to do it, the gabbai should do it himself.
If you are davening in such a shul, and are not a child, and are asked to do gelillah, it is appropriate to refuse, and such is the minhag of the rabbonim and talmidei chachomim that they never do gelillah in such shuls.
I did gelillah in shul at mincha yesterday. I was asked to do hagbah, and refused because I didn’t know if it was heavy, and I save my strength for battling people on the CR.

Someone had to go somewhere after licht bentshen. While she was there, another woman handed her a kugel and said “here, take this”. So she asked why? So the other woman explained that her mother in law was by her for shabbos. So she pretended she was going to bring someone who had a baby or something a kugel. And she can’t come back with the kugel! (As related on imamother).
Two of my younger siblings got married before me (brother and sister). I can’t imagine what a horrible person I’d have had to be to deny that to them.
