It is bfeirush halacha that it doesn’t make you fleishig, even if the kli was dirty with some mamashus of fleishig. You’re all amaratzim. Except Sam.

    See Shach YD 89:19.

I can’t believe you all made me call you amaratzim during the 9 days. How could you be so mean as to be machshil me like that? That’s what I call sinas chinam.

Pretend you are at the zoo and your date is a monkey.

Tap and make funny noises to get their attention. Make faces and see if they copy. Throw stuff to get them to move. Maybe you see them scratch their armpits.

There were two big reshaim. One spent half his day trolling in the YWN CR, and one spent half his day kvetching to his friends in the real life coffee room about people who post on the assur internet.

Which one gets more olom habah?

    The PETA types are vegan.

I’ve never considered eating them, but that’s good to know.

    You know what is sickening?

There are farms which raise cows and chickens, and they absolutely refuse to give the animals antibiotics, even if they are sick! These animals can have festering sores, but no, the farmers will not given them even one antibiotic shot that costs a couple bucks.

You know why? Because then the meat won’t be “organic” and the PETA types won’t buy it.

I had a conversation with a friend about racism. She was saying how she is so accepting of all types and doesn’t judge anyone based on their skin color. I then asked her the following: If were walking alone at night, and there were only 2 streets to get you home, which one would you take? The narrow street that had a group of ex: Middle Eastern, African American, etc.. teens hanging out? Or the other narrow street that had a group of Caucasian teens hanging out? I wont mention her answer, but she understood what i meant about racism.

Don’t pull all of us in on your racism. You’re the racist one.

Your example makes no sense, unless you have also equalized the other factors. You and your racist friend are both picturing the caucasian teens as a bunch of pleasant looking politely dressed young men sitting around on lawn chairs smoking pipes, and imagining the african american teens as dressed in gang dress, acting rowdy, sitting on cars, and drinking malt liquor out of paper bags.

But equalize the surrounding factors, and why would anyone choose one street over the other, unless in the middle of racial tensions?

    Racist.

There shouldn’t be a minimum wage. There should be a maximum wage. That way employers would be forced to hire more people if they wanted to get more stuff done, and it would create more jobs. And salaries would be benchmarked to the maximum wage.

I’m not trying to be racist, but isn’t part of the price of admission that they hire people to clean up the garbage?

And wouldn’t they hire less people to pick up garbage if less people strew garbage everywhere?

So just who the blast it do you think you are to be taking away people’s jobs and livelihoods just so that you can feel like a superior non-garbage-strewing race?

    Nisht,

We don’t have to stage demonstrations and go to the forverts just yet. Avi K and I have an organization that will certify them as not a fraudulent entity, for a nominal charge. Of course, if they refuse to be certified, that’s just even more evidence to their fraud.

)1) How do you ask someone to set you up? Or you don’t ask?

Post on their facebook wall. Or on this thread.

2)If a friend sets you up, is it not as good as if a Rabbi/Professional Shadchen sets you up?

Depends if you end up marrying the set-upee

    3) Who should be involved in the shidduch?

    Both parties.

    4) If you meet somebody on your own, who you may see a potential future with- how do you approach such a matter?

From the side, so they can’t see you coming.

    5) What will be required of me?

    Boy: Car, Money, Job.

    Girl: Looks.

I am asking these questions because I was not brought up in a home where Shidduch dating is whats done, however, I don’t see how I will meet the type of person I want to marry any other way. TY.

That is a good reason to ask these questions. I’d recommend joining a few of the yeshivish dating websites, and then going to their events.

    DaMoshe,

I haven’t the slightest idea what other rabbinic body you are referring to. You may truly believe me that I don’t troll around looking for bad things people are doing. I only notice the chovevei stuff because they proudly strut it.

For whatever it’s worth, several fellow YCT students were outraged at the dumb statements of a YCT student this week and felt he went beyond the pale of Orthodoxy

Yes, we know how this goes. Now they each write a blog post about it, and then their teachers post on facebook proudly referencing the “rischa neged (sic) oraisah.”

Do they ask the apikorsim why they didn’t learn Torah? And if they do, do the apikorsim think that being an apikores is a good excuse?

Why not? Look, you can get me for being an apikores, but once I am, can you get me again for doing what apikorsim do? I dunno.

Rebyid: Yes. You phrased it perfectly. They are “the worst.”

I guess this thread is about the other one.

I actually just googled it, and it was originally run by two brothers as a yeshiva/dude ranch, and then they got in a disagreement over hashkafos, and one broke off and started his own.

The first one is now still a yeshiva/dude ranch. The second one is a yeshiva/animal shelter.

That is so stupid. Your school administrator is a moron.

Anyway, there are chazal by when the stoned zecharia in the beis hamikdosh, that it happened because he talked to them “me’al la’am”, that is, that he in some respects talked down to them and that’s why they weren’t mekabel.

So you should say that you shouldn’t sit on the table because it might give an impression that you consider yourself meial laam, and would diminish your ability to give tochacha to your classmates and to school administrators.

I think that should serve them right.
