Does anyone know what AAQ is talking about?

“The objective was to REDUCE infection rates in the context of communal spread, and REDUCE the severity of illness and rate of hospitalization for breakthrough infections.”
So there we have it. The dem in residence doesn’t believe there’s high efficacy in vaccines. Many republicans do.
Makes it a lot harder to excuse vax mandates…..

Since when are vaccines one of the gop’s platforms?
And it’s funny, you admit vaccines work…..yet isn’t it the Democrat government acting their hardest to dispel that claim? Vaccinated still have to wear masks. Vaccinated still have to do covid tests. vaccinated still could pass the virus on. vaccinated must get some more boosters. Laws speak louder than words, especially when the words are “WAIT!!!!!!! I never said they’re COMPLETELY effective!”

I mean that if you’re trying to prove that you’re allowed to believe and/or take action in the case at hand because the torah says to believe two witnesses, then it’s not comparable. That doesn’t mean you can’t believe them. It means the reason to believe them has nothing to do with typical testimony in B”D.

“o you really believe that a Rav is not allowed to do anything in these cases until they have 2 witnesses?
    Or even one witness?”
No I don’t believe that nor did I make any indication that I do.

“Witnesses have clout before they enter the court. There are many Talmudic discussions about this.

    First I heard of it.

“Then I’m surprised that you did not point out that they are female, and not valid in court.”
That’s a good point. Although i believe there were also men.

“The laws that pertain to what one is allowed/must believe, can be found in hilchos loshon horah. Not choshen mishpat.”

At simchos, the only one I’ll talk to is my sister, but if her son comes over I promptly walk away.

“but I liked Brandon shtick. Funny and harmless.”
Harmless enough, I guess. You don’t think it a tad childish to somehow allude to cursing out the president?

“Seems like the biggest factor will be the degree to which the Rs can move beyond Trump (and the Trump waanabees) and find a principled conservative and whether the Ds can avoid a contest as to who among them is the most “woke’ and promises to give away the most “free stuff”.”
How did you surmise that based on the above posts?
The only one who mentioned disdain for Trump was AAQ. Anyone who opts for Cruz obviously doesn’t care that much.
And which post led u to write what the Ds have to do?

Rubio and Cruz have proven themselves to be quintessential politicians. Although their policies are good, their character is not. Desantis was showing hopeful signs, then exposed himself when he signed that bill in Brandon.
Why can’t any politician be good and mature? And then electable?

Delaney supports the obergefell v hodges verdict. Anyone who supports that besides for being an extreme danger to civil liberties, also has no business writing law (and certainly not interpreting law).

“And I don’t understand sending girls to male therapists. And where is the tznius as well of women going to male therapists?”

    requoted due to likage.

one thing i and many others don’t understand is why these alleged cases always come put twenty years later? Suddenly one minor, now two decades older, breaks out of their cracked shell and then inspires ten others to do the same.
    Same story every time.
So the answer everyone’s going to say is that the victims are scared. The abuser threatens them. They’re young, etc.
First of all every single instance every single victim is scared stiff??? Seems implausible. Secondly, when Cuomo ym”sh was exposed, it was also years later, by those who weren’t ten year olds at the time.

@ubiquitin u answered the question yourself. Many times Rosh Chodesh happens a day or two after the molad. And, as u mentioned that Rosh Hashana isn’t “arbitrary,” “Why would it be pushed off for no reason” “It can be pushed off…..Lo Adu Rosh.” There we go. so it’s not arbitrary, but there are dechuyos–even something not because of R”H itself but because of the consequences of having R”H being on certain days….so why can’t it be pushed off for the simple reason of maintaining a 29 day month?

I messed up on my correction, too. Pesach can land on a Sunday, in which case Chanukkah on Tues should be possible in a leap year.

    @ubiquitin
answered that R”H can only be on Tues if the molad is after noon on Monday. why is that? The 1st available allowed day for R”H has to be R”H? In other words why can’t the molad be on Sunday and not have r”h til tues?

why is it that pesach never lands on Sunday twice consecutively?

Why can’t Chanukah start on Tuesday? IT should be possible when Rosh Hashana is Tuesday, 1 Cheshvan Thursday, 1 Kisleiv Shabbos. 1 Teiveis Monday, 1 Shvat Tuesday, 1 Adar Wed 1 Nisan Thursday.

of course i agree that it may be frustrating. i’m not saying u always have to do it, for sure that there’s no halachic obligation–ask your LOR to be sure–but, sometimes things can be confusing. especially on the CR u don’t know who’s responding to what, what side of the political aisle they’re on, everyones looking for controversy. just be clear as u can. its usually not too hard.

“There are 4 possible days of the week that the first day of Pesach can fall out on. 2022 – 2025 will be a four- year span where we have Pesach occurring on each of the four possible days.
It’s interesting to note that we had the same phenomenon during the years 2021 – 2024.”
It’s in reverse order of the days of the week in 5782-85 which IMO is more interesting. i can’t speak for buggy or GH, of course.

i just read this whole thread beginning to end and must join the posters’ censor of AAQ. It is stunning, horrifying, disgusting, and many other adjectives how people admonish him to “just answer the question” and he answers a different question, many times over.

As an aside someone mentioning getting it the stewardess’ way….it is high time someone [in the airline dept, who has some authority] teach the stewardesses that no one has EVER died because the stewardess didn’t bring a sprite fast enough, the meals won’t spoil if they have to wait a minute at the mid-plane bathrooms, and it would be a much more enjoyable flight if we had no flight attendants, even at the expense of no food. (Or worse yet, having to fetch your own drink from the galley.)

Sorry for changing the subject, now carry on.
