popa: I stand by the statement that the conservatives are reshoyim. Gedolim have so said. And Mod 80 will back me up on that.
July 4, 2011 4:01 pm at 4:01 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909153Pac-ManMemberDaas – How well they are able to learn or how well they try to learn? Binah seemed to imply the former; the latter is what counts.
July 4, 2011 3:46 pm at 3:46 pm in reply to: Eidah Chareidis Chulent Ban – a question of hechsherim #783040Pac-ManMemberThe difference is in intention. The R”Y is a tzadik with pure intentions, pure motives. The conservative movement are reshoyim gemurim with evil intentions only.
Pac-ManMemberWB WIY. Long time no see.
Pac-ManMemberWell said Rabbaim.
Pac-ManMemberTell the lifeguard. If she doesn’t stop immediately, absolutely tell the director.

July 4, 2011 4:05 am at 4:05 am in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909138Pac-ManMemberDY – Do you think Litvish girls with Chasidish boys is a more palatable or appropriate scenario than with YU boys?
Pac-ManMemberPeople who are from the yeshiva world (not the website) refer to other frum yidden as Reb, indiscrimantely.
Pac-ManMemberDoes your daughter’s school enforce a prohibition on loud clothing?
Pac-ManMemberI trust our girls mechanchim have very good reason for disallowing hoods.
Pac-ManMemberInner beauty is the ONLY beauty that counts.
Pac-ManMemberICOT – how will lieing help against that contractor?
Pac-ManMemberSo if a shadchan can describe any girl as beautiful, then a shadchan can describe all girls as beautiful.
Pac-ManMemberEither every married woman was beautiful or many men marry girls they think isn’t beautiful.
Pac-ManMemberFrum English speakers will refer to any Yid as Reb.
July 3, 2011 2:45 pm at 2:45 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909131Pac-ManMemberOC: Perhaps some like girls with beards. But it cetainly isn’t the norm.
Pac-ManMemberMidwood is in Flatbush. There is an old thread discussing this.
Pac-ManMemberMidwood is in Flatbush.
July 3, 2011 5:29 am at 5:29 am in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909126Pac-ManMemberFurthermore, girls who are way too worldly or independent are hurting themselves. It is like them growing a beard. They are experiencing the problems they are, precisely because of that. A girls place is in the home, not in the world.
July 3, 2011 5:27 am at 5:27 am in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909124Pac-ManMemberBR29:
The guy discussing a Ran and Ritvah is on a much higher level than the gal discussing bio-meds.
Additionally, the facts on the ground and the reality is that the girls are having a hard time in Shidduchim while the guys, by and large, are having a piece of cake and control the situation.
Pac-ManMemberOTB: can you please quote whatever comment I made on this thread that allegedly “hurt somebodies feelings”? Is pointing out the halacha vis-a-vis davening for the amud and wearing a talis the alleged misdeed?
Also, there is no comparison to a disabled Kohein or blind person, as in both cases they are always an onus through no fault of their own, unlike in the case at hand where they are at fault in the vast majority of cases. And where they are not, I see no criticism here of their onus.
Pac-ManMemberDupe post. Del.
Pac-ManMember95- In fact Kohanim do have a higher status than Yisroelim, much like marrieds have than singles. Those fact being pointed out in no way is an insult to Yisroelim or singles.
Pac-ManMemberLike said above, there is reason in halacha why singles can’t daven for the amud on yomim noraim, don’t wear a talis, etc. Are you upset about this “unfair” treatment of singles by halacha too?
Sure. And there is a reason why yisroelim can’t duchen. So we can insult them for any reason also. -95
Pac-ManMember+1 for cherrybim.
Very well said.
Pac-ManMemberICOT-
Header information (other than subject, name, and e-mail address) are typically not included in a forwarded (or replied to) message.
Pac-ManMemberExactly. Earning an income is the husband’s natural job, and not the mother’s.
Pac-ManMemberThere’s no “New Yorker Rebbe” because there are dozens and dozens (plus) Rebbes in NY.
Pac-ManMemberBecause it is a mother’s natural job, and not a father’s.
June 30, 2011 6:52 pm at 6:52 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909090Pac-ManMemberDr. P: I don’t see how its possible to enforce bans, or even fines, on them. They will just continue practicing despite them, as long as people listen to their suggestions, in spite of any assesed penalties.
Pac-ManMemberbomb – how’d ya get an invitation to the service?
Pac-ManMemberI do.
I think you’ve grown up, shaped up a bit, and overhauled your worldview.

June 27, 2011 5:05 pm at 5:05 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909008Pac-ManMemberDr. Pepper: How can you agree with their goals, without agreeing with their diagnosis and solution? What goals are you agreeing with, and what diagnosis of cause and proposed solution do you disagree with?
Pac-ManMemberActually, as AZ has pointed out, no guys have a problem getting dates as there are more available girls than guys. The girls are desperate to just get *a* guy, and not be left behind when the music stops without a chair.
Pac-ManMemberPlease find me the Ramba”m which says that calling the cops for a car alarm is mesirah.
Al pi pashtus veteran would appear to be correct. Why should it not be so considered – or anything other than simple mesira for that matter – barring extenuating circumstances? If you want to argue against veteran’s assertion of mesira based on that the alarm was waking him up, you need to state that in your defense.
Pac-ManMembermetrodriver: I answered Wolf based upon on his self-declaration of wrongdoing, and per his request for information on how to atone. I’ve learned better than to try to talk Wolf out of thinking he is World Sinner #1 or even simply that what he declared as sinful is anything but.
June 24, 2011 9:05 pm at 9:05 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #908941Pac-ManMemberOfcourse: Why do you keep asking that? What AZ has been saying is quite clear. There is NO SOLUTION possible to get all the current girls married. Period. End of discussion.
To quote AZ’s comment from the previous page:
“Is it possible for all of them… i’d rather not answer that question- It’s simply too painful.”
Pac-ManMemberSee, we Coffee Roomers get the inside “scoop” first! The rest of the oilem will have to wait till next week.
June 24, 2011 8:28 pm at 8:28 pm in reply to: Flatbush- why are the streets so empty after dark? #780451Pac-ManMemberThey do have cars in BP. They also drive in BP. And they also sleep in BP. At night those cars are parked in BP.
June 24, 2011 6:20 pm at 6:20 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #908936Pac-ManMemberDo you wanna change that Ph.D. to Joseph? It’s much more popular here.
June 24, 2011 6:12 pm at 6:12 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #908933Pac-ManMemberDr. P.:
I totally sympathize with you. I’ve had the exact same experience here!
Next thing you know, you will be me.
Pac-ManMemberNo, PM is an old poster here. He is a Rov in Eretz Yisroel:
June 24, 2011 5:12 pm at 5:12 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #908915Pac-ManMember(a Rov might, though)
No Rov might allow her to marry someone who doesn’t keep taharas hamishpacha.
Pac-ManMemberOkay, I admit it. I’m DY. (But I am NOT r-b!)
June 24, 2011 4:59 pm at 4:59 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #908910Pac-ManMembergavra: As bad as it is, telling the girls to marry someone not frum is not an option.
Pac-ManMemberon the ball: Incorrect. It is still mesira even if the guy is guilty.
June 24, 2011 4:46 pm at 4:46 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #908908Pac-ManMemberMissfrizzle: AZ has clearly demonstrated that there simply, and mathematically, is NOT enough bachelors for every girl to get married under the current system.
Pac-ManMemberStand by the car until he comes.
Yes, he can be mochel you.
