Akkum shmakkum. I am a major shareholder of Loews Corporation and I care about my bottom line. Together with the rest of my Jewish conglomerate, we offer you 51% of a thank you.

The fact is there is a halachic difference between returning too much credit given by a yehudi or by an akum. I wonder where a public corporation falls in this halachic area. If you buy something in Wal-Mart and get back too much change, does the halacha of a yehudi apply or the halacha of an akum? Wal-Mart (like any public corporation) has Jewish shareholders. Does even one Jewish shareholder owning 1/10,000th of 1% of the company put it in the yehudi category? Does it have to be a majority of the shareholders (shares owned)? How does one determine if a specific corporation falls into which category?

Last time I checked Gazal Akum is assur.

It is, but what the OP described would NOT be gezel akum even if she did not pay, since the error was on the akums part and you are not mechuyiv to correct. (But as I said earlier, it is a Kiddush Hashem to correct nevertheless.)

Unlike the gentile type of Titanic etiquette where the women were put on the lifeboats first, Shulchan Aruch specifically tells us we do the opposite of the goyim (and the men first go on the lifeboats.)

Mike: That obligation certainly does not apply to a Ger’s parents. The OP is correct. They are not halachicly his parents. M’ikur hadin he can even marry his “mother”.

    Says Reb Moshe:

“One might well say ignoring the advice of a Talmid Chochom is far worse than violating a commandment.”

Azoi zugt der heilige Maran Rashkbhag Hagaon HaRav Moshe Feinstein ?????????:

“There are people who maintain that Talmidei Chachomim are not qualified to decide political matters, that Gedolei Yisroel should limit themselves to Torah and Halacha. Such people cannot be considered within the Torah camp. One might well say ignoring the advice of a Talmid Chochom is far worse than violating a commandment. One who violates a commandment because he is too weak to resist temptation, at least knows that his action is wrong. By contrast, one who ignores the advice of a Talmid Chochom denies that a Torah scholar’s wisdom is superior. This is a far more serious breach.”

    (Reb Moshe, p. 123)

No it is absolutely not permissible to use the internet while on the boss’ time. The only one who can make an exception, is the boss. If he tells you it is permissible, then you have the green light. Otherwise, under Jewish Law, it is theft.

You are correct that halachicly you needn’t have pointed it out, but it is written in the Seforim HaKedoshim that it is a Kiddush Hashem if you do.

cherrybim – The Kalla’s mother and MIL (or father) escort her to the Chupa, not the Choson.

And who does this so-called etiquette apply to? Every girl coming into your office or only your date? And must a husband open the door for his wife every time they both go through a door, throughout their marriage?

And when is this how etiquette works? Only for the girl you date? For every girl who comes into your office? A husband must always open the door for his wife for their entire marriage to fulfill his etiquette responsibilities? And in all of the above cases a girl has no etiquette duty to open for a guy?

It is “etiquette” for the guy to hold the door for her, but it is not “etiquette” for her to hold it for him? Why?

The Gemora says she was executed. (As far as the method being beheaded, that might also be in the Gemora, otherwise the Meforshim.)

She was pretty young when she was put to death. Her father was the King before he was overthrown by Achashveros’ father.

The only issue with a bar is drinking with goyim and unless this girl is not Jewish there is no Halacha issue of him drinking.

See the S”A cited by Daas Yochid prohibiting ever drinking in a bar.

Rambam (perek 21, halacha 7) says: “We find that every woman performs five tasks for her husband. She spins, washes his face, hands, and legs, pours his drink, makes the bed, and serves him. There are six tasks some women do and some don’t: grind and bake and cook, wash, nurse children, and feed the animals.”

Whatever the shitta, it is not a matter of minhugim. It is a matter of halacha.

Some davka hold that the kalla should have uncovered hair by her chasana (to show that she is a besulah)

Who are the “some” that “hold” of this “shitta”? According to this shitta, she should need to put the covering on under the chuppa as soon as she becomes an eishes ish to “show” she is now an eishes ish and mechuyuv to cover.

You should meet my friend taking his driving exam with an anti-semite inspector who made clear he was gonna fail. That inspector was clutching his seat for a good 20 minutes as my buddy “mistakenly” went on the highway driving like there were no other cars around and kept “missing” the exits cause he didn’t notice it till he was too far past.
