PAA i feel for you. Noone is responding to the question and its quiet funny.
oyyoyyoyParticipantTM sorry for late response
who have no idea about life in the IDF should not be rendering their opinions about something they know nothing about.
But we are people who “have an idea about life in the IDF”, you just dont like that it isnt first hand like you have it.
Experiences in the IDF can be positive or negative, just like anything else in life. It is what you make of it.
False. Do you know that there weren’t any cases of people having spiritualy detrimental surroundings? Something like that isn’t subjective, it is inherently a negative experience.

oyyoyyoyParticipanttheres a nonjewish website dedicated to funny easily heard mistaken lyrics

Was once on a flight and people asked me to switch. Got stuck next to a guy from my yeshiva (which interferes with movie watching a tad) and his three kids.
oyyoyyoyParticipant20 second hand stories might equal 1 first hand, no?
oyyoyyoyParticipantissal relative
oyyoyyoyParticipantlaitzunoosa davoida zara is a good think. everyone chill out.
oyyoyyoyParticipanti think ive made an ebola joke every day since a week ago
oyyoyyoyParticipantdont wanna go thru this again but
I think the spiritual danger issue is a bunch of nonsense. If you go in weak, you’ll come out weak.
Untrue. because
A-The IDF doesn’t try to take anyone away from Torah.
Untrue.
B-Maybe something is wrong with the Chinuch process if people feel their boys are at risk spiritually. Awrite then, whatsay we all just move to vegas. Supposed to be nice there now.
I think my chinuch was pretty good, maybe i’ll invite Richard Dawkins over for a coffee.
Seems like something was wrong with your chinuch process bro.
oyyoyyoyParticipanthe is 20 years old and can’t answer questions that this person has and is not really interested in hearing answers.
You just answered your own question. I doubt this otd boy is a philosopher and doesn’t believe in hashem because it doesnt make sense. He probably has some issues- hard life and whatnot. Kiruv isnt only about debating.

oyyoyyoyParticipantSaw that the editor of the paper wrote an apology in the letters section of the paper. Maybe that’s the main part of the paper takkah.
oyyoyyoyParticipantIt’s true that mj is more common but i know some guys that do stop there. I dont know how YATZMICH knows that this connection that your son has with this boy isnt worth anything. It’s possible that he’s a strong link for the way back and shouldn’t be ignored.
Your son being in EY means it would probably harder for this boy to drag him down from so far away. Also, depending on how old and mature your son is the less fragile he is. Mothers sometimes see their children as the little boys they once were, not the young adults they are now.
I’m not saying your wife’s side is wrong; fakert, people dont always understand the dangers that should be taken into consideration. Just dont “KEEP YOUR SON AWAY LIKE THE PLAGUE”.
oyyoyyoyParticipantnu, someone shtell tzu popas thread
oyyoyyoyParticipantthen succos shud be the same. i heard from a chossid that hachanoh for mitzvos is a shmirah from aveiros but mitzvos themselves arent. this was his raaya that hachonos for mitzvos is greater in a certain aspect than the mitzva itself.

oyyoyyoyParticipanti think maharams kasha. reb akiva eiger says somewhere that rashi held chomoso after his wife dies (which in your case it has to be or else theres no yibum in first place) isnt a chiyuv karais just arur shochev im chosanto and hes not patur. based on gemara in sanhedrin i think.

oyyoyyoyParticipantI heard one of the frum jewish junk newspapers had this flyer as an ad (but didnt see it myself).
What kinda idiot allows this into his paper? The only reason i can think of for letting it thru is just so that there can be hock in the letters to the editor. What a petty low way to run a newspaper.
oyyoyyoyParticipantGOQ- I agree with rebyidd they are not treated humanely and if you dont thing being bound up and swung around in the air isn’t traumatizing have someone try that with you.
i hope your not serious though
oyyoyyoyParticipantyou go girl

oyyoyyoyParticipantOf course the decisions yours but we would be lost and insecure without you here. Wish u were here and not in mesopotamia.
So youre maskim i brought you away from your studies?
oyyoyyoyParticipanttheres a nice israeli minyan in flatbush on ocean ave and ave n or something like that. Rabbi Kroizer is the nice rov over there. i dont know that much about it but maybe this is something you can start with.

oyyoyyoyParticipantIt’s good to be mainstream cuz generally, when a lot of people do something a certain way, there is a valid reason for it.
generally yes.
many times people use “out of the box” as a cover for a feeling of one or more of the following: non acceptance, rebellion, low self esteem and overcompensate, haughtiness/ holier than thou etc.
Haleivi- i think i mostly agree with you except, “You can be original but if your goal is simply originality that is hardly original.”
Sometimes a persons originality is stifled by a strong feeling to follow along with everyone else. In such a case he has to actively be original to balance hisself out.
oyyoyyoyParticipantI’m pretty sure oyyoyoy means it shouldn’t be a big deal, because how exactly is figuring this out going to change your life other than giving you some intellectual pleasure?
I know that’s exactly what it sounds like, but there was more to it. If i didn’t care i wudnt have called Yeshivishsocrates1 away from his studies in Mesapotamia.
oyyoyyoyParticipantThat wud be true if the only girls still single were the ones who cudnt afford support. If you wanna bash learning, just stick with the reasons that wont sound like you have ulterior motives.
oyyoyyoyParticipantthanks again paa
oyyoyyoyParticipantit’s not the biggest deal 😉
oyyoyyoyParticipantI don’t think i attack people often. More of a live and let live kinda guy. But you know what grinds my gears? Jews with english names. Wasn’t lo shinu es shmum a big zchus for yetzias mitzrayim?
What about malbusham and lishonam you ask? good question, im not sure. i have a few thoughts but no time
oyyoyyoyParticipantWait, so what came first? A 25 yr old girl feeling bad that she’s not married yet, thereby causing society to pity her; or society pitying her for being 25 and not married yet causing her pressure and feeling bad that shes not married yet?
oyyoyyoyParticipanti just got used to the old new format. bummer.
oyyoyyoyParticipantwheres rama?
oyyoyyoyParticipantTAKAMAMASH- i just wanna publicly say i’m sorry for attacking you about sheirut leumi without first knowing the facts- that the mitzius is different today.
oyyoyyoyParticipantDY- id rather be locked out than in.
WRITERSOUL- Guys, seminary is amazing. Stop kvetching about it.
i thought youre supposed to hate it and cry every night for the first half a year and only then love it?
like kollel- great as a concept, or something for an individual to decide to do, but pretty bad as a full lifestyle and supposedly necessary part of life
you obviously just started seminary. (sorry i just had to)
oyyoyyoyParticipanti still can’t believe seminaries lock girls in
oyyoyyoyParticipanti think its healthier to move out
