It does not change everything. You consistently bash YU, mainly utilizing its club for those with strange desires. Whether or not the Touro one was a result of liberal pressure, it still stands that it exists on a Touro College campus.

“I was talking about sanctioned violations of Halacha, like they do in YU. Eg. Forums about students and others whom have strange desires. “

I think its funny how you make a blatant statement like that without considering that Touro College has something very similar. Its called the Touro University Gay-Straight Alliance (you can see more on it on Wikipedia or other websites.) Seems like YU being singled out about this is not exactly fair.

You said “Rabbi, Dr. Lander A’H, is the one whom instituted all policies in any Touro school. These are all acc. to Halacha. The school carries on his tradition to this day.”

Must I follow the Satmar Rebbe’s interpretation in everything? If my Lithuanian Rosh Yeshiva allows me to shave, does that mean I am violating the Torah since the Satmar Rebbe forbids it?

As we both know, there are seventy faces of the Torah. You and I can follow different faces, yet the same Torah.

Concerning Zionists in Eretz Yisrael, it was a Machlokes between the Brisker Rav and the Chazon Ish. Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Goldvicht asked both Gedolei HaDor if he would be allowed to open up a yeshiva (today it is Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh) for the Zionists. The Brisker Rav held they were the same as one who is not Jewish. The Chazon Ish, alternatively, held they were tinok shenishba and allowed the yeshiva to open up.

I also forgot to add Rav Moshe Meiselman from Yeshivas Toras Moshe in Jerusalem. Not only is he a Talmud Chacham, but he is also one of the largest challengers against Rabbi Natan Slifkin. I heard he is coming out with a new book that specifically challenges statements made by Rabbi Slifkin.

If the Rabbonim do not support it, then it must not wrong. Perhaps the latter case you mentioned was under special circumstances, of which you were not told.

There is a common saying among police officers. It is “if you cannot take the heat, get out of the kitchen.” Perhaps these souls go otd because being a religious jew is too much of a burden in today’s world. However much it is said, though, the Rabbonim are not to blame.

I do not know why Rav Hutner did it, but the fact that he hardly ever mentioned Rav Kook in Yeshiva or in any of his works clearly sends a message of some sort of rift. You honestly believe that Rav Hutner’s Succah was so small he could have only fit the Chazon Ish and not Rav Kook? Please…

It was said that Rav Yisroel Elya Weintraub, a student of Rav Hutner, wrote that Rav Kook was “grabbed by the Sitra Achra.”

I am certainly lower than Rav Kook, Rav Hutner, and Rav Weintraub. But it seems that there was some sort of rift between Rav Kook and his former student.

Rav Kook taught Rav Hutner in his earlier years studying in Eretz Yisrael. As time went on, Rav Hutner distanced himself from Rav Kook and his ideas (including Zionism). An example of this is when Rav Hutner halted the practice of hanging up a picture of Rav Kook in his Succah. He replaced it with a picture of the Chazon Ish in order to show he did not support the Zionism that followers of Rav Kook promoted.

In fact, there are no seforim by Rav Kook in Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin. While Rav Kook was certainly an influence on Rav Hutner as a student, he did not continue these ideals when he became Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin.

Try to ensure that the one person you are concentrating on in the audience is not male. It is unbecoming of a religious Jewish male to attend such an event.

    From Wikipedia

“After the publication of his book The Dignity of Difference, a group of Haredi rabbis, most notably Rabbis Yosef Shalom Elyashiv and Bezalel Rakow, accused Sacks of heresy against traditional Orthodox viewpoint. According to them, some words seemed to imply an endorsement of pure relativism between religions, and that Judaism is not the sole true religion, e.g. “No one creed has a monopoly on spiritual truth”. This led him to rephrase more clearly some sentences in the book for its second edition, though he refused to recall books already in the stores.[13]”

On a personal note, I think highly of him and read his articles frequently.

I still think it is exceptional you are doing so much in order to learn Torah in Eretz Yisroel.

Perhaps you can work in the Yeshiva as a kitchen boy or something in that category. A friend of mine is currently employed as a waiter for Shabbos meals in a Yeshiva in New York City. While he cannot go home for the weekends as much as the other students, he does pay a lower amount of tuition.
