I like that feature. It’s kinda fun to see what other people search for. Also, if you use the Google search box on your toolbar, it only suggests and doesn’t autofill (which is annoying). 🙂

But at least you can turn that feature off. Unlike some others… X_X

I think you can pursue that – you volunteer to help out with production at your local BY, try to get on board some of these women’s movies that they produce from time to time. Maybe you can even get a position! But I’m not totally sure it’s a good idea for a long-term goal – there just aren’t enough venues in performing for a frum girl to pursue.

There’s also nothing wrong with trying to balance your hobby with another job. You can go to school and get a job as whatever and still pursue your dreams.

aries, I’m with you here. This attitude of “it’s the Internet, so anything goes” doesn’t make any sense to me. There’s a real person behind every screen name, and they deserve to be treated as such. Just because you don’t know who they are doesn’t mean your vicious comments won’t hurt them.

    Dear AYC,

I know you probably don’t recognize my name, but I’ve witnessed what happened to you, and I just want to say that I’m so sorry that it happened. It was really horrible. And I really hope you come back, because everyone in the CR really misses you.

    Urban Dictionary

    Ferd

    (noun)

    2. Any individual who displays a significant lack of intelligence, logic, or comprehension of fact or reason.

    (Other definitions left out deliberately.)

Performing: Go to auditions (is this what they’re teaching you in seminary?)

Design: Fashion? Interior? Graphic? Architecture? Definitely need school for all of those. (I think Middlepath is going some sort of design…consumer design? Don’t remember.)

I just googled “obese horse,” and there are all these random sites with photos of horses that they say are obese, but don’t look fat at all. Maybe that’s why.

the things that interest me are not things that u go to a regular college for though except for things that i just totally dropped cuz i wouldnt be able to deal with all the work

It doesn’t even make a difference what you major in. If you have any degree, in whatever profession, you are infinitely more likely to be hired than one who does not. Take me, for example – I’m majoring in a pretty specialized field. Yet somehow, all the entry-level positions in this field require a B.A. in any discipline – they don’t care which. Even someone more technically qualified would have a hard time elbowing out the person with the degree.

As for the work, it’s entirely dependent on which college you choose and which career path you ultimately take. It shouldn’t really impede your decision to go.

ayshoshee, I also wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do while in seminary. I went to college anyway and figured out what I liked there. It’s not really a waste of time, because you have to take a complement of required courses regardless of what you’re majoring in. And whatever you decide to do, you will probably need some sort of degree (unless you want to make $10/hour for the rest of your life). Pushing it off will only inconvenience you later on.
