OneOfManyParticipantReb. Assaf’s seminary, maybe?
OneOfManyParticipantMostly research papers and such…the tests were pretty piddling in fact. Papers though. XP But I felt like I had enough free time to do what I wanted. And as for Raayans chilling and have fun…lol, I don’t think you need to worry about that. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantHi 20! How are you? ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantYou will be missed. 🙁
OneOfManyParticipantI feel like it’s 95 95% of the time, with a little 42 sprinkled in (you know him when you see him).
OneOfManyParticipantJolly good, my fellow Whovian. ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantYOU FORGOT THE JELLY BABIES DON’T EVER FORGET THE JELLY BABIES XC XC XC
OneOfManyParticipantcrisisoftheweek, if you want people to accept your criticism, you have to interact with them without criticism at least some of the time. Or I guess you could just keep listening to yourself talk, if you like it that much.
OneOfManyParticipantAsk them if they’d care for some jelly babies.

OneOfManyParticipantIf I found out that the person was hiding it from me and had no plans of telling me until after marriage, THAT would be grounds for a resounding no. If I found out before dating him, I would be concerned (maybe a little more so than in the case of divorce), but if there were no other obvious issues at play, I think I would go out with him, because you really have to meet a person to see how they personally deal their depression. For some it’s just something that happens that they can deal with, but for some it’s indicative of much bigger issues that can’t be ignored.
I think, as SaysMe says, the most sensible course of action is not to tell them right off (because of all the resounding NOs), but to tell them as it begins to get serious (not too late, either), so the person has a chance to make first impression based on their perception and make a fully informed choice.

OneOfManyParticipantlol ZK
OneOfManyParticipantBaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, that be cheating. XP
OneOfManyParticipantMP: Illustrator doesn’t really let you customize all that…I know Photoshop does (by the way, you don’t have to reinstall: it’s in Preferences->Performance). And my Photoshop is optimized (luckily I have plenty of RAM and a decent graphics card), and works like a dream. It’s just Illustrator. And it crashes on the computers at school, too. >(

OneOfManyParticipantYou will be deleted, exterminated, and assimilated. So just so you know, resistance is futile.
(Beat THAT. :P)
OneOfManyParticipantLol, that one is funny…
OneOfManyParticipantYay! ^_^
And I count the emoticon as punctuation. 🙂
OneOfManyParticipantheh heh
OneOfManyParticipantStill trying to figure out the displace tool…
Actually haven’t opened Photoshop in a while. I’ve started using Painter and Illustrator (which I am using for class). AND AUGH ILLUSTRATOR CS6 IS THE CRASHIEST PROGRAM EVER. T_T All I am using is pen tool and fill, and the thing’s crashed MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT. I’ve begun saving my work just about every ten seconds…do you have this problem? D:
And yes, I really really like Painter. It’s much more specialized than Photoshop for digital painting. Although Photoshop is better with pen pressure sensitivity…but other than that, I am a convert. 8D
Checked out Hamsterfly – nice! Exellent speedpainting (I always judge an artist by their speedpaintings :P). Here are two for you: pyrotensive and Aseo (I am a little into vector right now :D).
OneOfManyParticipantHiya moski. ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantAwwwwwwwww, just one short…
OneOfManyParticipantlololol look at NOMTW’s subtitle…that’s good… 😀
OneOfManyParticipantHi! Just wanted to let you know that you are missed.
OneOfManyParticipantNope, that’s the messy-haired bloke. I’m Tonks. ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantWow, my subtitle changed as I wrote that. o_O
OneOfManyParticipantI don’t even like bananas, but I want to try this. ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantWhere is he?
OneOfManyParticipanteheheheheh. ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantHappy birthday! ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantAnd who was also an expert dual wielder of the legendary Vorpal and Morgul blades. ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantLol you are right, but I bet you twenty bucks it could pierce mithril.
Anyhow, my nerves are made of mythril. ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantSheer unmitigated genius. 😀
OneOfManyParticipantI don’t know where you live, but just so you know in NY the “fad” has died down to a large extent. I went to a big Bais Yaakov in Brooklyn and only twenty people went to E”Y out of my entire grade. In fact, there was a lot of peer pressure to stay back.
OneOfManyParticipantOh yeah? I’ve got a Morgul-blade.
OneOfManyParticipantNaysberg, if I didn’t know any better, I would think you were Reconstructionist (forget secular Zionist). tsk tsk
We are a nation that is defined by a common religion. So really, the religion is the ikkar, because without it, the nation would be meaningless. And the nation is naturally formed by our religion, so you wouldn’t even have the religion without the nation anyway.
OneOfManyParticipantWhat you are describing is a “democratic republic” – a representative form of government (republic) that gives ultimate power to the citizens (democracy) in the election of officials. Which is also known as representative democracy, which is really a form of republic (hence democratic-republic, with democratic as modifier). A country where people vote directly on issues is stam a democracy, no? And a country where the vote is not distributed equally is a republic that is not democratic. Of course, as is self-evident, the U.S. did not start out as democratic, but now can be described as such.
And stam, the term “federalism” is not really in contradiction of anything. It just means that there is a division between tiers of government – at the local level, and in a central governing power.
OneOfManyParticipantBombastic, eh? …mmm, I like it. ^_^
OneOfManyParticipantI think it’s a Democratic-Republic, actually.
OneOfManyParticipantGARNER’S MODERN ENGLISH USAGE
PRONOUNS
D. Indefinite Pronouns: Number. Traditionally, indefinite pronouns (anybody, anyone, etcetera) have been considered invariably singular. Indeed, as the subject of a verb, each of those terms must be singular…
[deleted examples]
But, often, as in the following sentences [not shown], the sense undoubtedly carries the idea of plurality from an antecedent pronoun to a referent one…Try changing them to he, and you end up with deranged writing. SYNESIS dictates that logic trumps the strict rules of grammar with these words in transition…
[deleted examples]
Although everybody and everyone carry the strongest suggestions of plurality, the other indefinite pronouns are almost as natural antecedents with they and them. That’s because they has increasingly moved toward singular senses. (See SEXISM (B).) Disturbing though these developments may seem to purists, they’re irreversible. And nothing that a grammarian says will change them.
______
One thing you will learn if you pursue and interest in writing – in many cases the rules are sacrificed for good style. And that’s a rule.
But you have to look the thingamajig up in Garner’s or CMoS first. 😛
OneOfManyParticipantYes, that’s what I said.
And unless any given person is going to give some account for why they are trying to speak in a mutant language, then I will assume that they think it natural and defensible – which makes them an idiot.
Shall we go at this for another half a dozen rounds, or shall I let you make your scintillating rejoinder and leave it at that?
OneOfManyParticipantJoseph: There is no need to be apologetic about not knowing a language. That is logically absurd.
However, when one is talking/writing/posting to an audience that speaks a specific language, and they cannot communicate effectively, and they are belligerently defensive and even proud of their ineptitude, then there is nothing to call them other than idiotic. And nothing short of disclaiming their proficiency in that language before their piece is going to make them look less like a blundering fool. Again, there is nothing wrong with not knowing something. But putting yourself in front of those who do and and proudly claiming ignorance is a good way to prove yourself impervious to knowledge of any kind.
OneOfManyParticipantThat’s OneOfMany to you.
