✡onegoal™ParticipantJosef? Is that you? You are welcome to take a hike. You are not needed here, so dont feel obligated.

Is that a guilty conscience?
✡onegoal™ParticipantI’m listening to it right now. It’s pretty good.
✡onegoal™Participantcoffee- Sorry, I missed it. I didn’t have anything in mind. What I meant was that if your Hashkafa is, that you would have a secular magazine that is appropriate than would you consider this appropriate too. I don’t know if there are any but it’s a theoretical question.
✡onegoal™ParticipantRamot
✡onegoal™ParticipantI don’t. I just want an opinion.

The Frumguy- So what you are saying is, is that it’s an ok magazine, but there are/may be inappropriate ads or pictures in it?

✡onegoal™ParticipantI think we should start a thread that you post in if you are out of town or going out of town so that the people who live where you are visiting can be notified that you are or will be in town. Anybody else like this idea? I can’t think of a name for it.

✡onegoal™ParticipantFirst of all, when some of the posters said that they only wear it around the house, what does that mean? Do you stay home untill it wears off? Secondly if I wanted to atract women, wouldnt I ask my wife, sister, or a diffrent woman to pick out the one they thought smelled good instead of picking out one myself that any female would think smells terrible? I wear cologne every day and I wear it for my self. There are some people who wear strong body spray or cologne/perfume to mask their body odors
✡onegoal™ParticipantWow what a scientific discovery!

September 27, 2011 6:19 pm at 6:19 pm in reply to: Only ONE Photograph of the Chofetz Chaim?? #812946✡onegoal™ParticipantFound it.
Taken from the Hamodia website.
Some people say that the well-known portrait of the Chofetz Chaim disseminated widely today is not accurate and that there is a snapshot of him sitting outside his home in Radin. Do you remember which image the Chofetz Chaim resembled?
I remember the Chofetz Chaim as he appears in this portrait [pointing to the standard image hanging on his wall]. It seems that in the 1920s the Chofetz Chaim still looked like he does in this portrait, but maybe later on he became very weak and frail and his age was more apparent, like in that photograph of him sitting outside his house after his doctor instructed him to go outside for fresh air every day.
Here is the whole article.
✡onegoal™ParticipantResearch old threads and figure everything out. Ten months ago when I was born into the coffee room I was just as lost too, but I did some research and figured some of it out.
✡onegoal™ParticipantAre you positive? Try it again just to make sure.
✡onegoal™ParticipantI just posted a link in the chofetz chaim thread for a article directly relating to the topic, from a jewish website, but a little while back I was trying to post a link to a video (appropriate of course) and it didn’t go through. It depends on the link, as the mod said in the last post.
September 27, 2011 5:59 pm at 5:59 pm in reply to: Something I noticed a lot of people do because they probably dont know this #1033329✡onegoal™ParticipantI do not cross my fingers because in ninth grade my rebbe told me you should not because one hand represents midos harachamim and one hand represents midos hadin and they should not be mixed. He also said that he knew someone who would cross their fingers a lot and he would tell them not to. He said the person died with their fingers crossed. I’m not trying to bring a point from that story but it is a little creepy. I always cut my fingernails out of order but does that apply to toenails as well? I also always cut both finger and toenails on the same day because it was convenient and I didn’t know otherwise, but now that I do I will iy’h try to do them on different days.
✡onegoal™Participantthe mods do not post most links. Although some get through most don’t. If there is something you want to post copy and paste it here and if need be write where you got it from to cover the plagiarizing (is that a word) issue.
✡onegoal™ParticipantHaha I like that one, very “Shticky” haha! By the way how do make that little smiley after your post?

September 27, 2011 4:45 pm at 4:45 pm in reply to: Only ONE Photograph of the Chofetz Chaim?? #812945✡onegoal™ParticipantCheck this out. I got this from the Hamodia website. An interview with Rabbi Yenowitz.
(One of the questions)
As a talmid of the Chofetz Chaim, do you remember what he looked like? Is this picture that appears on the popular edition of one of his sefarim a good likeness?
Notice how he says “Perhaps he looked more like that when he was younger.” I recall reading an article (not this one) in the Mishpacha or Hamodia magazine, that interviewed someone who said that this picture was indeed the Chofetz Chaim, but was taken when he was younger. I am currently trying to find that article, if I do I will post it.
Here is a link to the whole interview. (If it gets posted)
