Why would a officer responding to a call of illegal peddling be notified of the suspects state of health? How would this officer know whether this suspect would resist causing him to use any means of physical contact, be it the proper way or not? And finally, if this man had no health issues, would subduing him in this method (proper or not) have harmed him in any way more then the usual restraint method?

✡onegoal™ParticipantIf I’m not mistaken, the story about Dovid Hamelech that you are referring to is in .??? ?? ?. The way Dovid Hamelech did a mitzvah was quite different then the way most of us do. As Randomex pointed out, in that case it was Torah, not Tefillah that was saving Dovid. There are several reasons why one might die even while doing a mitzva. We assume not but in some cases the person may not be doing the mitzvah improperly (improper tfillin placement) or something of that nature. We do not assume this was the case here. I believe it was R’ Moshe, but I may be mistaken, who said that with animals like these (terrorist) the rule of Shluchei Mitzva doesn’t apply.

The convention was a smashing success! Just a little note to all who attended, appreciate all the hard work that went in to it, because you would never realize what it takes unless you did it yourself. It was great personally meeting R’ Dishon, R’ Matisyahu, R’ Avrohom Schur, and many other great gedoilim.

All they do is talk about seminary for a year and end up there wasting the year trying to figure out why it isn’t like they heard it would be. It makes no difference where you go! With yeshivas it actually does, because you learn there and may actually end up there for as long as 5-10 years depending on which yeshiva you end up in. A yeshiva is a way of life, seminary is a year in Israel. Sorry but if you want to talk about seminary pick one of the four million threads already open, or better yet open your own site just for seminary chatting! End rant.

If I were to marry someone with no minhag ie. geyores then she would adopt my minhagim pertaining to woman. As far as my wife adopting my minhagim when she already has her own, I do not know, but I would assume she would just like all the other minhagim pertaining to both of us.
