According to Torah Law you can own slaves and have multiple wives. We don’t have slaves because local law prevent us; and Teimanim Yidden (some) still have a second wife. Ashkenazim have a takana not to. That takana doesn’t violate Torah Law.

Jbaldy, your argument might have some validity. Though two points: 1) it is and was unusual to not wear a yarmulka, even if one is wearing a hat. So I doubt the MB implies what you are saying. Rather it means a hat plus a yarmulka. And 2) in either case, the MB is very clear that a full hat is required.

Because that’s how Hashem created us. Hashem created men and women differently, not equally. Men have their strengths and women have their strengths. Men are involved in intellectual pursuits in life to a far greater degree than women, traditionally. Thus Hashem gave men a stronger intellectual foundation.

When beating a husband is permissible is a very delicate and subtle decision that only a well accepted beis din of big talmidei chachomim can pasken. Because sometimes halachicly a beis din is permitted to beat a recalcitant husband to force him to give a Get, and it is a valid Get. Other times it is impermissible for a beis din to beat a husband who refuses to give a Get, to force him to give one. And if they do beat him, or even apply lesser impermissible pressures, the resulting Get is invalid.
