takahmamash: you do it your way, and i’ll do it mine. plus, I didn’t think it would be an issue. i was just clarifying.
rebyidd23 and oyyoyyoy: it is not for health reasons, although i hear it’s somewhat healthier. i know most people say animals were created for us to enjoy, and I’m not necessarily disagreeing with that, but I read this in a book (where the main character was a vegetarian) and it inspired me: “I want to minimize the number of
deaths I am responsible for.” I am not an animal lover by any means, but the way I see it, they are living creatures too, even if I don’t like them.
thank you, everyone, for your help!
octopiMemberwell, about the Kohen thing- 1. i am female, 2. i am not trying to force this onto anyone else, 3. my family is not Kohanim, and 4. IM”H, when the Mashiach comes, I might change my mind.
also, the financial aspect is not exactly an issue, as everybody else in my house eats meat.
octopiMemberThe Goq: I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not, but i hope you’re not serious. that’s terrible! was your friend injured?
octopiMemberi dont know much about it from the halachic point of view, but i know plenty of people who have gotten down on one knee that are completely frum and very learned. plus, getting down on one knee is romantic, and who says we cant be romantic sometimes?
octopiMemberthis is so ridiculous! i totally agree with bookworm120! 22- 25 is a great age to get married! as is 30!
of course, everyone wants to get married sooner rather than later, but ultimately, Hashem is the one who runs this world, and He knows exactly the right time for each person to find their bashert. if He wants someone to get married at 30, or even older, who are you to disagree? we start dating younger because thats our hishtadlus, but its not up to us to decide when one is supposed to get married. i know a girl who got married at 21, and guess what? it ended up in a divorce! and now, a couple years later, she’s happily remarried. i’m not saying this goes for everyone, but you have to realize that while we are supposed to put in effort and not sit around waiting for things it to be handed to us on a silver platter, we also have to have emunah, and realize that everything Hashem does is for the best, and that He knows whats really best for us.
octopiMemberi agree with oomis.
those who matter dont mind, and those who mind dont matter.
octopiMemberi’m random.
octopiMemberi’m no rabbie, but yes, buffalo is kosher. i’ve had it before.
octopiMemberwhat if you didnt realize, and then you pay $500 for it’s surgery?
