Heeeelllloooo?? What’s this? This place is DEAD! C’mon, mods. I need some entertainment after all that Pesach cleaning!
observanteenMemberHere’s another one:
A True Friend
When I was little
I was sure
A true friend is
She who’s snack is ample.
When I was in elementary
I was sure
A true friend is
She who’s brilliant
A student sample.
When I was a freshman
I was sure
A true friend is
She who laughs without a care.
When I was a sophomore
I was sure
A true friend is
She who’s serious, deep and rare.
When I was a junior
I was sure
A true friend is
She who shares everything.
Now I’m a senior
What a true friend is
I know nothing.
observanteenMemberI act exactly the same IRL. Boy, I sure hope nobody knows me cuz you’d recognize my style right away!
observanteenMemberNothing wrong. I just thought that they’re all sidestepping the point in the argument. IMHO, it was “Black Hats” (or whatever) they were discussing, NOT the level of frumkeit in OTHER AREAS regarding one who does/n’t wear that specific levush.

S/he’s probably trying to look for something to be anxious about (subconciously of course). You can try the Attacking Anxiety And Depression as msseeker mentioned. Also, Rabbi Sapierman’s CDs are great. Hatzlacha in whatever in you do!
observanteenMemberBrisker: Your post really does make sense. I’m sorry about my other post. You really are right. I didn’t realize we’re on the same page! Thanks for proving my point. Sorry again.
April 3, 2011 4:35 am at 4:35 am in reply to: Especially good at clarifying "How do we know Hashem exists?" to a young adult #778369observanteenMemberIf s/he wants to know the TRUTH s/he’ll get there. Otherwise, there’s no point in arguing. S/he’ll “prove” it’s wrong over and over again. On the contrary, if s/he’s willing to listen, then try Rabbi Pinchus Jung from Monsey. He’s really great with these kids, and has great answers. (You don’t have to introduce yourself)
observanteenMemberTBT: Ok, I get it. Does that make me the first cheap-shotter?;)
Brisker: So do you judge people by their clothing? Just because he wears such and such type of levush he’s expected to do so and so? Really, I don’t get it! Again, what does one have to do with the other? We all have the same Torah. Just because he wears a colored shirt, you don’t expect him to be a pios Jew?
HRH: As a matter of fact, it really irks me when people compare the worst of the frum with the best of the modern.
observanteenMemberDon’t you dare! Boy, I have some good experience…. (and I’m NOT overtired now, mods;))
observanteenMemberWow, I doubt the mods ever EDITED my posts as much as they did on this thread!
observanteenMemberYou’re right. I did miss the points people were trying to make. I totally didn’t understand where being frum comes into the picture! Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think their point was that it shows which crowd you’re coming from. If that were the point, why were some posting that “I know a guy who wears a black hat and my husband saw him doing _______” or “my husband wears a colored shirt, and he’s a tzaddik! He’d never do stuff ploni does who wears a white shirt!” (those aren’t actual comments, but similar to the ones posted. Correct me if I’m wrong.
observanteenMemberBrucklynJewess: Wow, I love your poems! The first one’s really original and the rythm and rhymeing are superb! The second is beautiful too!
observanteenMemberTBT: Thanks. I’m not really sure I understood your cheap shot idea. What do you mean?
observanteenMemberWow. What a sigh of relief! Okay, now I’m off to bed… G’night!
observanteenMemberHeeelllooooo?? Me??? Driving YOU crazy?? WHATTT? Okay…Don’t worry. Mom’ll send me to bed in approx three and a quarter minutes. Too bad you’re working overtime…:)
EDITED POST:
Too bad they do not pay me time and a half for this.
observanteenMemberOkayyyyy…… I love driving the Mods crazy!!!!
EDITED POST:
Please note, this poster is up way past her bedtime and you cannot trust the stuff she posts.
observanteenMemberAwwww. I really love brussel sprouts!!
EDITED POST
observanteenMemberNow, now. Don’t tell me I started up with YOU again. SIGH.
EDITED POST:
I prefer being referred to as the ‘royal we.’
observanteenMemberDuh. I trying to be a pain!
EDITED POST
observanteenMemberI’d choose an explanation. I doubt you expect the mods to do that, though. Oh, and I gather this is regarding your other post?;) Well, I feel for you. Don’t feel offended. They don’t even know you! (suppose that mod’s is that old foggie with bald head, cane, hunch, wrinkles, heavy accent…Who cares?)
EDITED POST:
Your description is totally off.
observanteenMemberSac: I’m afraid you need new batteries;)
observanteenMemberBwashere: Wow! Incredible! Ohhhh. I can relate…
observanteenMemberI used to be the same. ????? ????? ???? ?? ????. It really takes a lot of effort and work. Read books, listen to shiurim etc. But what really changed me, was that I suffered. I came to realize that He is the only One, and that EVERYTHING is up to Him. Hatzlacha!
observanteenMemberSeeAllSides: Thanks tons!
eclipse: Just kidding, don’t worry… I’d have let you know in a nicer way…;)
Sac: I know this is all anonymous and I can’t really prove anything to you. I just want you to know that I’m not the type who can pretend being something I’m not. It just won’t work! So yes, I am a teen. Just wondering, what made you think I’m an adult? Do I act like one? Is that a compliment?;)
observanteenMemberI enjoy when the Algebra “clicks”, if you know what I mean. But I’m not too good at it. My teacher’s teaching at BREAKNECK speed, so you gotta concentrate! And it can get pretty confusing. If I’m not clear in an area, I review it at home. But really, it’s ok. I told myself that I don’t have to excel in Everything. I never liked math, and I don’t think I ever will. Focus on your other skills. I highly doubt your date will hand you an Algebra test;). Good Luck!
observanteenMemberDaas Yochid: Most intelligent and informative.
Popa: Most interesting and funny.
Mytake: Most levelheaded.
(The others are great too, but you asked for the very best…)
observanteenMemberM.: What a profound thought! I loved the end! I wrote about change too. I wrote it after going through a major change that really helped me grow.
Change
Change is hard
Change is challenging
Change is exhausting
And very demanding
Change can frighten
Change can scare
Change can hurt
Make you drop a tear
Change will cause
A twist in history
Its future beholds
An unknown mystery.
But…
Change can lead you
Down a happy road
And direct you
To your peaceful abode
Change can convert
Your pain and sorrow
In happiness and fulfillment
And a better tomorrow.
observanteenMemberI’m scared of skyscrapers. For some odd reason, I feel like they might cave in! >:(
observanteenMemberDo you think Avraham Garfinkel is ok?;)
observanteenMemberI came to realize that EVERYTHING you say will probably end up going to the person you least want to know about it. That’s just the way it works. I stopped repeating stuff I felt was personal, even if I wasn’t explicitely told to keep it a secret. I’m not really sure about this situation (since you gave us very limited info), but I’d suggest you should try preventing this from happening in the future. It really takes some time to get used to it, but the payoffs are big. (Guess “Syag Lechachma” is a pro;)) People trust you with their personal stuff and you don’t feel like a chatterbox. Hatzlacha in whatever you do!
observanteenMembers2021: Hey, I certainly hope that’s true!:) Thanks once again!
observanteenMembers2021:Thanks! I got so much chizuk from your post!!:)
I’m also grateful for the bumps in the road I experienced. I was just scared there’s more to come… But, B”H, I’m really relaxed. I daven every day that my zivug should shteig, have good middos, etc.. Let’s hope for the best!
observanteenMembermytake: Thank you! I’m doing Ok, B”H. I’m truly happy for my friend!
Shticky: Neat! But this is not the “show off your talents” thread…:)
observanteenMemberYeah, but the work is relaxed too. They wait veryyyy patiently for us to get them done:)
observanteenMemberI figured this is the best thread not to reply on, cuz I’m supposed to be cleaning for Pesach right now. So, I’ll go ahead and refrain from replying. See? I’m not addicted at all.
observanteenMemberWhew! I’m drained! Just sneaked in here for a sec. Okay…Back to Pesach cleaning! C u later!
observanteenMemberCuz they want to go right ahead with where they left off. (Ok, now do I get the Outstanding Righty Brilliance Award?)
observanteenMemberThat was their goal, don’t you get it?? They want us to make a fuss, discuss it… That’s what advertisements are all about! So let’s IGNORE them. They’ll get the message;) (I have to admit, it DID get my att.!)
observanteenMemberI’m grateful for the Gorgeous weather outside, and for the brilliant blue sky!:)
observanteenMemberAPusheteYid: Cute! Thanks everyone. B”H, I calmed down. Guess it was a passing phase. (Although I’m still concerned, but not worried).
observanteenMemberI wrote this one when I finally overcame my Anxiety:
Change Of Scenery
My glasses were once
Painted in black
I saw mysery and darkness
Happiness it lacked.
To me it was
Always night
An ugly picture
greeted my sight:
Confusion
Allusion
Corruption
Disruption
Ignorance
Arrogance
Fear
Dispair
Tyranny
Agony
Depression
Aggression.
I was
Alone
Forlorn
In a sea of black.
My glasses are now
Shaded in pink
I see happiness and light
The sight in I drink.
To me there is
Always light
A beautiful picture
Greets my sight:
Clarity
Serenity
Happiness
Contentedness
Fairness
Awareness
Positivity
Reality
I am
Uplifted
Inspired
By a world so bright.
observanteenMembersmartcookie: Thanks!
observanteenMemberThanks, sac! You really helped me look at it in a positive light. Ok, I’m up to bat! (BTW, I just came home from the lechaim. Guess it lightened my mood!:))
observanteenMemberStuffedCabbage: I’m staying here too. THAT’S a BIG part of it!
eclipse: No, it’s not just you. Unfortunately, abuse is pretty common nowadays.
observanteenMemberDeizooger: I know, I know. It’s pretty hard putting it into practice though.
My neighbor who I’m very close with is probably getting engaged tonight. It scares me! (Aww, I’m excited too!) Y’know, this year’s almost over, I’ll be outta school sooner than later. Then there’s seminary. And then….???! What will my life turn out to be like?? Where will I end up working?? Who’ll I’ll marry? Am I overreacting?
observanteenMemberlol! I’ve been asking my mom this question ever since!
observanteenMemberI think it’s a great way of learning. Why let your brain go to waste? I think I read somewhere that we use approx. 2% of our brain! Isn’t that amazing? There’s always sooo much more to learn and know! As for the kids who can’t keep up, they can get help (perhaps thoroughly reviewing their work at home with them). But why lower the level because of them? And what about the bright kids? Are they supposed to stare into space out of boredom?
observanteenMemberWow!!! You lefties are really BRILLIANT. Being that I’m unfortunately a righty, I need an explanation. What the hell are you talking about? (It’s not MY fault I’m sooo dumb. I’m a RIGHTY silly.)
observanteenMemberUh, Stuffed? I’m afraid you forgot to post with your other screen name;)
observanteenMemberI can mimic the way others talk/walk/hand gestures etc. Is that a talent?
