we got sugar cookies with chocolate sprinkled on top in a beige and brown bag, a chocolate liquor and some chocolates in a brown and beige container. Very pretty, and not too hard to make!!

We made one year an apple theme; red and white gingham container (with bows on the corners, know what I mean?), two apple turnovers, an apple juice and a red apple. It was really sweet!

    (Although not very classy)

It used to bother me too. But, I came to realize that life’s not easy no matter what. The skinny girl doesn’t have it all – believe me! She’d probably even switch places with you. So, there really is no reason to envy others. Oh, and of course not to HATE others for such a petty thing.

Lakewood is more yeshivish and learning style. Flatbush is a bit more modern (although you can still be yeshivish there).

My father is a great Talmid Chacham (Rosh Kollel), and he certainly does what the Shulchan Oruch says. He used to get drunk every Purim, and I mean REAL drunk. It was nausiating and even frightening. I used to have nightmares about this, and actually developed some kind of a phobia. For my sake, he stopped drinking. Now, THIS is what I call a mitzva! Purim is supposed to be a happy Yom Tov, NOT a sad one. And if it made me sad, he stopped. I think ur allowed to get drunk, but, PLEASE don’t get “Stone Drunk”. Your wife/kids have a heart too! Don’t make it hard on them. And if your wife begs you not to get drunk, then, I don’t think you’re oiver on the Shulchan Oruch. If you davka want to be yoitze, take a nap.

A Freileche Purim to all of you!!!

My friend said she’s allowed cuz her father was in our city (baalei beiur). I said it was assur. Anyway, we whent home with a lady driver in the end, but, later learned that I was right. It was totally assur!(It was past 11:00)

An elevator is not yichud, bc it’s for a very short time. If, however, it is maneuvered by a man, it’s a sheila.

Poppa: no, I don’t think Hashem’s playing “Gotcha'”. It’s just that we learn it in school and I’ve never been aware that it’s not “just” one aveira, but, you’re oiver every second. Some ppl just don’t realize the magnitude of the aveirah. They think it’s just for “one minute”.

We can always do teshuva. I don’t think that this is a sign from heaven that Moshiach’s around the corner (he’s coming anyway, Achake lo bechol yom sheyavo, but, I don’t think we should rely on THIS).

OMG. Whatever happened to civil dialogue? Can’t we have a normal discussion in the CR without making others feel bad? Why are you attacking canine? Personally, I’d try to find out the truth. But, I must admit, canine isn’t totally wrong here. They are at fault for a lot of things. And if you disagree, say so, and give proof that the other party is wrong. Please stop knocking others down. It irkes me!

Now I know I’ll get attacked for this comment so I’ll take my leave……

ItcheSrulik: I thought you liked the name Shaigetz (I love the name “member”).

I wasn’t trying to be sarcastic when I wrote I was sorry. I truly was. But, I don’t think my sin was that great.

As far as halacha is concerned, it is assur to wear eyemakeup, no matter what type. (OK, it’s not Doreisa, I think it’s Daas Yehudis) Wait!! I didn’t make that up. Yes, Rabbi Falk writes this. And yes, I go by his Shitta.

I think Canine has clarified you in the MO area.

Now, pray tell, why did you put “Observant” in quotes? I think I’m pretty observant, if not TOO much for ya, huh?
