not IMember
as far as I know you do not say it if you ae in middle of Shma (brachos ncl) and you wait..
not IMemberNot sure why this “yeshivishe shprach” it sounds very much like regular yiddish to me!!
not IMemberOh boy.. my favorite topic…
I hate going to certain shuls cause all you do is watch ppl doing teh wrong things..
It happens a lot in the ezras nahsim cause they have the catching up issues often.
1. If you are in middle of Sh’E and the chazzan is saying kaddish you must stop your Sh’E.
not IMemberVery valid point about a parent respecting their kids no matter what. this would help yeshiva boys who aren’t cut out to sit and learn. They feel either they are a loser or a learner wioth no other options. They have to feel appreciated and respected even if they aren’t matzliach..
etc..
not IMemberWolf..
Yes I hear what you are saying.. As a kid I spelled it with a ‘pay’ til my teacher made me never to forget. Always remember that the English version is “rebecca’ so it mast have a v!
November 19, 2010 4:20 pm at 4:20 pm in reply to: Anyone With An Original Voicemail Message? #1193496not IMembernot so funny and not so related..
I was redting a shidduch to a friend when the mother told me she wasn’t interested because the girls message was in appropriate for a girl her age!! (she had heard it once when she was a reference earlier) I had no clue what to tell her..I wasn’t sure if I should tell my friend to change it either..
not IMemberWell at least they feel a drive when they are mechadesh.. Even if it is not theirs.. There is still a geshmak in that.
not IMemberDaven for god kids and you wont have this problem. In the good yeshivos/sems this is far less prevalent. there is not that much spare time to spend the money..
Besides the Israeli economy would be in shambles if not for the Americans doing their year there! It’s not like supporting the Arabs or anything like that
not IMemberWIY. I guess you are a believer in learning bekius. If you are learning a whole mesechta a zman yes you will need bechinos cause you never let the gemara become part of you. Rush.. We need to finish up.. the bechinos will keep you focussed somewhat. Someone who learns b’iyun knows it far better cause he goes into the kishkus of it.
not IMemberI think it is worse to go out and then the answer would be no and the facing the person problem is much worse!! As well still misleading him into thinking that you are interested.. Ppl get offended or hurt.. Is that worth it cause you never know what could happen!?
not IMemberpopa_bar_abba That is pathetically rude! No one likes to be misled into thinking you are really interested.
not IMemberI think this will have to be implemented to prevent boys going OTD. Boys receive a tremendous amount of pressure from the yeshiva system. They easily feel like a no one if they are not matzliach in understanding a tif vort.. It is a hard job to keep them erlich and along the correct path if they don’t feel learning is for them.. there must be another way for them to feel driven and successful!
not IMemberBesides for that they are not far from Lakewoods lake.. Nice walks etc..
not IMemberTheir food is delicious, rooms are nice, clean and new.. Enjoy!
not IMemberMy husband cooks all the time. Cholent and teh liver is his job every week.. He doesn’t usually have time to cook but during bein hazemanim he cooks up a storm.. He either follows a recipe book or does what he thinks.. I am all for it!!
He helps me with braiding the challos too..
November 12, 2010 5:51 pm at 5:51 pm in reply to: Dealing with difficult or annoying people: My theory #713729not IMemberGevaldig Chiddush!
not IMemberBesides it was not the Swiss or Hungarian or even the Polish who instigated the mass killings. I hear what you are saying though.. but still disagree. I think it sounds like it is too hard to bother.. Goal of yetzer Hara especially by Shmiras haloshon- all ossur- it is so hard.. 4get the whole thing!
not IMemberExactly.
Sometimes when the log rises to the top, part of it is uncovered. The part that is uncovered remains dry and the paper gives you a hard time..
I know what it is all about!
not IMemberHi there, when you work Mincha isn’t that simple. yes only 5 mins but still.. As a girl i also davened Mariv. beautiful thing.. So who cares if you don’t have a chiyuv? Some say it’s even nicer cause it is a nedava!
November 11, 2010 10:03 pm at 10:03 pm in reply to: VOTE HERE if guys in BMG should wear name tags #729132not IMembermcsfeb.. Not so funny they have Shidduch data bases. you type in your choices and the responses pop up!!
not IMemberIf people on YW weren’t judgmental it wouldn’t be interesting. besides people enjoy saying firy comments just to hear the response! They may not even believe or feel what they write here!
November 11, 2010 6:41 pm at 6:41 pm in reply to: VOTE HERE if guys in BMG should wear name tags #729116not IMemberI think they should just have the barcode.. the one they mail out before the zman. Then you find out from the office in a more dignified manner..
Besides people like that they are annonymous there. no one knows you so who cares!!
not IMemberlamb is delicious! Soft and fatty. yum.. Lamb Chops!
not IMemberI wash all my husbands shirts. I scrub the collars firt with Shout.. I add bleach to the load and none have stains!!
November 11, 2010 5:54 pm at 5:54 pm in reply to: Fathers and brothers dancing with the Kallah #709189not IMemberWell said Mod 80! Sharp! Couldn’t agree more..
not IMember🙂
not IMemberWorst job is doing the onions. For those hand grating kugel.. Worst part is the onions.. tears, stinging eyes.. And your hands stink for ages too!:)
not IMemberMod 80 isn’t that the correct approach.. Way to learn things in life.. For men I guess Gemora would be that ‘outlet’ (lehavdil)possibly..
November 11, 2010 4:36 pm at 4:36 pm in reply to: Fathers and brothers dancing with the Kallah #709176not IMemberThere is an inyan of Keitzad Merakdim lifnei hakalla.. I guess this is an extension of this…
not IMemberone comment off the wall leads to other topics tryong to make sense of it!
not IMemberImpossible to understand the Southern accent.. Call sprint if would like to hear it!! 🙂
not IMemberAustralian wins by far!!
BTW FYI Prof. The English and Australians spell yogurt with an ‘h’! Yoghurt!!
not IMemberI remeber going there years ago.. I was served by a handicapped getlemen. Such a nice thing.. As a kid I was petrified .. but still I think it was so nice!
Apparently the Safeway opened up near there expecting to take away the business from 7 MM. They were wrong.. No one shopped there so now 7MM is moving into their old store!!
November 10, 2010 9:28 pm at 9:28 pm in reply to: Whats your typical menu Shabbos night and day? #933594not IMemberDelicious and easiest chicken is cooked in an oven bag. (Not so easy to come by..) You put the chicken in the bag with some spices and some potatoes (optional) and some onion (usually left over from the “Eiyer Mit Zvibbel” and Cucumber Salad I make!)
No messy clean up either.. My mother used to add the juice into the chicken soup.. Delicious flavor made the soup rich .. and oily..
November 10, 2010 9:12 pm at 9:12 pm in reply to: Sick and tired of spoiled cholov yisroel milk #708327not IMemberI was always told that R’ Moshe gave the heter of Chalav Stam being Ok when there was nothing else. Now a lot of people just adopted the ‘minhag’ cause .. why not? If it is OK for R’ Moshe it is Ok for me?!
Besides the fact that CS milk lasts longer sounds like there must be extra stuff in tehre possibly preservatives or other not such good stuff kosher is usually most natural etc…
not IMemberKA is actually an Australian hechsher. You will not see it on many products in the US. They are machshir on Corn Thins. For that is reliable. I know that the Chassidish Rov in Melbourne, Australia gave his OK on that product as well.
not IMemberHearing about Kidushei HaShem. I like the pay raise too!
not IMemberThere is always water for you to enjoy besides for the soda!
Why shouldn’t they serve soup? Nothing else to discuss I guess..
not IMemberhatzlacha on your second attempt!
November 3, 2010 8:25 pm at 8:25 pm in reply to: Which Seminaries are known for focusing more on Hashkafa? #706270not IMemberObviously you are dating the wrong type of guys.. Come on! I am a BY girl married to a Yeshiva boy who definitely knows what it is all about. Neither of us are acting, making decisions cause that’s what we do.. Get A life!
November 3, 2010 1:47 pm at 1:47 pm in reply to: Yated, Hamodia, Jewish Press? What Is Your Choice? #707628not IMemberI think people want to misinterpret the message of Ben torah. he has a very valid point.. think about it before you argue it with pointless arguments.
November 3, 2010 1:44 pm at 1:44 pm in reply to: Which Seminaries are known for focusing more on Hashkafa? #706255not IMemberThen again most Gateshead products will not be thrilled to have their husband to be on the internet so often as WIY..
Sorry I had to say that!
November 3, 2010 1:30 pm at 1:30 pm in reply to: Which Seminaries are known for focusing more on Hashkafa? #706254not IMemberBy far Gateshead wins according to those criteria.
not IMemberBPT So you have a tv do you?
Shucks now you can’t imitate him though! Sure you found someone else since..!
not IMemberAlways under discussion in my home. What it boiled down to is how the parents are brought up. For ex. my mother always paid for her things as a girl where as my father held that while you are in the house you are under his care..
not IMemberI remember as a kid my father pointed out a Halacha from the Mishne Berura that after a sneeze and someone responds with gezuntheit or the liek the sneezer should reply with ” boruch ti’ye, lishuascha kivisi HaShem”..
One of the many halachos my father taught me!
not IMemberBPT I love the Australina Accent. Not sure how it has shechus here anyway.. In seminary we had a few Australian girls and we were imitating their accents the whole year!
November 2, 2010 5:37 pm at 5:37 pm in reply to: Yated, Hamodia, Jewish Press? What Is Your Choice? #707620not IMemberI am not sure what this hack is all about. Girls see pictures of women role models in school. I remeber being shown a picture of Sara Schenirer in school. Besides, further back in history I am not sure there are not too many pictures available. Not sure why you are getting carried away! Why rely/ blame it on the newspapers to show ff pictures of role models
not IMemberWhen I looked at the title i tought you would want o go somewhere NICE! I would recommend Solomon Suites for a real nice get away. Food great and pleasant atmosphere too!
October 28, 2010 3:15 pm at 3:15 pm in reply to: Yated, Hamodia, Jewish Press? What Is Your Choice? #707569not IMemberThere are Halachic discussoins about reading letters to the coffe room on Shabbos.. Just by the way!
