not IMember
The B11 would not be able to run through the neighborhood.
That would mean that possibly nurses would not be able to come help the elderly etc.. mail would have to be stopped on Shabbos..
Besides, a lot of the buildings have Russians..
Nice thought but doubt anything more than that!
February 1, 2012 5:41 pm at 5:41 pm in reply to: How much does it cost to support for a year? #853862not IMemberIn America it is easier to find a job. In America $2000 is enough but there wouldn’t be much to put away after car insurance, groceries, babysitting, rent & utilities.
I think that in EY the life is definitely beautiful but without a job it is hard for the wife and a tighter budget would have to do.
June 5, 2011 2:46 pm at 2:46 pm in reply to: Pouring Wine/Grape Juice Back Into The Container #860460not IMemberThe chassidim have a minhag of pouring off wine from kiddush for another reason.
They want to have kedushsas shabbos in the havdala to take them throughout the week..
not IMemberI m with My take!!
I always enjoyed public speaking but now I have no opportunity 🙁
I also enjoyed making up the speach lots of fun!!
not IMemberI do not collect anything but I would mention here that stationery as in fancy papers, cards is actually spelt with an ‘e’.
The way to remember is that car that is stanionary is with an ‘a’ like cAr. Stationery like pEns is with the ‘e’..
Hope that is helpful..
I learnt that when I had a stationery collection as a kid.
The fads were Hi Beary, Hello Kitty, Lisa Frank and Carson Delosa anything less was worth a trade….
not IMemberWomen need that extra boost of kedusha that they are born with. They wouldn’t be able to survive spiritually with out it. Think about if a man would be able to make it with out going to minyan for 25 yrs in their life. A woman generaly doesn’t go to shul when she has children at home. Even on the yomim no’raim she is lucky if she goes for a few mins. A woman has built in kochos that instill in her the kedusha that she doesn’t get from the sources men do.
not IMemberThe same goes for buying at Jewish stores. It hurts when I see Yidden in goyish stores that have the same stuff as the Yiddish ones! When my family asked the shaile baout how much more must one spend to give the parnassa to a yid, we were told up to 10% more.. I think that was the number. More than that you are not chayav.
not IMemberBasic Colors has the best prices. Shell station charges $25 for a long sleeve shell.. Not that exciting when the sweater cost you only $20!
not IMemberI already prepared my baked stuff.
Prepared for about 15. Anyone extra will not get!
Idea is to go into Brooklyn/MOnsey on Purim day so you give early and you disapear!

not IMemberFunny story..
One Shabbos morning my uncle responded to a Hatzala call in a shul like the one explained. They had a kiddush and one of the congregants offered my uncle a drink. My uncle responded “I’ve got to drive back, i wont take one thanks..”
The congregant respnded “That’s OK I am driving back too!”
BTW in their community there is not always a Shabbos goy to drive the car back..

Both him and Werdiger would be my choices.

not IMemberBill Gates is going to be brought up to heaven.
They are going to greet him and tell him- “Gehinom”- you created the internet with so much bad stuf…
So he retorts.. ” Look at how much Torah is spread cause of it. Not only bad..”
He is told “You get a choice.”
He is escorted to Gan Eden. There he sees old men poring over gemoros in a dilapidated beis medrash. He thinks, this can not be. Not interested.
He is then shown gehinom. There he sees a bar lit up with ppl filling their glasses one after the other. He tells his escorts “Gehinom is what i choose!”
He gets there and he is scorched and burnt from the flames and he asks “This is not like I was shown..”
They answer him
” That was just a screen saver!!!!!!”

There were times when hamodia refused to run certain ads and therfeore lost very (potential) profitable customers!!
As well their ads are not allowed to promote internet use. They do not have a website like Yated, Matzav.com.

January 30, 2011 4:18 pm at 4:18 pm in reply to: Bais Chaya Rochel (Newer Gateshead Seminary) #790432not IMemberI know a few girls that went there and enjoyed it immensely.
Gateshead is a great place for sem. being that there is such a limited access to gashmius.. The ppl that live there are simpler ppl. The lessons are supposed to be great!
Yes, girls do NOT have to go home so often. Teh enlish girls know that their ‘over-seas’ friends are looking to stay by a friend for one of their vacations..
As well England is close to EY and often the first year for Succos the girls go to EY.. Not always but I know friends who did that..
Your daughter is not going to regret it at all!!

not IMemberAlways ask a Rov.

not IMemberMy father was always makpid about this!
He said something about losing ones parents. I guess like others mentioned it has something to do with Aveilus. Mustn’t be directly realted since avelim do wear shoes just not leather ones..
I now know that since we have Hungarian origin that is why we are makpid and my husbands family isn’t.. It leaves me to institute it in our home.. which I do try to do!
