I’m so sorry 🙁 How have you been? I read about the watching problem, I don’t have any constructive advice and don’t want to sound redundant, but I can only imagine how hard it must be and what pains you are going through to try and stop it. Have you tried rewarding yourself for every day that you don’t watch it?

First of all-to people that are overweight, losing it is the biggest/hardest challenge. It’s not fair to make an assumption that changing an intrinsic personality trait is harder than losing 50 pounds. Second of all, if we go with your arguement- how come it doesn’t work in the ‘real world’ of shidduchim? IMHO it’s because a boy can tell right away from the resume picture what a girl looks like so if she isn’t “desirable” she’ll be written off. Nasty personality traits will only crop up once the dating process has begun.

College is a commitment, it’s not something you do on a whim or just to get it overwith. College is expensive and requires a lot of attention and effort.

Elphaba AKA The Wicked Witch of The West most definitely is in Baum’s books…
Wicked (The Broadway) went ahead and played up her background (which according to Baum fans is completely distorted) I like the Wicked version because it intellectualizes her “wickedness”. That is precisely why I choose my SN. In the song “No One Mourns The Wicked” (From Wicked) there is one line: “Are people born wicked or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?”.
Aren’t you the impatient one too?
Perhaps there is a connection between the two…?

True Wicked fans believe that the Wicked version is the correct version and that Baum’s Elphaba is SERIOUSLY misunderstood…
So while I ‘disagree’ with The Wizard Of Oz, I do not think that there is anything inherently wrong with it from a hashkafic/halachic POV (But like I said- I may be biased since I am huge fan of the story regardless of which version is correct)
