    1) How did you raise enough money to cover all your spending money in sem?

    2) What cell phone plan is the best in EY in terms of service and price?

All I know about Chedvas is that its shana bet for American girls, however they might also have quite a number of Israeli girls going there for shana alef. I’m in twelth grade now and I have a friend my age who is planning on going to Chedvas next year (they are one of the only sems who allow girls living in Israel for some reason). My friend told me they don’t have tests or homework (I could check that with her again if you want)and they are mostly a BY crowd- more so that Pninim.

Thats all I know- hope it helps… 🙂

My favorites are Handel (water music), Tchaikovsky (nutcracker suite) and Vivaldi (spring).

My more modern-day favorites are Yanni (one man’s dream) and Yiruma (a river flows in you). (Yanni and Yiruma are very classical-style.)

    I LOVE classical music!! 😀

    Thanks everyone!!

2 people in my family need makeup done; myself and my mother. After calling a lot of your recommended people, and discovering that they all charge an average of like $80, I booked with Esther Levy who only charges $45. I called 4 references and they all loved her. So I guess we’ll stick to her- hope she really is as good as she sounds… I’ll let you know if she is! If anyone else has had experience with her you’re more than welcome to let me know!

And has anyone been to Adam’s? I’m hearing good things about them… though it’s not a Jewish place…

So if I go aboard, I’m not considered part of an American collage?

Lets say I’ll get credits through Touro next year; I think Touro tuition is aprox $900 for your seminary year (if your planning on taking credits). Could I get a collage scholarship? If I could, would it only go toward the $900 I’m paying Touro or could it also go toward the rest of seminary tuition??

If I apply to online scholarship programs, do I also need to be enrolled in a collage (or get collage credits through the seminary) in order to receive scholarships from types of programs like scholarshipexperts.com (they say they are collage scholarships but could seminary be considered my first year of collage?) thanks… sorry it my thoughts aren’t so clear…

I’m not really understanding. Which scholarship programs did you apply to? I just have to find them online? And the amount you got covered your full tuition plus more?

Is it true that you can only get a scholarship if you’re an amazing student? Is there any good scholarship I could get without that?

Hi! I just discovered that I’m going to have my interview for Seminar with Mrs. Flam pretty soon.

Does anyone remember what types of questions are asked? I hear there are some sems that ask VERY wierd questions… and I would need to prepare for them.

If you remember any specific questions that would be VERY helpful. (Weird or not.)

And is there any specific traits Seminar is looking for?

What we learned in Halacha class is that if it looks like bread and tastes like bread– guess what, it’s bread. If it’s eaten with a meal-like filling (tuna, cream cheese, egg, etc.) no one can get away with calling it a snack. Technically, if you take 2 slices of marble cake and eat them with tuna in between, you have to make a hamotzi. We were taught that really people should wash on pizza, because its generally eaten as a meal, whether you have 1 slice or 2, and it has a “meal-like filling” (cheese and sauce)but that’s a machlokes. Even it a person has a certain amount of, say, cake (don’t know the amount- but a lot) they even have to wash on that (even if its just for a “snack”).

As you see, this gets complicated. I suggest you ask your rabbi how he paskins.

I was actually about to start a topic just like this. I applied to Seminar and I would really like to know what the interview will be like!

ATT. SEMINAR GIRLS: What type of questions are asked? Do they make you read? If so, what? Like just Chumash text or Rashi, Ramban… And the interviewer is male or female? Intimidating? Do they mostly want to ask lots of questions or get into a conversation with you and let you do all the talking?

loveparty, did you apply to Seminar too?

loveparty, Nachlas is a great place. Yes I have heard that it is very yeshivish… and I think you need a pretty high average to get in. They are looking for amazing girls, the location is a dream, and the dorms are gorgeous. That’s just about all I know about Nachlas.

Just you wait and see. Obama will somehow find a way to repeal the amendment that states that a president can only have 2 terms. This guy found a way to somehow pass an unconstitutional law that requires mandatory healthcare, and more. He’s capable of anything and next thing you know, he’ll be president for the next 30 years, chas v’sholom. Goodbye America.

Well, one thing that I do know about Meohr (from a girl who is there this year) is that R’ Greenwald made it very clear that no iPods will be tolerated. (with or without Jewish music.) That’s what I was told anyway.

ahavas_yisroel, sounds like Darchei Binah might be just what she is looking for! Maybe also check out Meohr and Bnos Chava. She should talk to a seminary adviser in school (if her school provides).

helpmeoutplease- ever considered Meohr? Sounds like the girls there would suit what you are looking for. I’m surprised you know someone who had a bad experience in Darchei Binah- it’s supposed to be really good.
