Is it better for a girl to be way above average without any influence at home rather than just to be a good Bas yisroel with the other fringe benefits? I wonder,,,

I stressed in my last post that considering the girl is of good quality,,,

As far as nos. 5 BEING SUBJECTIVE, lets assume that for the first four choices the girl is Very Good,

The last choice is a SPECTACULAR girl but without any of the other benefits.

Just curious to know why a Talmid Chochom is a better choice than a ‘Klall doer’.

Dont forget, the girl takes what she sees at home and because middos are a priority for a girl, she would make a better wife with an example like that. If her father knows how to learn, its a wonderful thing, but how will that benefit her as a wife and mother??

The following is an early ‘New Year’ wish. Relevant, but humorous,,,,

May your occupation, whatever it may be, homemaker or doctor, lawyer or tailor, house husband or stock broker, give you much satisfaction.

And may it also earn you enough money to send your children through college and graduate school, and to support them ever after.

May you see a rainbow, may your child hit a home run with the bases loaded, may your team score a touchdown.

May the Sabbath Queen enter your home and enable you to follow the teachings of the Torah with love.

In this New Year that now begins, may your hair, your teeth, your facelift and your stocks not fall, and may your blood pressure, your cholesterol and your mortgage interest rate not rise.

May you win the lottery, and thereby acquire a host of long lost relatives, and may you remember Beth Tfiloh when you win.

May Israel stop being the punching bag of the United Nations. May it be able to live a normal life at last. And may it bless the world with its morality, its wisdom and its creativity. And may we support her wholeheartedly, and love her because, with all her faults, she is family.

And may we meet on the streets of Jerusalem in the year to come, and if the Messiah arrives, may we recognize him or her.

May this year be happy, healthy and prosperous for you and your loved ones.

Well maybe this story will shock you more, actually I posted it on another blog but nevertheless:

A little boy of about 9 years old ran out to the garden of his shtiebel during leining one Shhabbos to play. When he returned to the Bais Medrash, he noticed that an elderly man had occupied his seat. H e politley claimed his place . A few minuites later, the father of that little boy approached the elderly man and said, ,yes, this indeed is my boy,s seat, please find somewhere else to sit,

So if parents dont enforce basic DE for others, how do you expect the kids to have it?

Ther i alot of sincere crying and begging. In fact I remmember I oncec noticed that during the ‘aishes chayil'(when choson kallah dance together) the momof the choson had a special tefillah to say.

ThisLitvack DID stay for MT, cos he was family to Baal Simcha.

Shaul Hamelech was commanded to kill out a town of Achzorim(please remind me the name of the town, somebody!). But because he had rachmonos on the wrong place he let one live(some say it was a sheep), and from that one came Amalek.

Then without Rachmonos he killed out Nov Ir Hakohanim.

Yes one should have not reservations about killing an amalaki.

Please don,t be an ‘oiberchuchme’, If you dont believe that the Kenendy’s were cursed, then how do you explain the devastating misfortune that befell almost every memeber of that family, coupled with the fact that the old man was an outspoken anti semite?

Yes, thre was indeed a delegation of Rabonim who put acurse on the Kennedy family. We (in our religion) DO NOT BELIEVE IN SUCH COINCIDENCES, BUT lets not waste time and energy disucussing the Kennedys,

I knew the Rav in question was R Kanievsky when I posted the story. But because of hype on the blog about he 73 year coma, I decided that its better for the ‘Gedolim Bashers ‘

Is it possible that your not aware of everything?? Throwing around expressions like ‘absurd and am haaratzish’ is not just Gaavah(which btw, is something the ALMIGHTY hates) but it might fall into the category of ‘Hamalbin….(welll, you know what that leads to RL)

I personally am not jealous at those who flaunt their swanky lifestyle. I envy those who are able to give tzedakah in massive amounts!

I think THAT type of jealousy is ok. Our sages tell us ‘Kinas Sofrim, Tarbeh Chochmoh’

So people, next time you have the urge to ‘outdo’ your rich neighbour, never mind the lexus. Instead, give an abundance of tzedakah, publiclly(even if giving it quietly is a bigger mitzvah) because then you’ll encourage your competitors to do the same thing and at the same time, the less fortunate wont be jealous but will admire you. Even if they are jealous, that jealousy would be ok.

    Everyone is happy:)))

Why not?? Why are you so intimidated by people who have questions? Answer them with confidence and dont forget you have the Torah on your side so there is no reason for them to get to you.

Cantoresque apparantly thinks that because he MIGHT be able to say a nice ‘Shma Koleinu’ on Yom KIPPUR, he is worthy of having Maran Harav Hagodol Rav Chaim KANIEVSKY call him on his cell phone to confirm a story he was involved in because he doubts the credibility of the mesenger(a prominet Rebbetzin)

Yes, I adressed your point but I will repeat. There are lots of medical miracles which are not on record. I personally know of a frum guy who had nissim which doctors till this day cant figure out and its not public knowlege. In fact there is a non frum guy who was clinquely dead for a while and then returned. I posted the link on another blog. The Guiness Book of records includes topics which they are informed about. Many people want there experiences secret, and if they forbid their medical experts to release any information, their will must be respected by law.

But I challenge you to verify if your Guiness Book of Records lists the following information:

Tallest man that ever lived……..Og Melech Haboshon(actually I think they list a guy by the name of Robert Wadlow from Michigan, who was barely 8 feet tall, lol)

    Oldest man……….Mesushelach

    Biggest disaster in history……..the Mabul

Biggest miracle……..parting of the Yam suf??

    Matisyahu,

That was a wonderful expose’. I can imagine what your Bar Mitzvah Pshetel was like. You probably ‘knocked their socks off’.

Seriously, you did quite well until you tackled the following issues.

No, I dont think I misunderstood Rav Twersky. The fact is that Hashem is a Baal Rachamim, and it makes perfect sense for us to be able to speak in our defense by pointing out all our mitzvohs and Maasim Toivim in order to lessen our final psak. Did you know that if a person lived his life as a Rosho and is choizer Betshuva on his deathbed, everything is deleted? (Ad Yom MOSO tICHAKEH lo…..)I stand to be correctd, but I think every Jew gets a MAXIMIUM of an hour gehenom, regardless of his deed.

There was a story recently about a secular Jew who was cliniquely dead for some time, they send him back down because he had certain zechusimn, now he became abaal teshuva. Here is the link:http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7332930594849349840&hl=en

Your right, as I mentioned before, my reaction was a bit harsh. But please dont play ‘physcologist’ and tell me that I’m a feminist. What I meant to say is that a woman can be soiche to do mitzvohs OUTSIDE, AND be an Akeres Habayis. Assuming other wise would border on the ‘American Shtus’ of Male chauvenism. Pleae dont let yourself be brainwashed by secular society and understand that women have mitzvohs that might require them to be outdoors, and YES , after my time, I plan to excuse myself for being ‘oiver’ on Kol Kevudah…(in the literal sense) very confidently. May no JEW every transgress anything worst.

As for non-decaying bodies, I would believe it over the story of a 73 year coma for two reasons:

    1. Bodies that don’t decay *do* sometimes happen.

    2. The amount of evidence left behind by an undecayed body that was quickly reburied would be very small. The amount of evidence left behind by a 73 year coma patient would be great. A great deal of medical record-keeping and literature would have been generated by such a case. And yet, not one shred of evidence has turned up.

Excuse me, are you saying that you believe that bodies dont decay because ‘SCIENCE’ PROVED IT?? Not because the Righteous merited that zechus?? Again, you are looking at sources which can be bogus. Does the GUINESS book of records list the Parting of the Yam Suf as one of the biggest miracels ever??
