We encroached on this topic in a different thread. As far as I know, once a separation of church and state is achieved the state is defined as the property of the government. Please point me to any of the framers of our constitution that thought otherwise. I would be very open to your argument. But I never came across any thinker that even considered it.

Yes! I do not have any affinity for either party. (Okay. Maybe I prefer Republicans. But not by much.) Our President does not appear to have any leadership capabilities to me. Mr. Biden seems very capable of bungling the simplest political message. (It is not dementia. He has been messing up since before I was born.) It is funny that both candidates had no support in Washington 10 years ago, and now they have a dozen mouthpieces.

Health was kind enough to mention this on another thread. Before that, I was only vaguely aware. I do not read these types of articles. I consider myself too young. (Under two hundred and forty.) I assumed it was Ukraine, because these things are not considered an automatic no for the presidency. Additionally, stories about national figures come out in bunches. Is there still only one accuser, or one setting of abuse? Another point. If this is why he is unfit for office, how is Trump worthy? Was that what Rebyid’s point?

Thank you! Honestly, your post touched on a lot of different points, I am not confident that I got any of it. Please tell me, what will go away? I do not think even 10% of Americans are gathering in crowded areas. That would be over 30 million people! Where did you get half from? I do not see any cultural divide between Republican and Democrats. The supporting Trump line? That is less than 30% percent. How many of them are being stupid about it? A lot of people support their politicians like their are superstars. Like, a ten year old roots for Yankees/Dodgers, a twenty year old for American/European cars, and a thirty year for Republicans/Democrats. It seems very silly to politicize a virus. [Most other things that we politicize, are only a little bit silly]

Empirical data and covid have not really gone together too much.

Everything that was done was without the federal government stepping up production, or national coordination. In your view the Feds could not have done more. The States were ineffective. What will go away? Coronavirus? Maybe it can take the flu with it. Or, maybe it will be here for centuries.

Thew point here is that these yidden thrive on the claim that they follow their gedolim and are not influenced by current trends in how they apply Torah to themselves. When a civil commotion like this occurs, it comes across as a serious corruption of religion. The question is not about their values.
