    Dear Chash,
Don’t look at me, just saying what it means. Domestic violence does not only refer to active aggression. What is your issue with private security firms? They are used everywhere, and are trained and armed specifically for each task.

Unfortunately, this is not a new low. As we disagreed about elsewhere, people are scared and reactionary about current events.

I think there is a big mistake here. If a young person has a fair question or grievance against their community, it is very emotional. If they grow up and get married because it helps the emotional part, it could all come crashing down when they realize that everyone is avoiding the question or complaint. A lot of people who are disconnected from the community due to obvious emotional difficulties, actually have piercing questions underneath all their baggage. If they did not have a serious problem with being Jewish, they would find another community to accept them. May Hashem guide us to ultimate joyfulness.

    Dear Thelittle,
I fully agree with you about not ruining a good thread. The pro/anti Trump debate does not seem like an emotional one to me. It looks like a clash between focused politics versus intertwined politics. What about is more emotional than, say vaccines?

    Dear Two,
Your first sentence is unclear to me. Legislators are not scientists. Their work is reactionary and not one bit empirical. We did not have to give up any of our liberties because of the Government. This is not China. Protesters were not given any access to elective health care. Nor, where any businesses allowed to open to assist the protests. This seems to be a game of make believe victim.

    Dear Curiosity,
The four things you mentioned are not opinions. They are not facts either. It is how you relate to ideas/concepts/movements/fact. That is called feelings. The case can be made, that is a truer sense of self, and more applicable to social problems. Still, it is not the truth of itself.

    Dear Shnitzel,
So maybe if you are applying for a manly job, but Bigot on the resume. For other jobs, use Baguette. It seems like there is no empirical date, as the question would not have an empirical solution. There is enough applicable data on police aggression. The Government (for some reason) does not have a public database on this issue.

    Dear Lower,
I keep hearing this, but every time I check the CDC website things are the same. People hear things on differently on the news, but it is just slanted journalism. Originally the CDC stated that face masks will not prevent you from getting coronavirus. That is still true. Therefore they recommended not wearing one to avoid a false sense of security. Once the pandemic was here, face masks were promoted as a means of slowing down transmission. Though social distancing is considered more efficient than masks. There is no solid study on davening inside, but it does not seem to be simple to achieve a “safe” shul.

“Defund the Police” and “police abolition” does not mean get rid of law enforcement. It means that police officers should only focus on policing. Not drug overdoses, that for an EMT. Attempted suicide? Mental breakdown? Schizophrenic hallucinations? Mental health professional. Family skirmish? Domestic violence? Abuse? Trained therapist. Crowd control can be done with private security firms. Many police veterans are for it. Like everything else in this country, the unions (and insurance) get in the way.

    Dear Milhouse,
1)Killing a nochri is punishable just like killing without witnesses. Abortion is never mentioned as given to Yidden to mete out justice.
2)What about saving the mother’s health? Or an unknown risk? Does the Mother’s abilities and opinion play a role?
3)”Those few deaths” Living Yidden versus un-born Nochrim. Really?!? Even if you meant something else, אין .דוחין נפש םפני נפש
4)Even if you are correct on the whole topic, why does it matter if I am running as a Republican or Democrat? Do you consider this the central cause of Judaism?

    Dear Milhouse,
Representation may have been the reason for the census, but it is not so reliant on it anymore. (The process has become corrupted.) The census is used to determine State budgets and Federal projects. It affects your community’s education and transportation dollars. And so on.

    Dear Milhouse,
We seem to be on the same page here. The Jews lost their royal positions and were expelled from Krakow in the 15th century. The Warsaw blood libel in the 17th. As well as the Frankists. But compared to Europe at large, this is hardly significant.

    Dear Shnitzel,
There are several databases on misconduct by police officers. What do you want to study? There are a lot of social problems intertwined. The causes could be confused with the results. Is poverty a cause of lack of education, or the other way around? (Really old question.) If your resume shows the most potential and you do not get a call because of your name, that shows a bias. Still, do not put Bigot as your name on a resume.

    Dear Milhouse,
“Very little if any antisemitism” I guess you mean state sponsored. Among the general populace and especially from some of the priests, there was a lot of agitation.
Around 1900 the Jews in Poland splintered. And fought bitterly over political approval. The Jews inclusion in the parliament did not endear them to the common Pole. There is a lesson somewhere……….

    Dear Syag,
Health has been backed into a corner that defies logic, (self-contradiction) yet he insists on maintaining his position. We could discus the extreme position, but his take on the facts; that is beyond reason. Also, nobody is obligated to bring facts to an online forum. There is only so much that a faceless dialog can hold. For example, I can have good reason to think that the video is fake. But am unable to say why in public.

    1) Jews are not being counted separately in the census. No problem here.
    2) The siyum hashas was an estimation. No problem there.
    3) What part of coronavirus was right after the siyum hashas?
    4) This kind of thinking just for the purpose of defying Agudah (or the government) is a problem.

“I do not think” is a loaded statement for any philosopher. Here is how it would play out in the hypothesis of determining who is thinking. [The joke is the same.]
Descartes: So what ascertains your existence?
Nietzsche: You being yourself remains undetermined.

    Dear Health,
No, I did not. That is the point. There are different ways to react. All agree that dignity is the underpinning of society. Disregard others dignity and risk all kind of societal ills. We can bow our heads, and pour our hearts to Hashem. We do not have to protest. But we must acknowledge that every human deserves to be treated with respect.

    P. S. There is an EXTREME liberal school of thought that humans have no right to dignity. That all of civilization was built despite human dignity. And, if humans would behave like animals we would be far more advanced. If you subscribe to this school, I did not intend to engage you.

I was looking at the federal outlines on reopening the country. There is no federal plan for testing. A lot of this thread (As well as another one.) is debating the President’s response to the pandemic. It is clear that he just wants it to go away. He is not a leader.

You made a solid point. In general, what in our world does Hashem guarantee? 1)Tzeddakah pays. 2)The cry of the maligned is heard. 3) A thief gets his due. 4) The haughty are reduced. Et cetera. Guarantees in this world revolve around what an individual does with what is meaningful to themselves. Family by definition avoids this scenario. It has to be attained. It is not awarded.

I am aware of your opinion. It ignores context. You find others with the same opinion, and then justify their context. Finally, you apply that logic everywhere, and you have a convincing case. I disagree. Here is the question on your opinion. If the informer gets no benefit (Nor does he want to harm another Jew.) can he be called a moser? Without hezek there can be no moser.
