Its not putting it out from what is in the becher. It is taking the flame and putting it into alcohol which then sets a contained blazing fire, Then they put out the candle with the wine from the becher.

I got this dessert recipe for Summer S’mores Pie from the kosherology blog (exploretheworldofkosher.com). Its really good. He’s also got some other good looking recipes for summer like ribs in a crockpot, some salads, and pink eggs!

    Ingredients:

    1 whole Egg

    1 teaspoon Vanilla

    1 cup Flour

    1 cup Graham Cracker Crumbs

    1 teaspoon Baking Powder

7 oz. Container Of Marshmallow Cream

2-3 dark chocolate bars (broken into squares)

    1 cup Mini-Marshmallows

    Method:

In a large bowl beat butter and sugar together until combined, then add egg and vanilla and stir them in. Stir in flour, graham cracker crumbs and baking powder.

Divide the dough in half. Press half the dough in the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie pan. Evenly spread the Marshmallow Cream over the bottom crust. Separate chocolate squares and place on top of the Marshmallow Cream. Place 1 cup of marshmallows on top.

Using the remaining crust, pat sections of dough on top of and around all the marshmallows (they will still show through and that is great!). Sprinkle with 1/4 cup chocolate chips, then bake 20 minutes until lightly browned.

Remove pan from oven and set it on a wire rack. Cool completely before cutting.

My father was a mashgiach at a shul for a couple of years. He once went into the dairy kithchen and stired a pot that had eggs boiling in it and found that the kitchen help had placed hot dogs in the bottom of the pot. Why they could not use the meat kitchen I have no idea.

Health, I have a cousin who would be a good one to help me, but I am in the process of trying to change insurance plans right now and he does not accept what I currently have. Thank G-D, it has not been too bad since Friday and am hoping it keeps up this way. I experienced the same feelings last year and then it went away.I went to have it checked out once and nothing was found and it was attributed to stress. I dont know about that.

Mods, is the (annyoying) member by any chance posting from California? I just read an aticle on another website by someone who likes to come and visit the YWN coffee room to bother other people. From the other website(on which the person seems to mock frum people), it would seem like it is him. I find it disturbing.

I am glad to hear it was a joke. I realize they are ashkenazim, but what I am trying to say is that the ones I know dont “classify/label” themselves as such.

I am friendly with some lubavitchers and they do not classify themselves as Ashkenzi, meaning they do not always pasken same halacha as Ashkenazim regarding certain things, and daven Ari.- They classify themselves as Chabad/Lubavitch.

If you are ashkanazi, why did you refer to the Lubavitcher Rebbe as the moshiach in another thread? I dont know many ashkanzim that do so.(This is not an attack btw, just curious).

I think it meant around some people I feel inferior, and some people, superior. I dont think I really feel either to people, I just react differently to different people. People who come off as really confident, I might feel a little uncomfortable around(not inferior to), and to people who I am more confidant than, I might come off as feeling superior(not the lake).

Thanks for the editing know-how. Goq, you sure seem to be well versed in the movie. Mike, you make a good point but I do not really take pleasure or enjoy using scotch tape. Thats what makes me feel funny about watching the movie(enjoying it).

And Goq, maybe you could look at it as Dorothy(Jews) being carried to OZ, a foreign land (galus) and trying to find her(their/our) way back home…and learning that we should want to be home. It also tells us that Hashem provided us with all the character traits we may need, even though we may feel lacking at times(i.e. a brain, a heart and courage).

…If you want to hear my “the theme of Moshiach in Beauty and the Beast” too, let me know…or is that movie also Asur?

Cedarhurst, sometimes though don’t you think you might need to for Shalom Bayis. My brother in law keeps Cholov Yisroel and would not normally eat on Cholov Stam things(plates, utensils), but he does so at our house, I assume to keep Shalom Bayis.

Apushata, I was just looking over your post, that is exactly what I mean but I trust their kashrut, but not really the preparation/handling.

Apushatayid, what I mean is that for instance I wash my lettuce and make salads using all parve equipment and serving pieces. My neighbor I would think prepares everything on meat equipment. I once gave her our parve bowl to prepare salad in and she happened to put microwaved greenbeans in the salad. I asked her what status her microwave is and she answered “milk, I mean parve”. She keeps kosher( I have been in the fridge and in the pantry getting stuff to help her serve for the meal),and if she wants to prepare/serve things a certain way at her home…fine with me, and I will eat it. But I dont really want to let the stuff on my plates and stuff If I dont really know how she cooked it and mess up my parve stuff.

She also once showed me an old wooden bowl that she said belonged to her grandmother that did not keep kosher and then she once served salad in that. I guess maybe I should trust her kashrut either, but it is these rare cases and I dont want to insult her(and she will get insulted and already questions if I question her Kashrut).
