Rav TuvParticipant
What is strange is that yidden are the only people to actually have a problem with being politically independent in their own land.
Rav TuvParticipantDY
Why are you anti hot dogs? Were you bitten by a hot dog when you were little? Hot dogs are man’s best friend. Nothing wrong with hot dogs on Shabbos. Oneg is subjective.
Rav TuvParticipantThanks everyone. Of course you are all correct. Not sure what i was thinking.
Rav TuvParticipantRegarding your second question that Tnai is that something should HAPPEN and then this chalos will be chal but here the Tenai is if the HALACHA is this way then my KAVANA is to be Yotzay now.
Do not understand why you have challos by the seder. We only have matza.
Rav TuvParticipantThis Mah is not “what” which would portend a 5th question. It is an exclamation of “How” as in “Mah Tov” & “Mah No’iem”.
This is the opinion of the Lail Shimurim haggada by Rav Yechiel Michel Halevi Epstein Author of Aruch Hashulchan.
It is said in amazement: Oh How this night is different from other nights!
Rav TuvParticipantit would be stam yaynom…not yayin nesech.
Edited.
Rav TuvParticipantI dont really think asking a kasha on a shverrer Rambam and suggesting lumdishe terutzim is considered pilpul. And Im sure there is halacha l’maaseh there unless the rabbi darshens about the korban Pesach.
March 21, 2013 11:22 pm at 11:22 pm in reply to: Double Wrapping Pesach Food In Chometz Oven #939731Rav TuvParticipantachosid – Once your there, ask him all the rest of your halacha questions, and leave them out of this place.
Right on! Halachic discussions have no place on Yeshiva World.
Rav TuvParticipantThe price gouging is on matza. That is the 1 thing you must have. and the stores know it.
Rav TuvParticipantWhat chometz is in tobacco. IIRC the reason people refrain from smoking is because of the chometz glue on the filter/paper. But I could be totally wrong.
Rav TuvParticipantNP- It’s in meseches baba mayseh.
Rav TuvParticipanton the ball-
You must be joking. Start with Ramban, Rambam Rashi just to name 3. These rishonim had professions and learned. No rishon says everybody should sit in yeshiva whether they are REALLY learning or not. Maybe only an elite few the Rambam says could spend all their time learning. But certainly nothing like we are seeing now.
And you still didnt answer my question: 1 rishon that says everybody should be learning and not working.
Rav TuvParticipantThere isnt a mitzvah to kill Amalek until Moshiach comes and tells us who is Amalek. Since Sancheriv mixed the nations we can’t possibly know who is Amalek.
Rav TuvParticipantPlease somebody? anybody? give me one rishon who ascribes that everybody should be learning not working and taking tzedaka to support his family. Just 1 rishon.
March 14, 2013 9:56 pm at 9:56 pm in reply to: Does Anyone Know The Origin Of The Word 'Shul'? #936681Rav TuvParticipantshul comes from the German for school. also an abbreviation for sicha v’holilus.
Rav TuvParticipantKiddushin can be done w/ shava perutah. But the celebration is for the nessuin aspect and sheva brachos. In the olden days there was a year between kiddushin and nessuin. Kiddushin is not marriage. It is really like a betrothal that assers her on everyone else.
Rav TuvParticipantMigdal Eder an oldie but a goodie!
Rav TuvParticipantMah, you certainly are the busy bee. Within 1 hour of signing up on YWN you are going for your second smicha and working on Even Haezer. yasher koach!
Rav TuvParticipantAnd I already got my grammer flowers.
Rav TuvParticipantHealth- And even if you wouldn’t, by coming here with this topic, people reading this topic who don’t know better -you probably are being Nichshal them to eat Tarfus!
How many times do people have to hear that nobiody can pasken halacha l’maysa from the CR. No matter how knowledgable a poster seems. Any question as to how to act and what to do should be asked to your LOR. Course that’s only if I’m not available.
Rav TuvParticipantI dont think Moshe’s name is in Shoftim or ki seitzri. but dont have a chumash with me.
Rav TuvParticipantOMG this is ridiculous. Of course they have the same day as shabbos. regardless of where you go every 7 days is shabbos so they are always keeping shabbos on the same day.
what do i win?
Rav TuvParticipantThe gartel
Rav TuvParticipantBaalHabooze,
There wasn’t a complete sefer torah until the end of the 40 years.
The 10 commandments include all 613 mitzvos.the 10 are major headings. like allthe mitzvos of yom tov and Shabbos are included in zachor. all arayos are included in lo tinaf, etc.
Rav TuvParticipantYekke-The priveledge is that it is an obligation – we make a berocho
???? ??? ?’ … ??? ????? ???????? ?????? – we thank HKB”H for sancitfying us with his ?????, adn COMMANDING US…
Many mitzvos we don’t make a bracha on. Tzedaka, bikur cholim, lvayas hameis, etc.
December 27, 2012 11:19 pm at 11:19 pm in reply to: Some notes about what it means to be truly poor… #1001035Rav TuvParticipantShmendrick-My $0.02 based on many years of Torah study lishmah
Off topic but boy would i love to give you a farherr to see how much your “Torah study lishmah” has made you a lamdan. It certainly hasn’t helped your middos. Instead of kabbala, learn a little Messilas Yesharim, Then you will at least realize you haven’t learned “many years of Torah study lishmah”
and be more sumpathetic to a fellow yid in pain.
Rav TuvParticipantShmendrick, I will say your screen name is very fitting for you.
Rav TuvParticipantRD –The Vilna Shas is a modern innovation, relatively speaking, just like the printing press, in the course of Jewish history.
And it was one developed by Christians, the Romm family.
THe Brothers and widow Romm who developed the Vilna Shas were indeed Jewish.
Rav TuvParticipantI think it’s a badge of honor that the goyim ask me to work so they can enjoy their holiday. That is a kiddush Hashem.
Rav TuvParticipantReb Doniel, I’m sure it relaxes you so you can render psak better.
Rav TuvParticipantsame here APY.
December 26, 2012 10:11 pm at 10:11 pm in reply to: Happy Birthday!!! (you know who you are) #915497Rav TuvParticipantHappy Birthday Ferfal.
Rav TuvParticipantAnother surprise. Actually i remebered it’s my b-day when I got a “free” b-day gift from my credit card. So nice to be remembered. And now this.
Anyhoo I get to be 34 again…have to tell the grandkids. A 34 yr old zeide. Not too shabby
Thank you syag and the whole gang!
Rav TuvParticipantoops sorry I meant to say…
Emes is the OP is expressing kefira. On is forbidden to pray to anyone but Hashem . And only hashem can give us any ruchnios or gashmios anyway.

Rav TuvParticipantFor those requesting Moshiach, and other Ruchniyosdik stuff that intermingles with other people’s bechirah, please stop and reread the OP. This is about a Genie, not G-D.
Think gashmiyus, people, g-a-s-h-m-i-y-u-s!
Emes is the OP is expressing kefira. On is forbidden to pray to Hashem only. And only hashem can give us any ruchnios or gashmios anyway.
December 14, 2012 6:30 pm at 6:30 pm in reply to: Should kids have locks on their bedroom doors? #1002507Rav TuvParticipantOf course kids can have a lock on their doors… as long as the parents have a key.
December 14, 2012 6:27 pm at 6:27 pm in reply to: Does a Divorce indicate a Family lacked Shalom Bayis? #913358Rav TuvParticipantOr a goses w/o kids gives a get if brother wouldn’t give chalitza to the widow.
Rav TuvParticipant“I heard Gaon summoned The Dubno Maggid to give him musser. I too am asking for musser. Today I shtyged so much that I feel “bishvili nivra haolam”, that mamesh my learning is mikayem the whole world and it was all created for me, as chazal tell me!
I need some emergency serious musser to deflate my ego and help me return to my usual midah of sincere humility.”
I saw your krum learning and svaras in the Gutten Shabbos thread. You have no right to be gaavadik about your learning.
There’s your musser…thanks for asking.
December 14, 2012 3:50 pm at 3:50 pm in reply to: Taking vacation holidays between Dec 25 and Jan 1 #913102Rav TuvParticipantShmendrick “You are disturbed when discovering that your kiyum hamitzvos is less than stellar; that there are halochas that you never heard of; that others have a frummer lifestyle…that bothers you, you become disturbed, and that is a good thing.
No need to start howling with name calling simply because you have became a disturbed individual. Use the opportunity for growth and simchas hachayim!”
Wow! How do you know me so well? You must be one of my neighbors.
December 11, 2012 8:56 pm at 8:56 pm in reply to: Taking vacation holidays between Dec 25 and Jan 1 #913087Rav TuvParticipant“Is there an inyan to davka refrain from taking vacation or going on holidays between December 25th and January 1st?
On this issue, see Igros Moshe Y.D. vol 3, simon 85 that one should not vacation during this time EVEN if he has no intention to celebrate in their holidays, but vacations merely because the parents are off work and want to take a family trip, since the innocent intentions do not vitiate the issur”
So you admit you are a troll. Thanks
Rav TuvParticipantPearl Harbor was all day on my mind yesterday, and indeed both 12/7 & 9/11 should be public holidays, to give Americans more time to reflect & mourn.
Would that be another excuse gor state and federal workers to get 2 extra paid days off courtesy of the American taxpayer? People for the most part don’t reflect on days like Memorial day and Independence Day. Just days to bbq and commercialize the days. Anyway my day to reflect and mourn is April 15.
Rav TuvParticipantWhen the pot is high enough, I buy one ticket.
How high is the pot before you will buy a ticket. Is 10 million not high enough? I never understand people who buy when it reaches a certain amount. Half a billion dollars is crazy money.
Rav TuvParticipantWIY,
What sounds krum?
2 Points
1. “If the mezuza is the reason just cover or double cover your mezuza.
2. Some mezuzos ar on the outside of the door when door is closed. So mezuza isnt in the room while one is getting undressed.
Rav TuvParticipantIf the mezuza is the reason just cover or double cover your mezuza. and my mezuza is on the outside of the door when door is closed.
Rav TuvParticipantLitvaks call it Taysfus.
November 7, 2012 10:57 pm at 10:57 pm in reply to: The USA voted in 4 more years or increased moral decay #903226Rav TuvParticipantHealth,
Not a toayva Senator. Tammy Baldwin is female not a toayva.
Rav TuvParticipanttexting on Shabbos is d’rabbonon.
Rav TuvParticipant1000 years? from Yishmoel to mohammed is more like 2000 years.
Rav TuvParticipantRashi says the ayil was muchan from sheshes yemei breeishis. Perhaps Avraham knew this and that it would later be a zechus for klal Yisroel. It was HKB”H that planned the exalted status of the ayil. Why the ayil? gemara says the horn is kafuf, so our hearts should be kafuf.
