What is strange is that yidden are the only people to actually have a problem with being politically independent in their own land.

Why are you anti hot dogs? Were you bitten by a hot dog when you were little? Hot dogs are man’s best friend. Nothing wrong with hot dogs on Shabbos. Oneg is subjective.

Regarding your second question that Tnai is that something should HAPPEN and then this chalos will be chal but here the Tenai is if the HALACHA is this way then my KAVANA is to be Yotzay now.

Do not understand why you have challos by the seder. We only have matza.

This Mah is not “what” which would portend a 5th question. It is an exclamation of “How” as in “Mah Tov” & “Mah No’iem”.

This is the opinion of the Lail Shimurim haggada by Rav Yechiel Michel Halevi Epstein Author of Aruch Hashulchan.

It is said in amazement: Oh How this night is different from other nights!

I dont really think asking a kasha on a shverrer Rambam and suggesting lumdishe terutzim is considered pilpul. And Im sure there is halacha l’maaseh there unless the rabbi darshens about the korban Pesach.

What chometz is in tobacco. IIRC the reason people refrain from smoking is because of the chometz glue on the filter/paper. But I could be totally wrong.

    on the ball-

You must be joking. Start with Ramban, Rambam Rashi just to name 3. These rishonim had professions and learned. No rishon says everybody should sit in yeshiva whether they are REALLY learning or not. Maybe only an elite few the Rambam says could spend all their time learning. But certainly nothing like we are seeing now.

And you still didnt answer my question: 1 rishon that says everybody should be learning and not working.

There isnt a mitzvah to kill Amalek until Moshiach comes and tells us who is Amalek. Since Sancheriv mixed the nations we can’t possibly know who is Amalek.

Kiddushin can be done w/ shava perutah. But the celebration is for the nessuin aspect and sheva brachos. In the olden days there was a year between kiddushin and nessuin. Kiddushin is not marriage. It is really like a betrothal that assers her on everyone else.

How many times do people have to hear that nobiody can pasken halacha l’maysa from the CR. No matter how knowledgable a poster seems. Any question as to how to act and what to do should be asked to your LOR. Course that’s only if I’m not available.

There wasn’t a complete sefer torah until the end of the 40 years.

The 10 commandments include all 613 mitzvos.the 10 are major headings. like allthe mitzvos of yom tov and Shabbos are included in zachor. all arayos are included in lo tinaf, etc.

Off topic but boy would i love to give you a farherr to see how much your “Torah study lishmah” has made you a lamdan. It certainly hasn’t helped your middos. Instead of kabbala, learn a little Messilas Yesharim, Then you will at least realize you haven’t learned “many years of Torah study lishmah”

and be more sumpathetic to a fellow yid in pain.

RD –The Vilna Shas is a modern innovation, relatively speaking, just like the printing press, in the course of Jewish history.

And it was one developed by Christians, the Romm family.

THe Brothers and widow Romm who developed the Vilna Shas were indeed Jewish.

“Is there an inyan to davka refrain from taking vacation or going on holidays between December 25th and January 1st?

On this issue, see Igros Moshe Y.D. vol 3, simon 85 that one should not vacation during this time EVEN if he has no intention to celebrate in their holidays, but vacations merely because the parents are off work and want to take a family trip, since the innocent intentions do not vitiate the issur”

Pearl Harbor was all day on my mind yesterday, and indeed both 12/7 & 9/11 should be public holidays, to give Americans more time to reflect & mourn.

Would that be another excuse gor state and federal workers to get 2 extra paid days off courtesy of the American taxpayer? People for the most part don’t reflect on days like Memorial day and Independence Day. Just days to bbq and commercialize the days. Anyway my day to reflect and mourn is April 15.

Rashi says the ayil was muchan from sheshes yemei breeishis. Perhaps Avraham knew this and that it would later be a zechus for klal Yisroel. It was HKB”H that planned the exalted status of the ayil. Why the ayil? gemara says the horn is kafuf, so our hearts should be kafuf.
