February 6, 2018 4:45 pm at 4:45 pm in reply to: @Chabad Shluchah Please Explain Why Davening To/Betten a Rebbe is Okay #1463927chabadgalParticipantjust joined this discussion- but we DO NOT daven to the rebbe. anyone who says that is wrong. what we are doing is asking the rebbe to daven to hashem on our behalf.
To make this clearer- take moshe rabbeinu. would anyone consider him avodah zara? no. but he was the shliach between hashem and the yidden.December 31, 2017 7:48 am at 7:48 am in reply to: Keeping Mental Illness A Secret In Shidduchim๐ค ๐ค๐ค๐ฐ๐คต #1439674chabadgalParticipantIf there an issue with the girl/boy, or a genetic mental illness in the family, you need to tell. I think by the third date makes sense cuz thats when its kind of getting serious, but not serious enough.
December 26, 2017 8:59 pm at 8:59 pm in reply to: Explaining to girls that only boys light the Chanukah Menorah #1437095chabadgalParticipantGirls are not obligated to light, but there is absolutely no problem with girls lighting.
chabadgalParticipantThis is what I understood happened- Uncle koishy is restarting seperate from suki and ding, heโs using completely new songs and everything except for some really old ones cuz they own the rights to everything. Suki and ding got a new uncle moishy to replace him.
chabadgalParticipantPersonally I dont get cold unless its like really freezing weather… I havent even taken out my coat yet. So it also depends on you. But as of now you definitely dont need more than a coat.
chabadgalParticipantthe rebbe CAN be moshiach. Its not definite that he is, but then theres no reason that he isnt. Moshiach can be from the dead so thats not an issue.
chabadgalParticipantTheres nothing wrong with thanksgiving. Its an american holiday, like july 4. Many people I know celebrate thanksgiving.
November 28, 2017 7:41 pm at 7:41 pm in reply to: Where did all these Chabad warriors come from? #1414801chabadgalParticipantheyyyy IM BACKKKKK yay
sorry, our computer broke, and I was super busy with school, but now I have my laptop, so all good!
Seems like I missed A LOTchabadgalParticipantI didnt read all the comments, so i apologize if this was already said- but the reason we dont have a new rebbe after the rebbe isnt because he has no children. Its because there is no one to be rebbe. Most communities ‘elect’ their leader. But a rebbe cannot be elected. Its who he is.
November 28, 2017 7:41 pm at 7:41 pm in reply to: WaPo Article When Lubavitcher Rebbe Was Niftar #1414799chabadgalParticipantMoshiach can be the dead. Thats a known thing. And yes part of this article is exaggerated. But do you expect better from the media?
chabadgalParticipantRight, but everything that happened before 1750 wont be in the curriculum anymore. thats A LOT of stuff!

October 23, 2017 11:49 pm at 11:49 pm in reply to: I am superior to you because of the coffee I drink. #1388787chabadgalParticipantwhat if i dont drink wine or coffee at all? i may not be a supreme coffee drinker but at the same time im not a cheap coffee sellout
chabadgalParticipantas well as its closed off from the afternoon before making it impossible to get back to ch. we went out that day and were driving around for an hour till we got in.
October 20, 2017 5:21 pm at 5:21 pm in reply to: Are all these protests in Jerusalem really a kiddush hashem? #1387617chabadgalParticipantokay, so im too lazy to read all the comments, but ill say this:
they didnt join the army cuz they want to learn torah right?
but it sure doesnt look like theyre doing a lot of learning now….chabadgalParticipant770chabad yes im a CHer, and the difference between labor day parade and lag baomer parade is we dont get drunk and have stabbings and shootings etc.
chabadgalParticipantwarrior- I’m careful with tznius. What I;m saying is men don’t have the same challenges so they don’t know how it is. Also theres a difference between halacha and then adding ‘chumros’. Maybe I can understand if they say something about tznius, but my skirt DOES NOT need to be four inches below the knees and im 100% allowed to wear the color pink, or leggings as long as my legs are fully covered.
October 20, 2017 1:27 pm at 1:27 pm in reply to: People who share a computer and leave the keyboard set to Hebrew #1387561chabadgalParticipantugh i hate that. especially when im only looking at the keyboard not the screen so i end up typing and entire paragraph in hebrew and need to redo it.
chabadgalParticipant770chabad lol I agree I like imitation crocs way better than orioginal
chabadgalParticipantWarrior- super tight IS against halacha. But midcalf length is not required at all. There is a difference.
JJ2020-I never said dont follow halacha, I said dont add on all your chumros and force other people to follow them.
Also my school changed the skirt must be midcalf rule to it must be covering knees at all times and youu know what? Before people said were anyways not folowing the rules may as well be above knees. but now its a realistic length girls are actually following it.September 7, 2017 10:44 pm at 10:44 pm in reply to: Free Textbooks for Parochial Schools ๐๐ #1358701chabadgalParticipant770Chabad- trying to figure out what school you go to. Not the same as me. We have same student fee but no locker fee.
chabadgalParticipantThe issue is wearing leather not wearing comfortable. Personally I hate leather shoes 90% of my shoes are man made. But that doesn’t mean I have a different Halacha
chabadgalParticipantThat would just be weird
September 7, 2017 10:43 pm at 10:43 pm in reply to: URGENT Hurricane Irma: What happens if your window breaks? #1358696chabadgalParticipantyes, if the windows are not there the inside is the same vulnerable to everything as the outside
chabadgalParticipantI think the first focus should be on actual halacha, not setting hair length guidelines and skirts cant be more than one inch lower or higher then midcalf and shirt sleeves have to be bracelet length etc. Follow halacha thats all. And that includes as said before stuff other than dress.
Also- Why is it often men pointing out the tznius issue? I don’t think it is right for a man to stare at a women to find out what shes lacking in tznius…September 6, 2017 6:56 am at 6:56 am in reply to: Free Textbooks for Parochial Schools ๐๐ #1356270chabadgalParticipantyeah which until last year they would return to us at the end of the year
chabadgalParticipantMy brothers start about three or four days before us. not that much..
September 5, 2017 8:58 pm at 8:58 pm in reply to: Free Textbooks for Parochial Schools ๐๐ #1356062chabadgalParticipant*I’m pretty sure at least
September 5, 2017 8:58 pm at 8:58 pm in reply to: Free Textbooks for Parochial Schools ๐๐ #1356060chabadgalParticipantMy school has government loaned books
September 5, 2017 8:58 pm at 8:58 pm in reply to: Is It Just Me, Or Are Frum Homes Becoming ‘Colder’ And More Like Offices? #1356058chabadgalParticipantI feel more at home in a more ‘modern’ design house. It doesnt feel cold at all. But when a house hasent been touched in 50 years I feel out of place and UGH too much clutter makes me claustrophobic (note: not too much mess. too much stuff even if its organized.)
chabadgalParticipantit definitely is
September 5, 2017 8:58 pm at 8:58 pm in reply to: Ok…About The Whole Hair Measuring Thing…Please Help Me Understand ๐ง๐โ๏ธ #1356054chabadgalParticipantOK
so we all agree that this won’t make the child go OTD
BUT it is extremely embarassing to be send home in middle of seder (reply to earlier comment)
and you know what, embarassing someone (publicly) is considered murdering them.
hmmmmchabadgalParticipantLU- dull knives can be more dangerous
September 5, 2017 9:02 am at 9:02 am in reply to: Ok…About The Whole Hair Measuring Thing…Please Help Me Understand ๐ง๐โ๏ธ #1354685chabadgalParticipant1. Who said its across the world
2. The article said that there IS NOT an issue with long hair as long as its worn appropriately
3. measuring skirts is just as bad in my opinion… just look if its tznius thats all no ruler. But also hair is more permenant, a skirt can be changed when you get home.
4. Where else should they go?
5. They actua;;y stopped measuring it after it went viral
6. People did
7. Might not cause OTD but will definitely cause frustration at being forced to keep above and beyond the actual halachachabadgalParticipantI think the main issue by us is we have about 15 teachers. So each teacher doesnt give morethan twenty minutes a day max but this adds up and thats besides for all our tests and quizzes
chabadgalParticipantCTL- the thing you may be forgetting is the Board of Education is based on public schools. Who finish ar 2:00. So they have time for homework. I come home from -high school- after 5, and thats without staying late to help for programs. I am unable to do hours of homework a night. I spend my whole day in school my nights should be free.
I am in school five days a week, eight hours a day, If we cant be tought everything during that time then theres an issue with the teachers. We should spent our time at home finishing up class time.September 5, 2017 8:58 am at 8:58 am in reply to: Ok…About The Whole Hair Measuring Thing…Please Help Me Understand ๐ง๐โ๏ธ #1354688chabadgalParticipantMy opinion on this whole thing-
K, so at first I was really mad when I saw the video. RIght? Along with everyone else
But now I think it may have been a mother measuring her own daughters hair and the school didnt force measuring (I hope I’m right)
But the school still has a dress code which says hair cant be more than four inches past the shoulder. Which I think is completely unfair. Its an added chumrah based on nothing. And it’s not something that you can just do for school. Like my school we need to wear our hair up. But I can take it out as soon as I get home. So it doesnt bother me as much. cutting hair is much more permenant.
I probably forgot to sayhalf the stuff on my mind and what I did write was a big mush but hopefully you get the idea ๐chabadgalParticipantNeville you have no clue what your talking about. Chabad doesnt hate anyone. Thats the basis of chabad to love every jew equally
chabadgalParticipantno because
-wasnt used for treif
-wasnt made by non jewchabadgalParticipantso im a girl (duh) but my brother never showers after mikvah.
gadol hador- he goes to mikvah every day so showers every day basicallychabadgalParticipantyes, but when any new thing comes out, it needs to be learned how to use properly.
chabadgalParticipantignore my previous comment, didnt realize the whole story and that it was in middle of the hurricane
chabadgalParticipantjakob- chabad doesnt do kiruv, we do shlichus. kiruv means bringing close whats far and we dont believe that any jew is far.
chabadgalParticipantDY- dangers also exist with knives and cars. we need education how to use phones not a ban.
chabadgalParticipantThere is nothign wrong with that. They didnt force anyone to buy it. You wouldnt complain if they were selling cases for $5 so why are you complaining if it is $42. I see this very often on amazon the same item in blue is $8 and in yellow will be $57. It doesnt make sense but that doesnt mean its wrong.
chabadgalParticipantBB- was waiting for someone to say that.
chabadgalParticipantits called clickbait
chabadgalParticipantIf the baby needs to eat, he needs to eat. Obviously its better if the mom uses a nursing cover but sometimes its not possible. Taking care of children superceeds many other mitzvos. For example if your davening shemoneh esrei and a baby is crying and no one else is there you are allowed to go get the baby.
chabadgalParticipantI always take pictures of everything because, as I said before, I have aphantasia, and if I don’t take a pic, I’ll have only a vague sort of memory of it. Not a real one. The photos are my memory.
