i hope every one had a good rosh hashana. now comes the scary day , yom kippur. the reason i fear that day is because hashem makes his final decision on that day and its scary. a few years ago i never even thought about it just that hopefully HE will give me a good year with enough parnassa, and help me with my special needs children but then when i got hit with my cancer oh boy was that a different story. now i dont take anything for granted and try my hardest to do the right things but at times its hard and when people say nasty things ( i know they dont mean it ) its very hard to keep quiet and not retort something in return. just recently someone pretty important told me that i should try to work on my memory (that what got affected by the cancer-one of the many things that did) and slowly my memory will come back. i was very hurt and tried to explain that i first of all am not interested in getting a heart attack or nervous breakdown in trying to work my brain- what a load of hogwash i mean really i dont have the right side of my brain the surgeon removed all of it ITS HOLLOW DONT PEOPLE UNDERSTAND!!!!! so instead of stressing myself and getting sick i called my social worker from the dept of health and asked him to explain that that would be immpossible. i just dont understand why people are so so so mean and “Helpful”

what is the difference which hospital you go to as look as they do the job and get rid of the cancer. i went to nyu cause i had cancer in the brain and the leading neurosurgeon was dr kelly who was a malach and was unbelievable. but the main thing is we know that hashem is the one in charge and HE is the one who takes care of us!!!! i want to wish everyone a gut gebenched yur and may we only hear good tidings and please this year we should be zoche to beyas goel bmehara!!!!!

yea i know what you mean cause 2 nitghtes ago my son was great and then last night like at 4am he was so low that i almost had to call hatzalah but i his dr lives 3 blocks away so i called him, he came over and told my son to eat a few winkies and in a few minutes boruch hashem his numbers went up but i dont get why that happens so his dr said it could be from stress or maybe something he ate during the day, GO FIGURE!!!

i am a mother of a 17 year old boy who has diabetes plus 2 autistic children and a few years ago had a brain tumor but i wanna understand and maybe someone can enlighten me why is the world so hung up on people that have diabetes? i mean its just another issue and believe me i know lots of people that have it and they lead very normal lives. i am not in the parsha of shidduchim yet but my gosh why is it such a big deal? its not a debilitating disease and i know a few girls that have quite a few children and all is well so why in heavens name is everyone so scared? i would love to get up and speak to the klal and tell them to keep cool and its not a big deal but then again maybe i think lots of people in this world are not in touch with reality and have rose colored glasses on and think they are perfect!!!

wow mod 72 that is low but not so low. my son once went down to 22 and boy was i scared, we called his ped who btw is great dr bulmash and he came running over and told my son to eat some winkies (they are great and in a few minutes his sugar climbed up. for member bosd i really feel bad and i hope you find your bashert soon. i know 2 girls who are in their 30’s and just got engaged. i never thought it would happen and yes it is so possible to be fet up and disgusted with this whole parsha

maybe you can ask him how he feels about diabetes, dont say you have it and see his reaction and then ask him how he would feel if his wife would have it. lots of times most people are ignorant and dont know too much. just as a side point i know a few married people that have it , one person just had her 7 child and they are all fine and another person has 3 adorable kids with no problems so you can have a normal life and healthy kids too!!!

i myself am not a diabetic but my son is so i am a little knowlegable in this area. he got it when he was 9 and now he is 17. i also have 2 children with autism and recently had a brain tumor but boruch hashem have survived it all and doing better. i agree with cofeefan and people that are not doctors or health providers should really not give advice on how to manage anything. i am sorry to hear rebetzin that you went so low, i dont think that is good. the lowest my sn ever went was 40 and right away he felt it cause he woke me up in the middle of the night with night sweats and shaking and boruch hashem i knew what to do. i insist that he check himself before going to sleep. on the subject of cakes and nosh yes i know its hard to keep to your diet esp. when everyone else can eat whatever they want, all i can say is try and hashem should give you extra strength,a dn i know that everyone is gonna yell but i tell my son to reward himself for doing a good job like buying an interesting computer game or a disk for his gameboy. some people will say that bribery but i spoke to r’ weissmandel and he said no its called positive reinforcement so its okay.

you see we dont understand hashem’s ways. i dont know if anyone read yesterday’s news, but on yeshiva world it said that had the bomber been successful times square would have been destroyed and lots of people would have died. it said that the fbi did tests to prove this. so we see that even amidts terrible times hashem is with us and watches over us. “HE NEVER SLEEPS OR SLUMBERS” its hard to understand why terrible things happen to good people all we have to say is its for the best and hope and daven that moshiach will be here VERY SOON!!!!

we dont understand why hashem gives us tests, some people have sick children, some have sick parents, some habe special needs children or relatives and some have all the above. all i can say is hashem has his reasons and we have to accept it. i once asked the noveminsker rav why i had so many yisurim and he told me the more yisurim a person has the more hashem loves them. yes i have 2 special needs children a son with diabetes and 5 years ago had brain cancer. im not saying it wasnt hard ohmy it was but a person needs to look at thegood and thank hashem for that.

that is very interesting that protein raises the bg. you eat n. i know for sure that is the case with vegetables. also to the rebetzin i am almost sure the boy your going out with knows. if he did his hw and asked people and you dont hide it like its a terrible crime than people have let him know. its fine and the chance that your kids will get it is 50 50 but you should really talk to a dr. sometimes people get it because hashem wanted it to be so and it has nothing to do with genetics. i personally know two people with diabetes , one just had their 6th child and the other her second and they are fine!!!!

r u serious that your doctor said that you are not motivated regarding the pump!!!! sorry tralala find another dr. i have never heard of such nonsense and quite frankly where did this dr get her degree. what nerve it has nothing to do with your will. golly being on the pump is healthier, better, more effecient ( i could go on for about 3 paragraphs ). a pump is crucial for our health and no dr should ever say such silly things. please i beg you change dr and talk to rabbi meisels. i wish i could leavemy name and number so you can call me but they dont allow it on yeshiva world.

well member health i truly hope that chance listens to you although i highly doubt it. it seems to me that you chance dont want to listen to the other side of pros of vaccines just like you claim we are not interested in listening to you. so we are at a standstill but the truth is this forum is supposed to discuss ideas on how to help our children who already have the diabetes or autism not on how to worry about the vaccines.

ok enough this blog is supposed to be about how we can deal with diabetes and if people have abny advice on dealing with these issues. not about the contraversiol topic of vaccines. the truth is member chance i personally dont care what you do and i hope your children are well and that your friends and relatives do their homework before following what seems to be right.yw moderator 72 maybe you should explain to everyone what this blog is really about. like for example i have a 16 year old son and now that its almost pesach does anyone know which wine has the least sugar and not alot of alcohol. also is it okay for him to eat regular matzoh or must it be shmurah?

yeah mr or mrs chance you never did explain how people got diabetes before there were vaccines???? people in europe had diabetes and they did not get vaccinated. and you should be careful about pharm. companies. i dont think dr. give shots because they get paid i’m really sorry but that is ludacrious. good drs. dont care for our children because they get money sorry but that sounds very selfish and not true. maybe you had a bad experience with doctors and you feel that they are not being totally devoted and dedicated to your kids. its unfair to say that bec. of shots you get sick and i keep on asking you to be careful but you insist that you are right. the truth is everyone is entitled to their opinion and if you dont want to vaccinate your children you have every right but please dont say that bec of shots people get sick!!!!!!

i’m truly sorry chance but no i did not vaccinate my son and he is autistic anyway. yes its true on a much lesser degree of autism than my daughter but autistic regardless. and yes i am in touch with all types of dr. and the pros of vaccinating your children outway the cons. not every child becomes autistic or diabetic and most children don’t. and NO MY CHILDREN NEVER HAD OR HAVE STOMACH PROBLEMS. not every child with autism has stomach problems although it does happen often. i really think that you chance should be careful of what you say because lots of people might get angry at you and alot of people are ignorant and will not do the right thing and might argue with their dr. without too much knowledge. so please be careful!!!!! and health you are extremely correct. most children become sick bec. its due to genetics and that is scientifaclly proven.

these things you say mr. or mrs. chance are very interesting but i wondor why no one ver told me that vaccines cause problems. i spoke to every professional in the field be it doctors or homeopathic people and they never said that veccines cause these problems. does that mean we should never vaccinate our kids. sorry but this doesn’t make sense!!!!! and by the way i went to dr bigger and better than the dr you mentioned in manhatten and they said in no way possible are the vaccines responsible for autism or diabetes. my daughter got all the vaccines on time and true she became autistic but my son i did not give him any shots until he turned 3 but by the time he was 9 months he was autistic. i know that does not prove anything but i just wonder. and the person that you know who is reversing autism sorry but autism is not a sickness like strep ar bronchites where you take medicine and become well its a disorder in the brain not in the gut like chance says and there is no cure, that is a fact believe me i wish there was!!!!!!!

wow to chance: i really think you should be careful with what you say because you have made alot of people upset.first of all if you think i have not done research and spoken to big doctors who know more than just websites well sorry to dissapoint you i have gone and taken my children all three of them to the top, i’m talking about to california, florida nad even john hopkins. please let me tell you it is proven through science and empirically that autism and diabetes is not gotten through vaccines and that court case which you mentioned i am in the court room when it is being presented and the people that did the research lied to get results they wanted. have of the info is not true and the experiments are faulty. second of all i would have to agree with the rebbitzen and simchaallthetime, what happened to hashem? do you mean to tell me that HE is not included or even better the one that gave it to us? and to deny our children the vaccines because some meshugana decided that its because of them we got these diseases. sorry but thse type of words are trully harmful and i really hope no teenager reads this blog for fear that they will harbor bad thoughts against hashem. please i beg you be careful of what you say, you sound like an intelligent person and i wouldn’t want you to get into trouble.

i am a mother of a son with diabetes who got it at age 9 and now he is 16 1/2 but i make shidduchim and its really not an issue. i know quite a few boys, excellent boys who got top rate girls regardless of their diabetes. the problem is like jphone said ther is so much ignorance about diabetes that people assume the worst and think all sorts of things which is not true. maybe if people got educated like articles in the yated and hamodea and dr should give speeches in shul regarding this subject it might help. for example maybe for 10 min before mincha a dr who really knows the facts can get up by the bima and explain what diabetes is and people can then ask questions about their doubts. its just a suggestion.

sorry but i agree with the rebbitzen. if a person keeps something a secret in general then he/she feels guilty and thinks that its their fault this happened and does not even have any bitachon that hashem will help out . it says “imo anochi batzara” that hashem is with a person all the time especially when facing a tzarah but if you keep it a secret then you dont take HIM in to account. is it your fault that hashem gave you diabetes? no of course not remember HE is in charge and everything comes from HIM so…. why keep it a secret its like your embarressed that hashem decided that you have to have this test. i understand that you dont have to shout it from the rooftops ut its okay to let people know. i make shidduchim and its okay .

jphone is right there are no legitimate studies shown by scientists that diabetes is heredity. if you do have it the main thing is to check your blood sugars all the time to make sure your sugar is balanced and to take the insulin whether it be novolog or humalog, and it doesnt matter which way by needle or pump although there have scientific research that the pump is much better and can really control the sugar.
