What about those (like myself) who are mechallel Shabbos despite not wanting to do so. Are we off the derech?
If you consider leining-talkers OTD, then yes, you are OTD.
MindOverChatterParticipant“Executions are not something to joke or sing about.”
I think this is the point the OP is trying to make.
MindOverChatterParticipantonegoal: wanderingchana
HaLeivi: myfriend?
How about this one: BLOCKED – TROLL

But I’d like to know something, mods. How much of Popa and Joseph does he have? (We ALL have something, so don’t be upset, AYC).
MindOverChatterParticipantWB Real Brisker. Or is it Daas Yochid?
MindOverChatterParticipantOf course! Your the guy who sold me his mind on ebay.
MindOverChatterParticipantMazel Tove, Baal Habooze! When you’ll see them in their freshly cut hair and a yarmulka and wide grins, you won’t miss their hair too much! ?

Now, now, ayc. You can come out of hiding. Nobody can see you blushing in here.
MindOverChatterParticipantobservanteen: my opinion. see 1st post
mustangrider: thanks. I love that!
MindOverChatterParticipantthere’s a difference between failing and being a failure. a successful person may fail once in a while, a failure fails more often than not. which one suits you better IYO? I already gave mine.
MindOverChatterParticipantobserve, it’s the thing u did that failed. y r u calling yourself the failure?
MindOverChatterParticipantFeif Un: How inspiring! Thank you for sharing.
MindOverChatterParticipantKapusta: +1. Couldn’t agree more.
Goq: All I can say is that I really feel for you. Do you think writing a letter will be of any help? Either way, I hope you have a wonderful Yom Tov.
Hatzlacha rabba.

MindOverChatterParticipantSam2: You’re right. But I still think popa’s behavior is far from nice. (Why, some of us will forever think lavan’s wife was called Yavala!)
MindOverChatterParticipantI think popa indeed didn’t take his pill today.
Now, sonny, you listen to what I have to say!
A- It’s not Purim today (although it’s erev yom HAkipurim)
B- You made me think I was an am haaretz
C- If anybody didn’t read your last post, you were oiver on ???? ??? ???? on erev Yom Kippur.
D- Don’t you ever do this again!
E- Don’t you EVER EVER forget to take your pill again!
F- POTCH!!
Now, straight into bed, sonny! You have to get up early tomorrow!
October 3, 2011 2:16 am at 2:16 am in reply to: source for not buying stuff for a baby before its born needed #813843MindOverChatterParticipantI’ve also heard stories abt people getting false alarms from ultrasound, but my take is rather have it this way than the other way around c”v!we found out about a serious condition in the pregnancy that required an immedetiate procedure done – only through the 20 week sonnogram.if not for the scans, we would have no idea how highly likely we were to have a baby with severe mental and/or physical disabilities. b”h we caught it on time, had the procedure done asap (on Shabbos!)and had a beautiful healthy baby. the condition was all gone by the time she arrived, thanks to the proffessional intervention in the middle of the pregnancy.
MindOverChatterParticipantMazal tov! i just got engaged to your teacher’s cousin!
MindOverChatterParticipantOf course we don’t love them before really getting to know to know them, but we ask from people who do know them to see if it’s probable that we’ll love them.
MindOverChatterParticipantfeif un – They believe that love does not come beforehand, it only comes after a marriage, when the couple spends years together
Any sources to prove this info? we got engaged through the traditional chassidic method and it definitely didn’t take us years to cultivate a beautiful loving marriage b”h. all the hard work my parents put into finding out if my future wife was indeed compatible with my personality, views and dreams were not for naught.
of coarse chassidishe are in for surprises after marriage, but so is everyone, including the secular world! and with divorce being the very last option, we give our marriages a chance to stick it out when the going gets rough. there are many instances in our circles where couples matured and grew after clashes that would be very likely to lead to divorce in other crowds.(divorce is not a total no-no when situation gets really bad, though. workaholic’s divorced sibling proves that.)
Shlomo Hamelech wisely said in Mishlei ?? ?? ????? ???? ???? – love blocks all sins. when choosing a partner to share life with, we do not need love to blind us.the parents, thinking without the natural opposite gender attraction getting in the way, choose someone their child is likely to love and eventually come to look at with “eyes half closed”. the child then goes ahead and sees if initial attraction is present, and if so they have as many good chances to have a beautiful life together as anyone, with syatte dishmaye.

MindOverChatterParticipantRefuah sheleima, Yehuda Tzvi. I daven for you everyday. Hope you feel better soon.
MindOverChatterParticipantso it seems like chicagoians have some NY in them too
Or some of popa – er Mr.80.
MindOverChatterParticipantmmmmmm…Was that a sneer, or a happy giggle?
MindOverChatterParticipanthee hee, Pops. Gotcha. Are you one of the friends who call him 80? Or is 80 calling you 80 in return? Either way, Mazel Tov on your new subtitle! We, at YWN humbly crown you as our dear friend (ok, we also call you that) Mr. 80. Congratulations, use it well, and may you be zoche to live until 180.
MindOverChatterParticipantMP: You, for one, is a great guy in here;)
I think Hashem created women in such a way that they have a need to be approved by others. Men, however, are more outspoken. I sure hope that the girls AND guys in here are wonderful people IRL.
MindOverChatterParticipantNo prob, Yossi?
MindOverChatterParticipantKenya
MindOverChatterParticipantYossi: I truly respect you for the nice guy that you are. Your future kallah is very, very lucky. May Hashem help you find her soon. Hatzlacha rabba, and please keep this wonderful thread going!
MindOverChatterParticipantHmmm. I fail to see why I am making you sick. I guess I should apologize. So, I’m sorry.
Maybe I didn’t understand it correctly, but I thought that by saying, “it’s your loss!” he meant that you’re losing out on the idea.
In any case, I’m in no mood for arguing now. IMHO, NK is not doing the right thing by joining the Arabs, and you’re not doing the right thing by name calling.
Good night and good shabbos.
MindOverChatterParticipant“Get out of here you rasha!”
Why the name calling? I understand you disagree, and rightfully so. But is there a reason to call him “rasha”?
IMHO, the NK consists mainly of naive innocent men who truly believe they’re doing the right thing. They feel that by joining arab rallies etc. they’re saving many Jewish lives.
Whether or not that’s true? Look, I never made a poll and asked the arabs if their veiw on Jews has changed or if the NK prevented them from killing Jews. I believe not, but I have no sources.
Also, I don’t think anyone of us has the right to say they’re not part of klal Yisroel. Did any rav say that?
lemony snicket: Rav Kook is pretty controversial. Satmar doesn’t hold of him either, to put it mildly.

September 9, 2011 6:20 pm at 6:20 pm in reply to: For Princesseagle and anone who thinks "the grass is greener" out there #808815MindOverChatterParticipantEmuna, how old were you when you became a BT? If you were so young that you went thru our school system, how did you come to teshuva? Sounds like you have a fascinating story to share.
MindOverChatterParticipant“if your Rav says the phone is assur, would you stop using it?”
If a rav assurs something for no reason, then I’d probably try to find out what it is about it that’s assur and ask some more poskim.
But why are we discussing this? Did a rav EVER give out such a p’sak? No rav ever did such a reckless thing, and you know it. So stop pretending the Internet is as neutral as the phone.
