Yes, the respond we responded to has mysteriously disappeared…which makes our response seem a bit harsh for no reason…

in reply to: Life on Other Worlds? #787237

The Torah does not begin with an Aleph, I heard it is a small clue that there wasare different worlds besides this one…not sure if the worlds are physical or spiritual….

    “What are their needs….”

Come on now, the list is to big to imagine. For one how can you expect the father to rush back to work . His place is with his wife and daughters. If you want to give great, but I think asking what their needs are is very insensitive… You should be thankful that an opportunity to perform such a great mitzvah is at your feet….

“Most of us want to see the suspect, who has confessed, erased from the ranks of those with whom we share the world of the living. “

    I second that.

camp is fun, even for the staff…trust me on this…I would gladly pay to go again…

If your looking to make money, the worst place to go is a camp…

“Actually the modern are the exception. They, b’shitta, don’t have to listen to the words of their leaders. Much like the non-Orthodox”

Pac-Man…Have your learnt nothing from this past week? Why do you consistently feel the need to cause divisions among Jews? We should be focused on building bridges not burning them…

in reply to: Is Levi Aron crazy #786543

What about needing to have teshuva accepted by the parents/family since the crime robbed them of their child. This component of teshuva would probably never be attained.

I’m sure he will be punished beyond the scope of any our imagination and deservedly so..he is a hanious monster and there is nothing redeemable about him. His savage act goes beyond human itelect.

The heavenly court will see to his punishment and I hope it is the most severe yid or not…

Because wearing a hat may block the person behind you view of the screen…

in reply to: Is Levi Aron crazy #786517

With the cruelty this monster has done, I can’t believe it came from a Jewish neshamas…the teshuva that is required to atone for what he has done is probably not attainable by the evil doer. We are not talking about eating treif or talking back to your parents. What he has done has probably severed his neshamas from kal yisroel forever… I would be curious to know what a Rav would say about the possibility of teshuva, I will ask the next time I have a chance to speak with my Rav…Further more he would be required to get teshuva accepted by leiby’s parents as well as from HAshem since his crime was against both. Something I doubt is possible.

in reply to: Is Levi Aron crazy #786512

The mentally I’ll have lofty neshamas. The Chason Ish would stand when they entered a room. the monster was just that, a monster…Tv, movies, and music is not at fault. This evil was done by a sick person. May his name be wiped out forever.

in reply to: Is Levi Aron crazy #786504

There is more to the story. I don’t believe much of the monsters confession…he has yet to say what fully happened, we will probably never know for sure…let’s take this tragedy to build up kal yisroel instead of using our differences as a wedge. It’s time that MO, yeshivish, chasidish, sephardic, come together and support one another… What else are we supposed to take from this??

in reply to: Deeply troubled by horrific events, Our response #787500

thank you…, please inform me if and when the tutoring is set up.

in reply to: Jury Duty #777761

The Mods are very bias here…why else would they allow Pacman to say…

“charlie: Did you ask this shaila to the Rabbi (Avi Weiss) where you pray?”

we all know where Pacman was going with this…it was meant as a passive aggressive personal attack.

If this is the way Yeshiva World News wants to operate, then I don’t want to be here anymore!

Good shabbos and bye to those I enjoyed talking, debating and communicating with!

in reply to: Jury Duty #777753

Pacman… Nice trying to change what you said, but you advocated not telling the truth…for some reason you feel it is fine to be a frum Jew and lie to a judge…

Read what you said…”announce you saw” basically tell the judge you saw the defendant commit the aledged crime

in reply to: Jury Duty #777750

Packman…a Jew should lie to a judge? Doesn’t sound very frum to me

My point is just as her examples shows people with badges on their shoulders, my examples shows that people have them on their front pockets as well…

sorry if my post was a bit harsh…but to call this a Tznius issue is a bit much…

in reply to: Why don't struggling families move out of NY? #777801

“Because the New York City metropolitan area has better jobs, more jobs, and higher paying jobs than any other frum place in the United States.”

as well as higher cost of living, which offsets the higher salaries…

in reply to: Yet another tznius issue (but probably not a crisis) #778256

what about on their shoes…seriously this is a joke right?

Vote for a women, why not

in reply to: Tznius Crisis in Cars #777505

Mdd…I dont see a joke anywhere in my post.

Pacman…As for being responsible for others there is a proper way to go about it. Criticizing is not the way. Maybe you should follow the example of Kiruv rabbis. They have a non confrontational judgmental approach. They get people to change and it’s not because they shame and tell people how wrong they are.

People would be more receptive with this approach.

The tznius crisis can be worked on through education, not telling women how wrong they are. You may actually drive women further away.

Work with people to get them to change telling them how wrong they are won’t work.

in reply to: Tznius Crisis in Cars #777502

pacman/Joseph/??….not sure your approach works either.

How about everyone take care of themselves, once you have totally perfected yourself, masterd the torah, then and only then can you comment on others? but before you do you must first get the permission From no less than 300 rabbis…

in reply to: Business travel #776549

How about something from the Kosher Subway 🙂 You know the one that sells Pareve cheese on top of their meat subs!

in reply to: Tznius Crisis in Cars #777491

Someone needs to start a thread…”crisis of men looking at women getting in and out of cars”. :)….just joking….or am I

in reply to: Business travel #776500

zahavasdad….I have been told the same thing regarding Salmon, I too was surprised by the answer I got.

in reply to: Business travel #776484

Not specifically, just curious how others deal with life on the road as Jew….

in reply to: Tznius Crisis in Cars #777482

Shlishi, I’m not totally disagreeing with you. The problem arises when getting in and out of the car. Thus I suggest men do their part and not look…if the skirt is below the knee, I don’t believe it’s the women’s fault if it rises up.

To me the bigger issue would be with skirts well above the knee, if that was common place I would agree with the term crisis…this just doesn’t seem to be one from my point if view…

in reply to: Tznius Crisis in Cars #777480

Shlishi… Your post makes it seem like the women are not dressing tznius. This is not the case, they are. The issue appears to be with men looking where they shouldnt, It’s not like these women are walking around in shorts and tank tops. They are dressing accordingly and that in itself has to be commended. I have no idea how hard it is to dress in such a manner for obvious reasons, but I do admire them…it certainly is not easy.

These women are doing their part to dress appropriately, I suggest the men do their part and “guard you eyes”….

If you have such a strong issue with it, maybe you need to find a community that is better suited for you…I’m not trying to be smart but when I bought my house a lot of time was spent finding the right community that would work for my family.

If this is such a crisis then this seems to be the “norm” for this neighborhood….

in reply to: Starting school at 33 #776192

Brave not crazy. Go for it

in reply to: Tznius Crisis in Cars #777470

I don’t understand why so many men are spending time looking at women getting in and out of cars…I have no idea if this is an issue since I don’t look. In order to look that means you are staring where you shouldn’t. Instead of suggesting this is a tznius issue, I think those with a problem with it need to look internally…

in reply to: Tznius Crisis in Cars #777457

“mike: Why don’t you further denigrate the Torah by calling those who uphold the Mitzvah in the Torah of Tznius as being “Taliban”, “Mullahs”, and “Ayatollahs”. The same people who equate tznius to “burquas”, do the same.”

Commending women for doing their best to dress tznius and on occasion when the dress does inch up, telling men not to stare is in no way denigrate the Torah. Please re read my earlier post
