lots of the women are also involved in chesed projects.

some are doing needlepoints, going for power walks to keep their bodies trim and ehalthy.

going food shopping is much more work than in the city.

this is something that has been going on forever…instead of wondering what the wives are doing all week, ask your moms what they did all week

    GOTCHA!!!!!!!!!

i really have to say that people here that act like they are high and mighty or holy are the worst there is. if someone watches tv and watches the olympics that doesnt make them a bad person. people do waht they are comfortable with and can still be a wonderful person. we are not all on the same levels of religiousity here. matter of fact some of us may watch tv and the olympics yet not do some things that others do…such as berating watching the people who watch the olympics. i always feel that ”ben adam lechavero” is very important , yet i see many people here who do not hold by that.

id rahter know people who watch the olympics and are good to their fellow man then someone who doesnt watch it but is nasty.

Carpool PlanCarpooling is both eco-conscious and the most economical way to travel.

The Port Authority Carpool Plan provides the largest toll discount at the Port Authority bridges and tunnels. By carpooling, you save the most money and reduce the number of vehicles on the road.

The toll for Port Authority Carpool customers is $3.50 per vehicle at all hours.

You must have an E-ZPass account and you must register for the Port Authority Carpool Discount Plan.

To register for the Carpool Plan, call 800-333-8655 (New York Service Center) or 888-288-6865 (New Jersey Service Center). Be sure to have your account number or tag number and PIN for account access.

Three or more people must be in a vehicle to be eligible for the discount (no commercial vehicles qualify).

Customers must use a staffed “Cash-E-ZPass” toll lane and come to a complete stop so the toll collector can verify the number of occupants in the vehicle.

geeez, cant people either watch the program OR read the entire articles in the newspapers? you cant always get a full story here or at vin.

you only get the discount if

-you have already called ez pass and joined the carpool program

-you go to a lane marked cash/ezpass

-you have 3 or more people in your car

    – you tell lthe attendant you are a carpool member

    – you are going thru a toll from a participating bridge/tunnel

not all bridges and tunnels are part of the program

choppy, for the record, my family and i attend an orthodox shule with a very bright and knowledgeable Rabbi. He DID speak about the 11 people who were MURDERED simply because they were JEWISH.

I doubt that he has a TV but he does keep up with the news in the world around him and I would think he read about the Kiddush Hashem from this young lady who we should all be proud of. Now, as I stated previosuly, if you dont have a tv or choose not to watch the olympics that is your business but it is disrespectful and discurteous to try and trash and minimize her accomplishments and the honor she gave to her fellow Jews.

we are following it in my home and are very proud of Aly Raisman. We have watched the various competitions and they did not give us any sinful thoughts.

If someone doesn’t like it, that’s their business but it is not ttreif. and as taka said…. if you think its treif then so is the internet. why are you here?

taking a childs shoes is unacceptable. plain and simple. no excuse, no long story.

had this been done in a public school setting it would be on the 6 o’clock news and the teacher would be under investigation.

parents should stand up for their kids with regard to things like this. i can tell you for a fact that no teacher did stuff like this to my children. my husband once hard that a rebbe had a tendency to hit children if they misbehaved even in the slightest. my husband made it known that if anyone laid a hand on his child he would come to the school with the police and have the teacher arrested. originally he wanted to beat the teacher up, but i told him then he would end up in jail as well.

mazal, if you note my original post it states to call ez pass and sign up. that is the first step.

mammele, most places do not sign people up for discounts. the person needs to go after it themselves in order to get it. just like using coupons or aarp discounts, it is up to you to get them and use them.

ICOT-as I said multiple times. I ONLY do this when there are 3 people in the car. Why is this sheker, geneva or chilul Hashem?

whiteberry, nothing i wrote is beating the system. when i go to that lane there are 3 people in my vehicle. i am following their guidelines. everyone who can, should try to do it. if you go to and from the country for 10 weeks you can save 85 dollars from this alone. nice few dollars to use toward the cost of gas.

those who have family in jersey or monsey can do this year-round

many accidents happen at home. a woman i know was standing on a small step ladder to change a bulb and fell backward. she broke her knee in multiple places. couldnt walk for almost a year.

anytime that there is water involved one should be extra careful. it does become very slippery when one showers and extra care should be taken to thoroughly wipe the soles of the feet.
