“i dont understand how people consider guys who smoke not otd?”

Hey, I just discovered there’s a thread about that:

    Sparkly,

So why do you keep asking halacha questions? Why don’t you just answer you own questions?

    Joseph,

As long as he feels it’s reasonable to take o pull out. The people can’t get by while he’s pulling out anyway. He’s holding them up, not you.

“First, it makes them all think I’m like their boss.

Second, some of them go and negotiate more money, and that changes the baseline for how the company thinks of compensation, and then I ask for more.”

Third, word eventually gets back to the actual boss that you lied about your compensation in order to change the baseline, and you get fired.

It’s like the circle of life.

“ubiq, often the guy pulling out doesn’t hustle and takes his pretty time (and four cars are honking for you to move.)”

The people behind can wait. That’s part of living in a place with such roads.

I’ve learned that you can’t judge whether what you’re doing is right or wrong based on whether or not people are honking their horns at you.

I hope you’re not a rasha, because if so you would be doing the wrong thing by being Dan yourself L’kaf Z’chus..

Though if you are a rasha, you pobably don’t care about doing the wrong thing.

“You need to be careful. I had a friend who recently mentioned to her coworker how she felt underpaid, and her coworker managed to extract all the details about her salary than receded to go to her boss demanding that she get paid like my friend….”

A boss should know how to deal with situations like that. If an employee feels he/she deserves a raise, he/she should have a more legitimate reason than “he gets paid more than me.” An employer has no obligation to pay all of his employees equally, even if they have similar qualifications.

“i dont want to be a pharmacist because its taking me ages”

This reminds me of a guy who wants to adopt a kid, so he calls up an adoption agency, and they tell him the waiting list is around two years. He responds, “Forget it. I don’t even know if I’ll want a kid in two years.”

This morning, 6:30 and 57 seconds was the ideal time to start sh’mona esrei. It changes every day.

(Btw, the time I gave is for Brooklyn because apparently that’s the center of the universe. It would vary for other places in the universe)

I know who mickey mouse is, he’s the mouse that used to live in our kitchen. The kids called him mickey. We had to send him away to a place where there was more cheese to eat and more room for him to run around.

But how do you know him?

I’m sorry you’re in pain, but your post sounds incredibly haughty and insensitive.

Just some quotes from your post to support my statement:

“the entire tragedy the occurred R”L could have been avoided if the brother who it occurred to would have listened to his rav & just done teshuva” (Maybe you should have listened to your Rav and done Teshuva)

“May you one day reach this high level” (I shouldn’t have to explain what’s wrong with this)

“To help you understand the high level so you should trust me. Moshe rabbeinu…Yirmiyahu hanavi…” (Comparing yourself with Moshe Rabeinu and Yirmiyahu HaNavi)

    Neville,

You clearly aren’t reading what people wrote.

There was a limit of one (or two) per customer from the US Mint (btw it’s the actual US Mint, not some other company). That’s why people CAN’T just do this instead of working. That’s why the dealer CAN’T buy them all by himself.

The main reasons people felt it was a “scam” are

1)The dealer was using a trick to circumvent the limit set by the Mint

2)People could have sold the coins themselves for more than the dealer was offering, albeit sacrificing a bit of convenience

It’s not a free money scam, it’s a simple business deal. If you would just read you would see that.

You’re correct, for some reason I automatically assumed the rock was less dense than water and would therefore float. I now realize how silly my mistake was

“there was this nice problem I read the other day. You are in a boat on a lake. There’s a rock on the boat. If you throw the rock into the water, does the water level goes up or down?”

No (Except temporarily right after you throw it, but not once everything reaches equilibrium)

Let’s talk about normal physics that people actually understand

“It’s amazing that you are keeping Shabbos! You are so great!”

This is the truth, so no one is misleading them with this expression.

“However, once they become frum, they won’t have everyone hugging them and clapping them on the back for keeping shabbos.”

Unless they are very naive, why would they expect that? They know it’s a kiruv organization, so it makes sense that the people involved would be more encouraging than people in the real world.

Still don’t see anything wrong with it.

Who cares if that’s what a “typical” Shabbos is? If they ending living a lifestyle in which they have a kumzitz with a guitar by havdallah, is there anything wrong with that?

You need to hook them with something, and a “typical” Shabbos just doesn’t do it for a lot a people, especially teenagers.

Btw, your statistic of 99% is probably not accurate. There are plenty of people in Israel who do stuff like that.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.

    000646,

I just looked back through the thread and I see why this is getting confusing. I was originally responding to Yserbius123’s explanation of the Double Slit Experiment. He seemed to be saying that the act of observing a subject actually shoots photons at the subject. I was explaining how that makes no sense.
