once it’s moderated, there are already people reading it and the damage is already done, so the posters should be careful anyhow, so it wouldn’t make sense to say that someone wouldn’t be careful about what they write because they know they can edit after moderation!! At that point the damage has already been done!!
This would be true only if people were robots.
But people are not robots. They don’t through a whole specific thought process before posting. Rather they have a general mindset when posting. If there were no concept of editing a post, people would have a more cautious mindset when posting.
I think that ideally we shouldn’t be able to edit at all, but for whatever reason, typos often become more visible once you see the post in the thread (maybe it’s something about the formatting).
LU – So if it’s really that bad they can ask the moderators to delete it.
I think if people don’t have the ability to edit their posts it will force them to be more careful with their words.
Or, allow edits only until the post is approved.
I understand the need to correct typos, but you shouldn’t be able to edit your post after other people read it, just like in real life.

I’m a frum mechanical engineer and I am extremely happy with my career choice.
I think most people just aren’t interested or aren’t cut out for it.
One of the benefits of going to school in NY would be the ability to work out some kind of combination of yeshiva and college. Even if you don’t go to a formal yeshiva-college program, the mere fact that there are so many options will make it easier to work something out. I don’t know how easy it will be where you live.
In most cases a Master’s in Engineering is a waste of time. Companies would prefer to hire someone with a year of experience over someone with an extra year of coursework.

It may not be that simple. If you use OU’s product search online, you’ll see that a lot of their packaged juices and soups are actually OU Kosher certified.
