MenoParticipant
Use a regular pour-over coffee dripper to filter it.
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/cold-brew-coffee/#post-1299626MenoParticipantWould you store the cold brew in the fridge all week?
That’s what I do
MenoParticipantWhich coffee do you use?
I use Folger’s
I would never use it for hot coffee but it’s not bad for cold brew, and I want to perfect the method before using good stuff.
Also I can’t get that stupid jingle out of my head.
MenoParticipantI’ve tried using a melitta thing.
First problem is that it’s too small. I like making a week’s worth of coffee at once.
Also for some reason cold brew clogs up the filter pretty badly, so between that and the tiny hole in the cone it takes forever. They say you’re supposed to use a coarser grind, but I don’t grind my own coffee.
MenoParticipant“I think I’ve heard of some people buying them and being disturbed by the strong chemical odor.”
If you think that’s bad, try sleeping on a bail of hay
MenoParticipantI’ve been doing that. It works fine but I’m looking for a more practical way to filter it. I don’t normally use a coffee maker so I don’t want to take it out just for this.
They sell bottles with built in filters special for this. I was just wondering if anyone has tried it.
MenoParticipantI sleep on a bail of hay.
I wouldn’t risk my life with man-made stuff.
MenoParticipantI thought Via was just coffee ground very finely so it dissolves. I could be wrong.
I’ve never tried it. I’m fine with Taster’s Choice
MenoParticipantThis is why we have a chulent crisis.
People care more about the color of their chulent than the taste and consistency.
MenoParticipantDY,
Is Starbucks Via better than brewed coffee regarding bishul?
MenoParticipantThe problem with shampoo, lather, rinse and repeat is that it is a never ending cycle.
Sounds like some type of sinister plan to take over the world
MenoParticipantCook it less.
But I agree with RebYidd. Why wouldn’t you want it darker?
MenoParticipantTry frying a latke in it. That should soak up the excess oil.
MenoParticipantDoesn’t make sense to do something you don’t like just to save 2-3 years of school
MenoParticipantNice idea though
Is it really? Do you think the reason they are hungry is because we have more food than we need?
MenoParticipantSo b’kitzur, you shouldn’t leave your child on a doorstep?
MenoParticipantWhen I read the topic title, I thought it would be about how awesome ebay is
MenoParticipantI buy stuff from China all the time. Often you can get half decent stuff for like 75 cents and free shipping. No idea how that works out for them
MenoParticipantHoner + meow = homeowner
MenoParticipantWhy don’t you just tint your drink instead?

And how are you defending EN by bashing Hatzolah?
June 12, 2017 2:16 pm at 2:16 pm in reply to: What Happened With Ezras Nashim In Boro Park On Monday Night? #1293827MenoParticipantIt’s true that people should have a choice, but they should have a clear picture of what their choices are.
If the stories about EN are true, people should know about them so they can make an informed decision.
June 12, 2017 11:05 am at 11:05 am in reply to: What Happened With Ezras Nashim In Boro Park On Monday Night? #1293358MenoParticipantHealth,
I have never heard someone speak out against Hatzolah as vehemently as you are.
I’m very inclined to think the problem is you, not them.
June 9, 2017 12:43 pm at 12:43 pm in reply to: If a chosson is blind, is unveiling his kallah enough? #1292502MenoParticipantWhat kind of question is that?!
I think it’s a good question
MenoParticipantwait,
that wouldn’t be right twice a day either. What did you mean? You’re right. I’m not sure what I was thinking
MenoParticipantslow clocks arent though
Sure they are, if they are actually slow.
June 7, 2017 10:35 am at 10:35 am in reply to: What Happened With Ezras Nashim In Boro Park On Monday Night? #1291233MenoParticipantI don’t know. Neither do you. Nor does the letter writer. Nor anyone else.
It’s possible that someone knows.
I don’t know. Neither do you. Nor does the letter writer. Nor anyone else other than Hatzola.
Maybe Hatzola is a CR member.
MenoParticipantI don’t know hot to type sheet music so I’ll just sing a song for you. It goes like this:
Um d’ dum d’ dum dum dum ay ay ay
Dum d’ d’ dum ay ay dum dummmm
Um d’ d’ dum d’ d’ dum d’ d’ dum dum ay ayyyy
Dum dum dum d’ d’ dum dum dumThat’s the first part. After you master that I’ll give you the rest
MenoParticipantSomeone should arrange an asifa for this.
That seems to be all the rave these days
MenoParticipantHair clippers are specialized implements used to cut human head hair. They work on the same principle as scissors (wikipedia)
Ubiquitin wasn’t arguing with the fact that using hair clippers is a halachically acceptable way to shave one’s face.
He was arguing with the logic of “since EVERYONE uses it for haircutting.
I figure its got to be kosher to cut your beard with it.”MenoParticipantPut it on a timer?
MenoParticipantAlso free rent.
And free car insurance.
MenoParticipantIt works nearly as good as a shaver for the purpose
You have clearly never used a good shaver
MenoParticipant…you see snow outside and say “uuugghhh”
May 26, 2017 10:21 am at 10:21 am in reply to: Anti Zionist demonstration planned in Barclays Center #1286222MenoParticipantThere’s a guy in the coffee room, I think his name is something like kj chosid.
He would probably know the details.
MenoParticipantAvram, I completely agree.
I don’t deny that the whole benefits system is a good thing, but it has to be configured in a way such that it doesn’t discourage capable people from working.
MenoParticipantPeople who receive benefits when they could be working instead are also not good for the welfare of the nation
MenoParticipantHe ran on a platform of helping the regular people
Who are the regular people?
MenoParticipantPerhaps this then is the solution to todays shidduch crises
Brilliant! Why hasn’t anyone thought of that?
MenoParticipantThere’s a free service called TextNow.
It seems like it’s similar to Google Voice but it might work better in your situation.
I’m not totally sure how it works so you would have to go check it out for yourself.
MenoParticipantHave we come to a consensus about potato peelers yet?
MenoParticipantTwo elderly gentleman are sitting and talking:
“My wife and I went to a wonderful restaurant the other night.”
“Really? What was it called?”
“You know, I can’t remember the name. What’s the name of a red flower that smells nice?”
“A rose?”
“Rose – that’s right. Hey Rose! What’s the name of the restaurant we went to the other night?”
MenoParticipantI think at some point you had to have an existing U.S. number in order to sign up, but I don’t think that’s the case anymore.
I found a few articles online which discuss using Google Voice to send and receive calls internationally.
MenoParticipantWell now that you posted the link it’s even easier for them to find it.
I would expect the hackers to come knocking on your door any minute now.
MenoParticipantIt’s called Google Voice.
You sign up online, get a regular number that you can set to ring either on your phone or on the Google Voice website.
You can also get sms messages either on your phone (not applicable in your case), an/or on the website, and/or forwarded to your email.
It sounds like it would work in your situation as long as you have a computer with internet access (it might work for your ATM card too)
MenoParticipantMaybe you should move to a third world country
MenoParticipantJust wait till they convince you to get whatsapp.
From there on it’s a slippery slope…
MenoParticipantAs far as the members are concerned, it is for-profit, even if it is legally characterized as a non-profit. Otherwise why would anyone join?
I don’t see how this is any different from buying an apple from a Jewish-owned grocery.
I give a dollar, he gives me an apple.
I give his orphans money when he dies, he gives my orphans money when I die.
MenoParticipantDoes the term “non-profit” have any halachic significance?
MenoParticipantChildren are not allowed to use pens to keep the children clean
