Also, Chock full of nuts – ground coffee 11-13 oz is $1.97. I didn’t buy but my mother did. Celestial Seasonings teas are 3/$5.00 You can go to Shoprite.com and check out their weekly circular and find out locations and directions. If you do allow circulars dropped off at your home (in Brookyn, if you have a sign requesting no unsolicited papers on your property, you will not get these),BTW, there was a Celestial Seasoning coupon in the coupons section.
mazal77ParticipantJust went to check out other Shoprite locations at their website. Brooklyn has only one!!! It’s located between flatbush /boro park/kensington section of Brooklyn. the next 2 closest ones are both in Staten Island.
mazal77ParticipantBrooklyn19, Pickled herring in cream sauce is pretty good. (Especially, the Honey Mustard pickled Herring by Pomegrante, but this should be in the Fave Food thread) We took the kids a few years back to the Homowack for the weekend. My Eldest son(who was 9 at the time) ordered the pickled herring in cream sauce, the waiters couldn’t believe he ordered and liked it!!!
mazal77ParticipantReally, squeak, where is there another shoprite in brooklyn, besides Mc&I?? I thought it was the only one in Brooklyn.
mazal77ParticipantQwertyuiop, yeah, there was alittle olive dip left over. If you want they have full size containers for sale, which we bought. Finished that container in no time, went back to buy more. It was great with Melba toast. There was Honey mustard picled Herring, that wasn’t too shabby either.

Alot of “Ashkenazim” are really from Spain. As jews, we moved around alot. I was at a class with R’Berel Wein a noted, jewish Historian, who said even his own family originated from Spain and ended up in germany,( I think that is the country he mentioned at that class I went to,which was 15-20 years ago)
mazal77Participantyes intellegent, that is the same Shoprite – on McDonald Avenue and Avenue I. There is a Amazing Savings store in that Shopping Center.

Oh boy, I could not get them away from the table. They were munching like crazy. I took the cart and left them!! The lady serving the sample must have been rolling her eyes. My husband (and myself) highly recommend the Olive Dip.

mazal77Participantmod, u missed my post about Hazeet to Syrian. My above post doesn’t make sense with out it.
mazal77ParticipantYour welcome, Just went shopping there this evening and thought I’d spread the word. They were very busy tonight though.
mazal77ParticipantBeacon, you mentioned you love cheese at the begining of the thread. I went to Pomegrante last week. Oh my goodness, they have a wide variety of Chalav Yisrael cheese. Olives, Port wine, Blue cheese, mozzerella. Can’t remember them all, but they sure looked good. Oh, and don’t go shopping there on an empty stomach.

mazal77ParticipantTips- Shoprite is having their CanCan Sale this week. Ronzoni pastas are selling for 54 cents. Canned Veggies, like beets, corn, variety beans, potatoes etc. are 4/$2.00.
Cherrios, Honey Cherrios, Cocoa Puffs, are 1.77 a box. Clementines boxes are $3.99 but the shoprite in brooklyn, clementines were mushy so becareful when selecting. Poland springs water bottles are $3.88 for a case.

mazal77ParticipantI guess you may consider some people part of nature, but animals do what Hashem intended them to do. People have free will. I think it is in insult to the animals to compare people to animals. Call them savages if you must!!!

mazal77ParticipantWhile,I always checkout Shamash.org website for Kosher places, I wish they would update the Restraunts more often. Like if the place closed down, Shamash should write that the establishment is no longer there. It is only good when other people review/update the information on it’s website and let others know. So, if you do go out to eat, let others know of any new kosher places or if they aren’t around by reviewing or updateing new info to shamash.org/kosher. You’ll be doing other a chesed.
mazal77ParticipantLandau’s is the Minyan Factory in Flatbush. Forgot to daven Maariv/Arbit?? it’s 1:00am!! Have no fear- you’ll find a minyan here, and then some.
