Did he also forget to give you a lollipop of the color you wanted?
Mayan_DvashParticipant“My Bad!” instead of “I was wrong” or “It’s my fault”

Mayan_DvashParticipantTznius is a big issue. It falls under ???? ??????, and should not be taken lightly. Frankly, I’m surprised that the mods allowed people to make fun of something so serious.
April 15, 2015 8:47 pm at 8:47 pm in reply to: Looking for serious Yeshiva with a college option in Brooklyn #1072251Mayan_DvashParticipantT.V. doesn’t really let you go to any real college. C.B. is not as strict. There are plenty of smaller Yeshivas that let you go to real colleges.
Mayan_DvashParticipantDY: you can’t clean the socket, you need to fully Kasher it. It’s easier and cheaper to have a set of Pesachdik outlets. There may be a shita that holds, if you plug a light bulb – incandescent preferably, which is hard to find these days, it might be a way of kashering that outlet.

September 5, 2014 6:25 pm at 6:25 pm in reply to: Does anyone have information about a good exorcist #1031469Mayan_DvashParticipantThere are plenty. Just go to any gym 🙂
Mayan_DvashParticipantI wonder about the following: look at the comments of Dasan & Aviram “..you took us from a land of milk and honey..” they used attributes of Eretz Yisrael to describe Mitzrayim. Now, they actually made it out of Mitzrayim with the 20%. I cannot even imagine the mindset of the 80% who did not come out!
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantSo Rocky, where were you summer of 1984?
Mayan_DvashParticipantrebyid, the problem with your solution is that in Flatbush where you have to use a sign as opposed to saying “Good Shabbos” those people don’t carry so you’ll be ostracized for carrying in Flatbush anyway. In Boro Park at least, many people do hold of the eruv. I grew up in BP and did say Good Shabbos and still got married. BTW, there are more people like me in Brooklyn than you think.

January 8, 2014 5:13 pm at 5:13 pm in reply to: Tuesday of Parshas Beshalach … Parshas HaMon Day #997717Mayan_DvashParticipantI received this in an email yesterday:
Parshas hamon – the humorous side:
1) The Satmar Rebbe zy”a said that the segulah of Parshas HaMan is only valid until 9am. After that you have to GO TO WORK!
2) My friend says Parshas HaMan “oisenvendig” (off by heart); he wants to get paid “off the books”!
3) I know someone who already said Parshas HaMan 6 times – each time under a different name…
4) Bidieved if someone forgets to say Parshas HaMan he can go to work instead…
5)Say it walking up the stairs to get a “raise”
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantIf you get a Robocall, just press 9. That is supposed to put you on a do-not-call list that they’re supposed to keep.

Mayan_DvashParticipantThe intro sounds like the Atlanta Braves’ “Tomahawk”
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantIt shows a lack of ???? ????? (not to be mistaken with “Kuvid Hataireh” – what people announce when they want you to move out of their way…)

October 21, 2013 5:34 pm at 5:34 pm in reply to: Protesting Same-Gender Marriage in New Jersey #985986Mayan_DvashParticipantMarriage is more than an economic relationship. Do me a favor and call those gay unions something else. ??? ?????, anyone?
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantBaruch is respected as a business college, as opposed to a science school.
Mayan_DvashParticipantI bet you understood every word of it, so where did YOU learn it?
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantI wasn’t ridiculing Rav Tzvi Meir, but BaalHabooze shouldn’t compare himself to Rav Tzvi Meir either. I think ultimateskier got it right saying that we do it for ourselves.
Mayan_DvashParticipantInteresting, I think it shows a lack of ?????, that one has to yell…perhaps Rav Tzvi Meir is ???? ??? ?????, had ??? ?????, that this person’s ????? had to do with those loud kids. Other shuls of a particular Chasidus don’t “lack ?????” i.e. they don’t yell ‘?’ ?, although they may say it a bit louder…
Mayan_DvashParticipant… a way of censoring the word….
thanks Mods, I didn’t know the proper way of writing it without actually “writing it”…..
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantThat may be just for lifting weights. What about other exercises? Treadmill? Elliptical? Stationary bicycle?
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantSpeak for yourself TU-731, also, what is your name all about?
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantHaLeivi: Please read what I wrote, we are not praying to His ????, we are asking Him to apply certain ???? etc. The ???? ????? (made famous by Avraham Fried) that ??? ?????? ?? ????? once went into the ???? ????? and he “saw” the ????? which asked him for a ???? to which he responded may your ??? ????? conquer over your anger….. That is (similar to) the way I interpret ?????? ?????
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantSimple answer to simple people asking this silly question: these are attributes of Hashem and NOT ‘powers’ of ______ (fill in the blank).

August 30, 2013 4:00 am at 4:00 am in reply to: Chassidish Minhagim and which Chassidus does it #972664Mayan_DvashParticipantcrisis: as opposed to dressing like goyim of the 20th – 21st century? By the way, I dress like the litvaks who dress like goyim of the last 50 years. I don’t think it’s who they are dressing like, but more like how the clothing fits the person wearing it.
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantMy Kittel has buttons to close, I can’t waste my time trying to lace it up. Anyway, where would you find (replacement) string?

😉
July 2, 2013 4:33 pm at 4:33 pm in reply to: Cutting off cars waiting on linerude or not? #963473Mayan_DvashParticipantFrom time to time I see either state or local police pulling over those cars that cross solid white lines or zebra stripes to save a few minutes. For example, before there were 2 lanes to get from the FDR South onto the Brooklyn Bridge and NJ Route 21 where it merges into one lane before Route 46.
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantDr. B, I’m sure you learned all the nosai keilim on Orach Chaim 124:7 and are familiar with the ‘punishments’ listed there. Like others who posted here, I have to say that most places I’ve davened, it is quiet during davening. What you wrote here is motzi shem ra, possibly constitutes a kitrug. Are you ready to shoulder responsibility of others receiving the punishments mentioned?
Mayan_DvashParticipantSTY: “…anti-smoking agenda…goyishe culture…”, that sounds like Taliban propoganda: stay in the dark ages, ignore science. Then there is the 2nd hand issue. Many people also find the residual stink offensive.
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantWorking parents don’t want their kids influenced into thinking that they (the parents) are completely into gashmius and are Torah illiterate while the Klei Kodesh parents don’t want their kids influenced into thinking that they are useless bench-kvetchers. WE MUST KEEP THE BLINDERS ON!!!
😉
Seriously, as long as we all respect each other, we stand to gain from mixing these groups.
TL;DR is no excuse here

March 11, 2013 3:45 pm at 3:45 pm in reply to: People Questioning What Others Wear While Shopping #936046Mayan_DvashParticipantAccording to a Magid Shiur I listen to, it’s to “impress Vinnie and Tony on the street” or maybe Miguel and Armando in produce. Maybe not, I’m just repeating what I heard from a reliable source.
;
Mayan_DvashParticipant–Theres no heter for the kallah to come into the mens section period!–
So you want to be mevatel a mitzvah for people to be mesamayach chosson V’KALLAH?
So the Chasidish, for the most part, may hold hands after the Chupa and have a Mitzvah Tantz, the Litvish, who don’t, will hold hands in public the rest of their lives!!!
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantToday is Thursday and I just finished off last weeks chulent. I realize that tonight, many guys will be eating fresh chulent made for this week — I used to.
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantIs it worse to have your phone go off during davening, or voicing your opinion about it to your neighbor during Chazaras Hashatz?
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantTime’s fun when you’re having flies.
-Kermit the Frog
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantAs long as you don’t end up singing when you’re supposed to learn (seder) and learning when you’re supposed to sing (Lecha Dodi, Keil Adon).
;
Mayan_DvashParticipant??? ??? ??????
Mayan_DvashParticipantShelo Asani Litvak. My own observations show me that Chassidim have natural simcha and the Litvaks I’ve seen over the last couple of days need alcohol to create for themselves an artificial simcha. just sayin…..
Mayan_DvashParticipantLots of people were oiver bal tosif!!
Mayan_DvashParticipantyaakov doe: that would work but they charge more for a driveway than for regular sidewalk
;
Mayan_DvashParticipant…a calendar that is in alphabetic order…with the days of the week in alphabetic order. So you have April,August,…..
I actually got one of these from a 3rd party vendor that sells a Data sorting package. The message was something about sorting that makes sense, e.g. you wouldn’t want your calendar sorted alphabetically!
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantcoffeeaddict: Mordechai Schmutter liver there…
along with the rest of his body 🙂
It’s close enough to NYC community, by car or mass transit.
Mayan_DvashParticipantMy 4yo daughter started singing hyper tante hentelach….and she finds calerpitters interesting.
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantThe way I see it, he is a germophobe. Do you know ALL the places people use their smart phone? I’ve heard people use them in the bathroom (the sound effects when one plays games or talking to someone). So I don’t blame them for not wanting to touch a smart phone that may be host to thousands of germs and bacteria etc.
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantI believe the premise comes from someone who is jealous of the money or the kovod that rich people have. These people are doing the right thing with their money. Is this person in kollel learning?
;
Mayan_DvashParticipantWith all due respect, Rav Moshe was most likely quoting a Gemara in Sanhedrin, I believe…
;
Mayan_DvashParticipant….waiting for the anti-croc crowd to show up.
